Vega Frontier OR RX Vega Nova ( for indie game development)

WhiteSkyMage

Hey guys,

I would like to ask you, which Vega do you think would help me mostly in using Unreal Engine 4 for developing my game. I do also game, but since I've started this project with some friends at uni (a month ago), I haven't had much time to even open Steam. Just to note, I am doing mostly back-end stuff, so more coding than actual design within the engine itself, though I do go in there from time to time...

I am currently more studying Unreal than actually doing this project, same as my friends - we just do what we can and what seems easy, and the other stuff - well, courses, videos, training and...yeah...

As you can tell my PC is 2/2.5 years old (i built it myself in Jan 2015). Should I waste the big $$$$ for Vega Frontier, or do you think RX Vega will be sufficient? Remember that's not professional game development in a company, it's a university project, and no we don't have to submit it, it's our own to try and get a place in the gaming industry.

you should buy mid range video card(s) so your finished game would be optimized enough to run on those cards

why would game devs need 1000$ cards?

Well it take time to rebuild lighting whenever I am working with my friend on level design.

Also, perhaps you are right, although we are not even sure when and if we will release this game.

You might as well double the time it took to make Skyrim and you will get a rough estimate of when we will actually be close to some kind of alpha/beta (our game is single player).

We decided to target highest end hardware. By the time we release anything, Vega and Titan Xp performance will cost as much as an entry level GPU.

Btw, Vega does have a gaming mode, so i can test my games....
