with 1st gen Ryzen and early BIOS then sure, but nowadays even 3200MHz is easy to hit.

Asrock B450 Pro4 and MSI B450-A Pro will do. It depends on whether RGB header (asrock has 1, MSI has none) or fan header (Asrock has 5, MSI has 6) you prefer to have. Their prices are $3 apart anyway

Asrock B450 Pro4 and MSI B450-A Pro will do. It depends on whether RGB header (asrock has 1, MSI has none) or fan header (Asrock has 5, MSI has 6) you prefer to have. Their prices are $3 apart anyway

I actually ended up getting an MSI b350 tomahawk because I got it from a friend for cheap, would that work?

not recommended, VRM components are much worse.
