Looking for a monitor for photo manipulation. (Photoshop)

King_of_Oz

Hey y'all!

I am building a PC for my mom, which will mainly be used used for photoshop. She needs a monitor with 1080p or higher resolution, PERFECT colour accuracy, and all of the adobe RGB spectrum coverage stuff. (Monitors aren't my thing, so I have no real idea what that means, only that it assures what you see on the screen is what will appear when she prints the photo.) High refresh rates are not necessary, as she will ONLY be using Photoshop. She would also like good factory calibration.

oh yeah, and try to keep the price down.

All help appreciated!

Since I am to lazy to put something interesting here, I will put everything, but slightly abbreviated. Here is everything:

and we'll assume you're using USD unless otherwise defined, OP

Join the Appleitionist cause! See spoiler below for answers to common questions that shouldn't be common!

Spoiler

Q: Do I have a virus?!
A: If you didn't click a sketchy email, haven't left your computer physically open to attack, haven't downloaded anything sketchy/free, know that your software hasn't been exploited in a new hack, then the answer is: probably not.

Q: What email/VPN should I use?
A: Proton mail and VPN are the best for email and VPNs respectively. (They're free in a good way)

Q: How can I stay anonymous on the (deep/dark) webzz???....

A: By learning how to de-anonymize everyone else; if you can do that, then you know what to do for yourself.

Q: What Linux distro is best for x y z?

A: Lubuntu for things with little processing power, Ubuntu for normal PCs, and if you need to do anything else then it's best if you do the research yourself.

Q: Why is my Linux giving me x y z error?

A: Have you not googled it? Are you sure StackOverflow doesn't have an answer? Does the error tell you what's wrong? If the answer is no to all of those, message me.

Just something to be mindful of: depending on what color space she's working in, your choices for the entire graphics pipeline may vary. If she requires 10-bit color for any of the CreativeCloud suite, you'll need either a Quadro or Firepro card (GeForce and Radeon do NOT support 10-bit in OpenGL), and a monitor that supports 10-bit color. (Not just 8-bit+FRC).

None of the monitors people have linked above have 99% AdobeRGB coverage. Don't buy them.

Dell offers the UP2516D and UP2716D (25" and 27" sizes respectively) for a reasonable price. Both are QHD resolution.
