Question about cheap power cable extensions

I just want to know if really cheap PSU extensions cables from china would do any harm to the components.

kinda, they can melt/weld themselves to it depending on the power going trough it.

as long as they have thick gauge they are fine

You usually take that risk when buying cheap electronics. Personally I wouldn't do it cause I'm paranoid but as long as they're wired correctly it should be fine.
