EK supports all the FE versions AFAIK, and they're pretty cheap compared to cards like the FTW3 or Gaming X.

Of course, you could get a fancier looking Corsair or Samsung SSD, and a larger HDD, but this should be good. And that air cooler will handle an awesome overclocking till you get the loop done.

You could get 32GB RAM, which is overkill for gaming, or a second 1080 Ti to run in SLI (not supported in many games though), get a M.2 SSD, etc.

Hmmmm. Me no likely X299, but you could go that way. Though make sure and get an i9 so you can use all the PCIe lanes.

If you don't need DVI and will bios flash the card then get a reference design to save on cost. If you don't plan on bios flashing then get a GPU with a higher power limit like the FTW3 or Strix.

Hmmm. A Ryzen 6 core would be worse than a 7700K, though you could get an X99 setup and an Extreme edition i7. For a loop, decide on your parts list, then go to EK's website and use the loop builder thing to figure out what you need.

ok sweet what cases do you recommend for high airflow and lots of water cooling support, also should i do dual rads, and lastly what type of metal on the bottom? gold? nickel? etc.

A 6 core build:

PCPartPicker part list: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/3fg6zM
Price breakdown by merchant: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/3fg6zM/by_merchant/

CPU: Intel - Core i7-6850K 3.6GHz 6-Core Processor  ($449.89 @ Amazon)

and I'd recommend a 570X if you want all glass, though the airflow won't be too good. Or get an Air 540 or 740. And dual 240/360 rads would certainly look cool. And I'd get copper/nickel blocks, or black ones if that fits the color scheme better.

and I'd recommend a 570X if you want all glass, though the airflow won't be too good. Or get an Air 540 or 740. And dual 240/360 rads would certainly look cool. And I'd get copper/nickel blocks, or black ones if that fits the color scheme better.

Do you really think a 6850K is a good buy? From what I've seen the Ryzen 1700 8core is far better for multitasked work which is what the OP wants (gaming + streaming).

Then I'd probably go with a 7700k. It beats Ryzen in pure gaming benchmarks because of higher single threaded score.

I personally run an X99 5820k rig, but the x299 performance is just too bad compared to Ryzen for me to recommend x299 at the current prices. If Intel drops the 8c to less 400 or less then I would go with it.

He told me the guy changed his mind and will use a capture card linked to another PC instead, so this'll just be a gaming rig. The 6850K will probs OC higher than an R7, so it'll be better. Still massive overkill though.

Yeah. Suggested that, but he's got money to burn, so why not get a 6 core? He doesn't want X299 though.
