Why bother when everyone who has studied some electronics knows the answer.

 

Which is that ground and power are always different colors or have some other mark to tell difference. This time it happens to be silver vs orange. Last time I worked with wires, it was square vs round. Why its silver and orange, maybe they fit best to fan colors or factory just had those at the time. Doesn't really matter that much and I think manufacturer doesn't have better answer either.
