Upgrading/Dual Monitors

RushorGTFO

Hey guys,

So couple quick questions, I built this computer about 4 years ago and I'm looking to upgrade...

Specs:

AMD FX 6300 6 core 3.5 GZ(not overclocked, never tried since I only had a Hyper EVO Coolermaster)

Gigabyte 970 UD3P (https://www.gigabyte.com/Motherboard/GA-970A-UD3P-rev-10#ov)

G.Skill Ripjaws 16gb RAM  (2 x 8gb)(1600 btw)

GTX 1060 6GB VRAM (old GPU crapped out on me, this one is only  8months old)

My plan is to upgrade the PC to Ryzen and DDR4 RAM, so I would have to change the motherboard CPU and RAM. Is this a good idea?

I would go for the Ryzen 5 and 16GB Ram, and probably the B350 motherboard.

Also with my current build am I able to dual monitor? Does dual monitor put more stress/load on the PC? The only thing I would use the 2nd monitor for is google/netflix and watching twitch. 1 monitor would have a game running, while the other is used for simple day to day things(youtube, email, netflix, etc)

Thank you guys!

Which Ryzen 5? The fx 6300 isn’t the best nowadays and check to see if you can get a bracket from Coolermaster for am4. Dual monitor puts a little more stress on the pc but it’s barely noticeable.

Im mostly on discord now and you can find me on my profile

My Build: Xeon 2630L V, RX 560 2gb, 8gb ddr4 1866, EVGA 450BV

My Laptop #1: i3-5020U, 8gb of DDR3, Intel HD 5500
