How many fan can be connected to the system header of "gigabyte ga250m ds3h" using fan splitter cable.

I own a motherboard of gigabyte named "ga-b250m-ds3h" . It has a cpu fan header, and a system fan header. I wanted to attach more than one system fan using splitter cable. Please let me know how many fans can I add without causing any trouble for my motherboard. Link to the motherboard discription is . http://www.gigabyte.in/Motherboard/GA-B250M-DS3H-rev-10#kf

The sum of the current of all your fans must be below the manufacturer specs (2000mA here).

You can have about 5 before you start burning fan headers.

On its page gigabyte has written that every fan header supports high current fan upto 24w( 2A*12v) with over current protection. What does this mean??

Means that you can run about 4 0.5A fans. A (or amps) is a measure of current draw. The fan header can support up to 2A, meaning about 4 higher-amps-than-average desktop fans.

They are probably using PTC resettable fuses (passive component) to protect against overcurrent,
