Antimalware Service Executable taking 1.2 GBs of ram

Are there any solutions to decrease the ram usage? I was just deleting files. (The program is a part of windows defender btw

Had a similar problem in my computer, it used 700-800mb of RAM and some CPU% and it disappeard when I "released" a file that it had put in quarantine. Someone told me on a Microsoft forum that it was running a scan in the folder endlessly ("someone told me" basically means I don't know if it's true)
