New build, high end!

AcMaiden

So I recently started playing Kingdom Come: delivrance, and my 4 year old rig is kinda struggling with it.

1440p, medium graphics and while I'm around 30-40 FPS most of the time, it feels really laggy sometimes. Big stutters when I move the camera fast in some places.
When I game, I want the best so this time around, I'm probably going totaly overkill on most parts, but that's the point really. To have a PC that will still be relevant in 5+ years.

There are 2 parts that I'm not sure however. CPU and motherboard. When it comes to motherboard, I tend to go as cheap as possible, as long as I recognise the brend. I do not care about SLI or OC in this case.
As for CPU, they're just less straightforward than say, GPU for example. I just looked at the benchmark site, looked for the cheapest/higher on the list, that is also an intel. The coments says its great for gaming, but I'd like a second view on it.

First off, the CPU+mobo doesn't make sense. Using a 9900k with a super low end board means that the VRMs are gonna be pretty bad, and may not even work with the CPU properly without more cooling. As well, you lose a lot of features (e.g. more ports) by getting such a cheap mobo. Honestly for CPU at most I would get a 9700k. Or maybe an 8700 non-k since you don't wanna OC

32 gb RAM is overkill for just gaming. 16gb would be fine; if you got a better board with 4 ram slots you could get 2x8gb allowing you to drop in another 2 sticks in the future (if needed) for 32gb.

You also don't really want to cheap out too much on the case; a bad case can make building in it much more of a pain and may have worse cooling lowering performance of your gpu and cpu.

The PSU is way overkill in wattage, you don't need that much.

That many case fans is a bit overkill; at most you might need 4.

Interested in computer architecture? Still in middle or high school? P.M. me!

I love computer hardware and feel free to ask me anything about that (or phones). I especially like SSDs. But please do not ask me anything about Networking, programming, command line stuff, or any relatively hard software stuff. I know next to nothing about that.

I'll be keeping my 1440p monitor, so that's 500$ less on the list!
Thanks everyone for all the quick answers!

I see that I still have much to learn xD

I agree with everything said above with one exception...  16GB of ram.  He is building a future proofed rig, and 32 gb is much more likely to be needed in the 5 year plus range.  With that being said,  I would buy 16GB of 3000 or 3200 mhz ram now and 16GB later as ram prices are crazy.

Also, while everyone is posting 2080ti, I personally would look at a cheaper graphics card...   2070 or 1080ti.  Both will game at 1440p, with the added benefit of being cheaper.  Nvidia releases new cards faster than some people change their underware.  Save money now and buy a top end card when the gains on them are much more defined.
