Can anyone explain this to me?

Since I upgraded my gtx 750ti to 1050ti I have stuttering in all my games (even low spec games).

However, the stuttering basically goes away when I set dynamic super resolution (DSR) to x1.2 (native resolution) in Nvidia Control Panel.

Can anyone explain what's going on? Does the gtx 1050ti run better at a higher resolution? I'm thinking of getting a 1080p monitor now...

My specs:

Athlon x4 860k

GTX 1050 ti

8GB RAM

1680x1050 TV

CPU bottleneck?

I'm guessing the x1.2 DSR means my GPU can't output as many frames, helping the CPU to keep up?

It renderes at higher resolution and then downscales to your monitor

Putting more load on the GPU so yea less frames

I should probably turn up GPU settings in-game too..

Yeah, that would also help lessen the CPU bottleneck.

You should look at getting your CPU upgraded tho.

Interested in computer architecture? Still in middle or high school? P.M. me!

I love computer hardware and feel free to ask me anything about that (or phones). I especially like SSDs. But please do not ask me anything about Networking, programming, command line stuff, or any relatively hard software stuff. I know next to nothing about that.

Yeah, I figured GPU was the first thing I should upgrade
