New ROG Swift 34" price?

jinroh10

PG279Q 2560x1440@165Hz, PG348Q 3440x1440@100Hz and PG27AQ 3840x2160@60Hz (this one might be higher then 60Hz, as they have upped it on the 2 others).

Think they will all 3 be in the ROG lineup.

so with the GSYNC we should still get a smooth experience and no screen tearing.

You could get the ACER Z35, that is now the fastest refresh rate monitor, you only got to use Gsync and it works at 200hz

No, that is the XR341CK, it is the lower tier 21.9 monitor, it is not the Predator branding, the monitor with the 200hz is the Z35, it will be coming out in December

Wow...now this changes things...I'm going with that one.

The only problem though is that it is 2560x1080p, if you like high refresh rate then I would say go with it.

I have pre ordered the ACER Predator X34, it is 34 inch 3440x1440p 21.9 Curved 100hz Gsync, the monitor actually comes out this year and not like the PG348Q which is next year

It's a VA Panel, so much better than TN in regards to viewing angles and colour, and deeper blacks than IPS, but VA's of course can come with their own issues.

lol, you shouldn't be so sceptical about these high end displays based off things you see or hear on forums, or based off reviews on retail sites.

And you shouldn't attribute a monitor with bad Q/C (quality control) based on what company it comes from, before or after release, it doesn't really work like that in the display world.

Like the Asus MG279Q for example, it's a great display, at a pretty amazing price point considering the alternatives, and yet people shy away from it because of what they see on amazon reviews, like 50% of them are 3 stars or below or something, and all the negative ones are due to bad Q/C, but that's because those people are much much much more likely to leave a review than the people who are happily enjoying their beautiful new display.

And a lot of the people who face issues with that display don't need to go through Asus' 'bad' customer service because they can sort out a replacement straight from Amazon.

That display is just an example of course, but it's a trend that is seen a lot in high end displays.

Personally I wouldn't worry about brands, and the issues they may or may not have linked to them, and instead just buy what covers your needs and what you like the look of for the budget you have.

Asus isn't at all known for putting out bad displays.

Almost all their lines have been released with minimal issues, just one or two that have had some higher than average Q/C issues.

The Asus PG348Q isn't even out yet, you can't really brand it with bad Q/C before it's out.

And what's the alternative? The Acer x34? The freesync version of that display didn't release without issues, and the Acer XB270HU had a load of issues when it dropped, so much that they had to make a 2nd revision to it, and even that isn't issue free.

All brands at some point have released a monitor with higher than average Q/C issues. It doesn't really say anything about the brand themselves.

And NO tft display (ips/tn/va) is issue free, they can all have dead pixels or backlight bleed, or other issues.

If you want a 3440x1440 100Hz G Sync display, and you like the look of the Asus PG348Q, and you don't mind waiting a little longer for it to be released then you should go for that, if not and you don't want to wait your other option is the Acer x34

A quick look at Amazon says that the old Swift has 59% 5 stars and 28% 3 starts or less, out of 198 voters.

Meaning that 2/3 of the users liked the monitor, so its not that bad.

But I would still wait for the new one to come out. Even if nothing else, to hope for a price drop on the old one.

I speak my mind, sorry if thats a problem.
