Recommended upgrades

Current system build:

 

1060 3gb Dual

 

8gb ddr4 2400mhz single channel

 

Intel 7700k 4.5 GHz w/ Hyper 212 Evo

 

z270-a prime motherboard

 

500w PSU

 

1080p Non-Gsync 60hz monitor

 

I am looking for an upgrade this holiday season and wanted to see what you would recommend basically on my current setup I can play most games at 1080p but when it comes to streaming games like hitman them my CPU or ram or maybe its just my GPU struggles. I was thinking of switching over to ryzen for better streaming performance but I hear it takes a chunk of fps out when gaming. I am also curious about the ram setup I would even need to run a ryzen properly or would it just be worth staying with my 7700k. I was also wondering if my 500w PSU I currently have would even be enough for the upgrades listed below. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Still deciding which ryzen CPU and if I wanted to get an unlocked one if you could recommend me one that would be helpful.  

Another 8gb ddr4 to fill the second channel for better performance

 

A second monitor for streaming

Your current setup is good enough to streaming games but 1070ti is a good choice.

wait for Ryzen 3xx early next year or maybe Ryzen 4xx in 2020.

Your cpu is still powerful enough for most task.

I'd say graphics and power supply (only if you plan on playing at higher settings) although your current setup is pretty decent.

 

You could possibly opt to upgrade your RAM to 16GBs at a faster MHz. Modern chips recommend 2666MHz as a minimum to leverage the speed of the CPU. Or if you're not bothered you could overclock your RAM a little. It's what I did until I upgraded my RAM to 3000MHz.

for gaming, 8gb is enough, not enough if you add streaming to the mix.
