Don't bother getting a single-fan rad, get something like the Cryorig H5 or R1

4.2 GHz over 6 cores is faster than a 4 core at 5GHz. just FWY :S

If you go intel at least go 2011-3. in the end it wil bewurf it.

It's 2017, why are people still shilling 2011-3 besides people who want to throw in a Xeon in the future?

No. You're directly comparing clock speeds of two different architectures with different IPC.

For what the OP is doing, X99 is useless. Games are still for the most part using 4 cores and eight threads now.

Even the 6700k destroys the 5820k in gaming.

Not really. 7700k is still the gaming champ with insane leads over Ryzen in some games. Outside of gaming Ryzen is the cheap performance king hands down, but not for gaming.

Yes thats teruw. i love xeons. Stil X99 is good. just becas its 2014 it das not mean its old. look at LMG the upgrade for a reason to X99 and not X299 (stability price/perf ect) yes the I7 is faster in games. But games don't pay the bills
