Get the PB248Q not the PA one, it's newer and better, that's the one I'm getting in a few days.

The Pro Art monitor has a wider gamut which you don't need for gaming.

Because he would have to upgrade his graphics card

i just looked at the prices and it is an extra $10 to what he is already paying

you can get a good QNIX 27" 1440p monitor on ebay cheaper then the monitor you are looking at
