I have a hard drive (1000 gb) that I found in my pc part collection which I want to wipe. I have a ssd with windows on it so how would I go about only erasing the hard drive? The hard drive does not have windows. I just don't want my ssd to be erased in the process. I would like to keep the hard drive to use it btw.

Thanks.

I repurpose old drives for cold stores.

The data is kept elsewhere so I guess I just do it so the drives have a use.

I write over them every 6 months to a year, I think I’m being clever but im just doing for fun and no real benefit.
