Video games age ratings to high.

Most of the time I see the rating being too low  :mellow:

They are just a rating not a rule, no one really abides to them. 

Though I'm not endorsing kids to play all 18+ rated games out there, when a kid is allowed a game is up to the parents really.

So yeah I'm fine with the rating. 

 

I think they should be enforced. Sorry, but I don't think kids should be playing games like BF4 and GTA V.

Even when ratings are a bit high, it helps to keep 12 year olds off servers. Anyway, this seems like less of a pc issue and more of a console issue, due to being able to lie about your age when buying games online.

I dont see why BF4 is rated an 18 all though I can understand why GTA V is, strip club.

There is also the element of war implimented on BF4 and COD respectably, most 12 years old don't understand what war and death means so that's why they are advised against playing these games.

Of course for example, you can't put a 12 year old to play MKX, that's just absurd and i'm not talking gameplay wise.

I think when you turn 10 your parents should give you a test to see how mature you are and what games you should be able to play. But hey, Murica is going to be freakin' Murica.

I rarely see games rated T for teen. Games like cod, battlefield, counter strike, etc should be rated T instead of M

i'm 13 it really depends on the maturity of the person plus i like Simulator and racing games better than stuff like call of duty played it once on the x360 and hated it

For me, ratings depends upon the person who are going to play the game. Here in India, I've seen child ages of around 12-13 playing GTA, God of War and games like that and not even a single problem with that! Yes not a single one. There is no case of anything wrong they've done in years!

I showed my parents a BF4 multiplayer game play without telling them the age rating for it and they guessed about a 12/13 age rating for the game.

I think the rating system is a little bit arbitrary. you get games like bf4 that are rated the same as gta 5 when they are clearly not in the same category of bad for kids

BF4 should be 15+. Games like GTA V should be 18+, anyone that says otherwise is not 18+ and really want their parents to buy it for them.

I think that there should be no ratings on gore, just advice. However games that are stressful or involve team play should not be allowed. Just look what minecraft has done, the way small children are obsessed with them but it is OK because it is non violent?! Yeah right.

Depends on the country.
The US/EU system is totally fine the German system on the other hand is horrible and needs to be changed.
As an example Mortal Kombat is not allowed to be sold in Germany and Sleeping Dogs was cut to a point where it was barely playable.
And playing Wolfenstein without any Nazi stuff also throws of the whole theme especially annoying since they allow it in movies.
As well as the fact that the ratings aren't guidelines for the parents in Germany but an actual law that can get fined if you buy your kid a game higher rated than their age.(Even though I've never heard anyone actually get fined for it)

Good examples for bad ratings are Star Wars The Force Unleashed 2 and Star Wars Battlefront 2 which both are rated 16+.

Are you high? Out of all the murder, mayhem and theft that goes on in GTA as a series, it's the fucking strip club you have a problem with the children seeing?
