R9 Problems

Hi All,

I recently got myself a used r9 290 for 100usd and it works fine but occasionally when i leave pc idle for a while and come back to it as soon as i start doing things my main monitor (connected to gpu) goes black while my other monitor (connected to motherboard) is on briefly before freezing and making me have to restart computer other than that when putting load on gpu it works just fine so i don't think its power. Any idea?

Things to consider here are your display cords and drivers for the card. Make sure your driver is up to date. Sounds like either a software issue with drivers or perhaps the card itself is faulty (thermal throttling?)
