Need help with networking. Help would be appreciated

extinctShadow

Hello, so lately I've been having problems with my network and would really appreciate help.

So I have come to the conclusion that it's the interaction  between my computer and the router.

When I test my speed on my phone (Wireless) I get 10 up and 10 down but when

I test it on my computer that is (cabled) I get 6 up and 4 down.

I have tried having the modem connect straight to my computer and then it's fine but if there is the

router in the middle then it slows down my internet speed. I believe it has something to do with my firewall but I'm not sure

so if someone could help that would be great!

Notes

-Router has been changed

-Cables changed

-No one is on the internet but me.

What is the exact setup?

Computer <-> Router <-> Modem?

What was the speed when u connected to the modem? And what is your network speed?

Brand/Model of the router?

Do you have any QoS settings on your router? What brand?

It's MODEM -> Router - > Computer

 The modem is an antenna. I don't know how to explain it it's been checked and it works fine.

The new router is TP LINK Model No. TL-WR1043ND

The exact speed coming from my modem is 10 MBS up, and down.

Check on my phone and it works fine there.

If QoS isn't enabled, try disabling the NAT function on the router and/or adding it to your modem's DMZ. Sounds like it could be slow due to a double NAT.

None of this works, I checked for double NAT it's not a problem

and QoS is disabled.  I still though think it's something with my firewall.

I tried doesn't work. The whole firewall is off.

I also have disabled the firewall off on the router.

So what makes you think it is the firewall? If turning the firewall off doesn't fix it, it probably isn't.

It was just a guess, I posted to other forums and people are telling me it's my firmware of my Ethernet port. That's my next try.
