So i recently received a old pc from a friend that was donating parts to help me build a gaming pc for my little brother which is now complete.

Anywho the donated pc from my friend had a corsair h100i cooler from 2013. I currently have a 4690k with a hyper 212 evo and have been thinking about overclocking with the h100i if it is worth it. I also have the msi gaming 5 z97 motherboard,  sapphire rx 590, and 750w psu.

So the question is how much can really be gained for gaming and light streaming with overclocking with the h100i over the 212 evo. And if it is significant then what would be a good guide for overclocking the i5 4690k on the msi gaming 5 z97.

Long winded post i apolgize and thanks ahead of time for anyone that actually read it.

not the best choise imo. if you want a cheap upgrade in cooling, you could get a artic freezer 33 esports, if you want to go a bit more expensive, you could get a nh-d15 or be quiet dark rock pro 4. but that's imo

I would go with what @LukeSavenije said. Imo a 5 year old AIO is not a good thing to put in your system. Pump might die or it might leak and screw up your system (Not trying to scare but imo 5 year old AIO with mixed metals is risky).

For overclocking look up Jayz2cents videos. He has some great guides on overclocking.

Hey everybody,

I have an Cooler Master HAF XB EVO Lan Box case with the bottom (rear) fans facing out, the front fans and top rear fan is facing in and the 200mm fan on top is facing out. All of the side vents and some of the smaller areas are covered to help create more of a vacuum effect. My question is How come my system now runs 20˚c cooler then the setup that Cooler Master had for the case.
