outlook and links in mail

ok..so new user to win 10 , I stalled as long as I could , but new rig demanded it

ok , here is my problem , using the build in mail , it wont open any links in the mail , I figured out it will , if I pick explorer as my " standard " browser , but who the beep wants that...

is there a work around that.. I tried the add htmlfile in the registry to no avail..
