ClobberXD
Go to solution Solved by colonel_mortis,

@anandgeforce Is "Enable experimental javascript" enabled at chrome://flags/#enable-javascript-harmony? If so, you need to disable it for the site to work.

I use Google Chrome and I am unable to open any menu (like '#elNavRoots_Menu', '#elNavTheme_menu', '#elUserLink_menu') in any part of any page on this forum. I also am redirected to a separate page if I click on "Existing user? Sign in", rather than being shown an overlaid box on the same webpage.

Thanks!

Have you disabled javascript or do you have any extensions that block scripts?

If not, can you try refreshing the page using Ctrl+F5 to bypass the cache. If that doesn't work, press F12 and switch to the console tab, then post a screenshot of everything there.

Ctrl+F5 doesn't work. I shall attach a screenshot of the console tab.

Can you switch to the console tab on the top bar of the dev tools, then take a screenshot of that (you've screenshotted the elements tab instead)?

I think your browser is out of date. The issue is being tracked in this Chrome bug, but a fix is supposed to have been implemented. Can you go to chrome://help (help->about Google Chrome), and make sure your browser is up to date.

This is what it says on the About - Google Chrome page :

Spoiler
Version 48.0.2564.103 m (64-bit)

Google Chrome is up to date.

That's weird. I can't reproduce it, even after installing that exact build number. Could you try reinstalling Chrome?

There is a server side fix that can be implemented, but it has potential to break other things, and would require us to modify the files every time we push updates, which is something that we want to avoid where possible.

I'll try, but it might take some time...

Wow! You're a genius! It was enabled, and now I've disabled it - And it works!!!

Thank you so much. I had to use Firefox for just this purpose - I use Chrome for everything else. But now, I can use Chrome for even LinusTechTips Forum!!!
