OC 8700K

Hello, 

I overclocked my 8700K to 5.2 Ghz at 1.385 volts and when I put the cpu under aida64 the cpu peaks at 77 degrease (c), does this ok? can I go higher without risking the chip?

How long are you running Aida64?  For CPU thermals and stability I would run PRIME95 for an hour.

 

77'C is fine, what cooler are you using?  Did you delid your CPU?

yeah that should be ok man most hard core overclockers hit about high 80s so yeah it seems good  source

I'm using noctua d15, I whould run 95 now and the cpu is not delided

where did you read the temperatures from?

 

Don't push higher clocks, you will be going past 1.4V at that point for an extra 100MHz.

You may have the best 8700k in the world then.  77c with an air cooler for 5.2GHz at 1.385v.  Almost unbelievable.

I'll run prime95 and I'll share the results, just wait

I don't know why but when I using prime95 the cpu doesn't achieve 5.2 Ghz, its averages at 4 Ghz, and the temps are even better than aida64

I have done torture test on prime95 for one hour, the cpu peaked at 72 (c), but the cpu speed (on task manager) was about 3.9 Ghz and it was slightly higher on the beginning.

Maybe could you tell me why the speed (on idle) is 5.2 and when I open a game of a bench it goes down (sometimes it is just to 5.1).
