I want to upgrade my graphics card but I don't know anything about computers.

Hi! I want to buy a new graphics card but I don't know anything about the parts in a computer. Here are my specs!

Operating System
    Windows 10 Home 64-bit
CPU
    AMD FX-4300    32 °C
    Vishera 32nm Technology
RAM
    8.00GB Dual-Channel DDR3 @ 803MHz (11-11-11-28)
Motherboard
    Gigabyte Technology Co. Ltd. 970A-DS3P (CPU 1)    28 °C
Graphics
    DELL 2009W (1680x1050@60Hz)
    2048MB ATI AMD Radeon R7 250 Series (MSI)    31 °C
Storage
    931GB Western Digital WDC WD10EZEX-22MFCA0 (SATA )    29 °C
Optical Drives
    HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GH24NSC0 ATA Device

This is the card I want to buy:

EVGA GeForce GTX 750Ti Superclocked 2GB GDDR5 Graphics Card 02G-P4-3753-KR

My questions are:

Will the card work with my pc?

Will I need to upgrade any more parts with it?

Is it better than the one I have now?

If anyone could help it would be greatly appreciated Thank You!

1) Yes it will work with your PC.

2) Ideally you should start thinking about upgrading to a new platform (new CPU, new motherboard & new RAM).

3) Yes it is better and faster than the R7 250 you have now ( https://gpu.userbenchmark.com/Compare/Nvidia-GTX-750-Ti-vs-AMD-R7-250/2187vsm8217 )

no you won’t for that combo. If you have a little extra cash you could get an fx 6300 with a rx 560. But that’s just my recommendation. 4300 with 750 will work fine.

Yes it is quite a bit of an upgrade.

I am faster than 80% of all snakes

cpu: AMD Fx-8350

motherboard: GIGABYTE 970 (am3+)

RAM: 16gb ddr3 adata

gpu: AMD xfx rx 560 2gb

If your on a budget like me, you should upgrade your cpu to like an AMD Fx 6300 or fx 8350. Which will only be about 50-80

for a gpu, you can run a 750, but I would recommend you getting something like a rx 560 or an rx 570, or maybe even an rx 580 if you plan to overclock. All these gpu’s will Work great with these processors. Your 4300 is a bit outdated, and you should plan to replace that first.

Hey I feel ya, a fx 6300 and rx 560 combo will be perfect for that budget. And that’s if you get the parts new off of amazon. shouldn’t be over $220 at the most

I found a really good deal on a fx-8300. Do you think I should replace the 6300 with the 8300?https://www.amazon.com/AMD-FD8350FRHKBOX-FX-8350-8-Core-Processor/dp/B009O7YUF6/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1542564170&sr=8-2&keywords=fx-8300

That is the stuff! and you will be getting quite a bit of an upgrade! About a 181% upgrade for your gpu, and an 8% upgrade for the cpu! You don’t have to get a new cpu though, it only has 2 more cores and 2 more threads than your 4300. So you can scratch that if you want.

The upgrade on the card is good. But for 78$ and 8% difference on the CPU doesn't seem much. Better have some money left and with a good card.

Yep, it would be the best route to go since all of AMD's FX CPU's are trash and worthless.

Just so you know here are all the comparisons between the 2200G VS the FX CPU's that were mentioned in this thread...

R3 2200G VS FX 4300: https://cpu.userbenchmark.com/Compare/AMD-Ryzen-3-2200G-vs-AMD-FX-4300/m441832vs2879

R3 2200G VS FX 6300: https://cpu.userbenchmark.com/Compare/AMD-Ryzen-3-2200G-vs-AMD-FX-6300/m441832vs1555

R3 2200G VS FX 8300: https://cpu.userbenchmark.com/Compare/AMD-Ryzen-3-2200G-vs-AMD-FX-8300/m441832vsm7163

As you can see the 2200G tears all three FX CPU's apart and the major plus going with the 2200G is you get decent on-board graphics meaning you wouldn't need to buy that 750Ti.
