Whatever has decent looking cooling with an i7 and at least a 1050ti

I'm not 100% sure going all the way to a 1060 is worth it in a laptop.

I edit my posts a lot, Twitter is @LordStreetguru just don't ask PC questions there mostly...

Spoiler

What is your budget/country for your new PC?

what monitor resolution/refresh rate?

What games or other software do you need to run?

Basically every gaming type laptop will overheat, most modern laptops seem poorly built, unlike glorious old thinkpads...

You could look for a Ryzen 5 2500U laptop if you want something that can game, but probably won't overheat...maybe.

@GeneXiS_X Ruined his name, but is the laptop guy round here.

1. Not for every model, thermals will also improve with some tweaks

2. Compared to 2-3 years ago, laptops nowadays are built better in general (external build quality), however QC has dropped over time

https://www.price.com.hk/category.php?c=100293

(language change at top right corner "語言")

this is the source I use as reference, will be travelling to buy buy instead of online shopping.

battery life: dont care, plug in most the time

sRGB display: prefer good colour as some photo edits and designs will be done

for usage... it is actually for office work(way overkill everything I know), cad photoshop etc . but since the budget will be wasted if not used up, so trying to get best out of it.

Let me know if you think that I missed out some options

hp omen is selling a bit too high, the Y530 dont have a gtx1060 option yet, (may consider y720 if it really worth it)

It's within your budget from what I see. Do you really need a 1060?

not really, just a bunch of very similar specs in this price range.

I am also looking at a desktop perspective, as 1060 (or maxq) would be similar to gtx970 i have been using .

this is really a working laptop, not mind getting a 1050(ti) for other better things

then go for the either 2 options above, no thermal and build quality issues (Y530 may have bad heatsink and stock thermal paste though)
