I can't run 720p on a 1080p monitor

Mhmd

I got a really old 1080p (1920x1080) monitor 16:9 aspect ratio running on VGA.

In windows display setting there isn't a 720p option (1280x720) the closest I can get is 1280x800.

can I somehow make my monitor run at 720p exactly 1280x720 and with no black bars or anything?

You might have to poke around in your GPU control panel to make it run at 720p.

Out of curiosity, why run it at 720p instead of native 1080p? It's not going to look very good.
