Debate between two closed loops

Hey you guys, I'm making a new build just to sit it on my gaming room and needed a bit of help with the cooling. I'm doing some testing in order to get stable overclocks and I think I found some @ 4.72GHz for my FX 8350 but the temps are worrying me.. Temps do not go above 69C, but when CPU stresses up in apps like Prime 95 or 100% usage for a certain period of time it will go @ 74C and I don't really feel comfortable with that.. Now, I'm looking at two closed loops water cooling and needed help with recommendations. Thanks

If I get to buy this one, I'll for sure replace fans with some Noctuas instead of stock fans..

Those are actually really good temps for air at that clock speed and the X60 is the better of the two.

First off the Zalman is a no go, 

 

 

This would be better, I ran my FX8350 on an H100i this cooler performs about the same I believe so its a better option for you...

 

One thing to look out for is that on this  cooler you have to replace the strong metal backplate with a crap plastic thing...

 

H100i uses the standard AMD back plate so gets better mounting pressure...

Ah yea.. I was just thinking on overclocking a bit higher due so that I can provide a bit better performance to my 2-way GTX 770's which are also overclocked to 1280MHz.

Mhmmm, I saw X60 vs the H100i and the X60 beat it even in silent mode. Basically the reason why I didn't include the H100i in between.. Also, I was just looking at your set up and nice ! I'm trying to go from my 4.7GHz to at least 4.8GHz and hopefully 5GHz with the kraken X60 after getting some noctuas static pressure fans on it. So far, this is how I run @ 4.72GHz on a CoolerMaster V6GT 35~69(idle~load).

Best way to OC FX8350 is smash it to 1.5v @ 4.8Ghz test for stability then pull back the voltage until becomes unstable, and then put the voltage back top the last stable setting..

Yea thanks ..! I've heard people saying on how you need custom loop and even some refrigeration for that kind of overclock but I don't think it's true even though it's just preference. I have another PC in my gaming room which is composed of the 290X and the FX-8350 @ 4.9GHz with the Noctua dh-14 and it goes up to 67C while being stressed 100% usage with Prime95. Now, through experience I know I'll be more than safe @ 5.0GHz with a Kraken X60 and noctua 140mm fans installed on it. But mhmm, thanks for the recommendation man !

 

By the way, the Sabertooth 2.0 does a great job when being left on AUTO mode for CPU voltage. I get a stable overclock most of times, as you see on the picture 1.3V @ 4.7GHz was an auto selection of voltage from the board and I've never ran into unstable processes or any crashes on Windows or any other issues.

Ahh yea I'm aware. The Sabertooth will auto adjust the voltage everytime it finds the CPU going above the temp I set it to, in this case 75C. It's everything under control. Now, I wouldn't leave the AUTO on a Gigabyte board since my CPU went all the way to 1.5 and it literally shut down my pc due to overheating... Asus got me cover on this one lol.. Now, I just ordered the Kraken X60 with 4 noctuas static pressure optimized fans for push pull setup on top of my NZXT 810. Should be able to get it to 5.0GHz easily I believe. Planning to overclock a bit higher my GTX 770's to 1350MHz from 1280MHz. 

 

By the way, I see you kinda spend all your earning on your setup lol.. Pretty much what I do after having 3 set ups with almost same specs lol
