Hello,

I'm a begining PC builder. I'm currently working on a PC for a friend, but I've encountered a problem I cannot find anywhere else.

When I turn in the PC, the EZ Debug LED's (MSI) light up and turn off for the CPU and RAM, indicating that those 2 are fine, but afterwards in doesn't light up the VGA or Boot LED, so it looks like it doesn't check them.

The PC then doesn't post at all, it also has no error beeps aside from when I remove the RAM

Hardware:

CPU: I5-9600k

GPU: Geforce GTX 1070ti

MB: MSI B360m Pro-VD

RAM: 2x Corsair Vengeance LPX 8GB 2666MHz

PSU: Corsair RM 850x at 850 watt.

M.2 SSD: Samsung 970 EVO 250GB.

To me it almost looks like the MB is broken, but then it confuses me that it turns on at all and still checks the CPU and RAM.

I've already tried tested and functioning RAM, so that can't be the problem.

I don't have any other CPU's or MB's to test with.

I've already quadruple checked the cables, so unless I missed something that is also not the issue.

If anyone has any suggestions, they would be much appreciated.

Take the GPU out and all mass storage devices and test with integrated graphics. If nothing, try each stick of RAM in each slot on the motherboard individually. Check behind the motherboard for possible shorts as well

I already tried it without a GPU, nothing.

Updating the BIOS is not going to happen, since the MB doesn't post in the slighest. Not even a beep

I already tried without the GPU and any storage. I also tried 3 different sets of RAM, and confirmed all 3 on my own PC.

I checked the MB for damage, but couldn't find any, but then again I don't really know what to look for.

The weirdest thing I saw was a solder point on the underside looking more like a ball than a pin.

Look for any bents pins. If there are none, your best bet isn’t to probably start an RMA. Motherboards are picky. I had one with no physical defects that had Weird ghost RAM problems
