PCIE Power Connector Recommendation?

BigBig5

I have a Seasonic M12II Bronze EVO Edition 850W. It has a paper that shows PCIE Power Connector Recommendation. I want to upgrade to 2 GPU's but I only have 3 plugs on the psu for pcie power cables. If I want gpu's that are >225W like around 250W would it be safe to use one cable?

are you plan on adding a second 270x?

IMO it should be no problem because it's a 850 W unit. Maybe check the rail configuration of your PSU and see how it delivers the power

I am planning on getting 2 new cards, but don't know yet because of the watts.

from the picture above - I'd say you should use cards below the 225 W if that's the official paper, that's the save way. But i don't think it'll be a problem firing one card with one cable and two connectors - AS LONG AS they are not skys above the 225W each...

What cards are you looking at?

EDIT: AND you shouldn't overclock them. Two 970 would be fine, but instead of the 970 I'd go for a single 980ti. I won't recommend using 2 390s because 275W each. two 980tis or two 980 would be fine IMO

R9 390/GTX 980ti and above are all high watts. Don't really know yet. Love AMD because of the drivers.
