How to Know when Pixels don't work

CharlieMR

I just wonder how do I notice that a pixel doesn't work in my monitor... cause I imagine Pixels are pretty small right? Thx.

To see if you have dead/idle pixels, use plain color images to see if there are any that stick out. Use colors like white, black, blue, red, yellow, etc. If there are any, you would easily catch them with your eye, unless they are like in a corner of your monitor or something.

Unless you don't notice, you're fine :P but you can find apps that are designed to help you spot them and then try to exercise them back to working shape

well if you look at something bright it'll be the dark spot or if you have something red itll show as green or blue or a linear combo of the two.

One thing to add: If you don't know you have a dead pixel, it won't bother you. If you become aware of a dead pixel, it will annoy the [insert profanity here] out of you.

In this case, ignorance is bliss!

Can you take a photograph? In my experience a dead pixel looks something like this

Download Dead Pixel buddy and go thru every single color and just scan the monitor for anything that doesn't look like the rest, it'll most likely have different color or be dark.

There is also an old NCIXtechtips about this, here you go:
