Standard 16:9 1440p doesn't interest me, I would rather go 4K 16:9 than 16:9 1440p. I shouldn't have a CPU bottle neck issue, I have an overclocked 8700k.

Did the recommendations solely because you considered taking a 4K 16:9. It's your choice in the end of the day.

I am after a new monitor to go with my new RTX 2080 TI I have pre-ordered. I exclusively use my computer for gaming, (FPS, RTS, RPG, pretty much every type of game, except online games) I was thinking 4K or Ultrawide 1440p. I would be interested in seeing some Ultrawide 1440p benchmarks for the RTX 2080 TI.

I think I have narrowed it down to just a few monitors

- Acer XB321HK Predator XB1 32inch IPS 4K UHD G-Sync

- Acer Predator X34P

or wait for the

- ASUS PG35VQ

I am after what everyone's thoughts are. Currently I am using a cheap 28" TN 4K Free-Sync Panel

Well... 1440 ultrawide will give higher framerates than 4k, I know that much lol. Maybe... 25%? 30%? As for the PG35VQ... I don't think 200 fps is feasible. I see no reason to spend the $1500 or whatever it will be on that monitor, just to run medium-low settings so you can get 150+ fps. IMO, 1440 ultrawide is awesome, never been a huge fan of 4k, but only ever played on friends monitors, never owned one. My vote goes the the Acer X34P

You pre-ordered, but now you want to look at some benchmarks..

anyways

2080Ti is sufficient in 4K gaming 60FPS but if you like higher fps thus better response from your games, step down a notch and pick a 1440p 165hz monitor with G-sync. At this price range it's more like the looks rather than built quality they are all good.

From the 3 you looked at the Acer XB421HK is a beast so it's a no brainer, but that's if you don't like the ultra-wide screens.

Look at these one's as they are wonderful  picks too.

Don't forget that you will need a powerful CPU so you don't bottleneck the RTX 2080 Ti at this resolution.

Did the recommendations solely because you considered taking a 4K 16:9. It's your choice in the end of the day.

I know that every swears by high refresh rates, but me personally until the start of this year  was perfectly happy with 30FPS on my old laptop. I value graphics over super high FPS, but I must admit ultra wide does intrigue me.
