Streaming scrapyard wars?

With all the tech that Linus has, would streaming this be a neat idea? They could transfer multiple feeds back to the main station, where a few people operating there would control them and manage the stream. Then a bit later they would upload an edited version. The problem is that it would heavily decrease views on the later version, so maybe it would go up as an unlisted video? I think it's an interesting concept.

While I like the idea, there is just way too much privacy concerns to make this a viable option (think blurring out faces, license plates, voices, etc.)

Good point. And stream-snipers would be a pain in the ass.

Oof, yeah.

People knowing they are to x location to meet with a seller, going to that location to fangirl over Luke.. Yeah I get it.

People would all lower their prices on craigslist and things would be so messed up that it wouldn't even be an honest battle anymore. Now if we lived in a perfect world and there were no trolls, then it would work. Man, that would be so cool.

It would not decrease views on the edited video. If you live streamed Scrapyard Wars, there would be a lot of boring scenes of them just sitting around typing on a computer or making calls. Not much action going on all the time.

 

The reason they have this series, is to make it a 'production style' content. With this comes the fabrication of certain aspects to drive up drama and excitement. The truth of Scrapyard Wars is not always exciting. Sure there would be a core viewership who would watch it and love it but it is not exactly the kind of content LTT is going for.
