Hi all.

In my household I have setup 2 routers.

The first is a basic modem/router.  This connects directly to ADSL.

The second is a Router only.  It offers better wireless standards and range than the first.  It is connected to a LAN port on the first.

My internet connection is fine but I would like to know if there is a way to disable all routing features on the first device so it only acts as a modem.

It would save me a bunch of headaches when tinkering with network settings like port forwarding etc.

Thanks in advance!

Ideally, you put the modem / router combo in bridge mode. If there isn't a bridge mode option, you can disable all the features (wifi, QOS, etc.) and put the downstream router in the DMZ of the upstream router. That way you'll still have double NAT, but you'll never notice.

I have looked over the user manual for your first router and I am not able to find any briding feature. I think the PARisboring is right and you will need to do double NAT or else just use your second router as an AP.
