Will my OEM Lenovo support an Intel Core i5-3570

The Lenovo PC is currently running a Dual Core Pentium G620, as you can imagine an Intel Core i5-3570, is a very ambitious upgrade. I've already purchased the processor, because i'm fairly sure its compatible with the motherboard pictured, CIH61M were the markings I could make out on it. I found only one data sheet and even that was rather uninformative as to its incompatibilities.

This looks like the exact same board for all I can discern.

And this is the specs sheet on the processor.

The socket is an LGA 1155, or H2, both the processor and the board are compatible in that respect.

From the looks of it, yes.
I say try it out and let us know if it does!

looks like a yes, BUT, I would make sure that the bios is using the newest revision possible, as an older revision may not have support

Now how would one check such a thing? The board is old so all I can find is people using second generation processors on it, is there some reason it wouldn't support a third generation? Here is the only outdated data sheet I can find.

I can't seem to find any new bios for the motherboard, that would be immensely helpful

well, a quick google search of the motherboard's model number brings up this site.

http://www.findlaptopdriver.com/cih61m-v1-0-motherboard-specs/

It says it supports 2nd gen core i5, but nothing about 3rd gen...

Upon looking on Lenovo's Website, they have no new drivers for the Bios either, assuming you have the Lenovo K330B Ideacenter...

Looking deeper, I found this, where someone struggled to get a 3770K to work...

http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/385390-31-unknown-issue-lenovo-ideacentre

Also, this person, same computer, i5 3470 did not work...

I can safely say, do not do this upgrade.

That is what i've feared, i'll initiate a return, would a Core i5-2500 work?
