How long will it live?

I think it showed up 6 months ago. It was a bit smaller than now.

What is this thing? I guess I should start looking for a new monitor?

looks like there has been some pressure on it. you could get a new monitor, but it's not required

What do you mean by pressure? 

Most likely not but I ask it anyway  - Is there anything I can do about it?

well, all says it was something that has pressed onto the screen, could have happened with transporting it for example. not much, you might be lucky and it goes away, but that's about it

The monitor is 6 years old. This thing showed up only 6 months ago. I didn't apply any pressure too. while transporting but showed up 5 years later?

well, then I honnestly don't know. if it bothers you too much, you should get a new screen. but more advice I can't give rn
