DisplayPort 1.4 Only allowing 60hz option when switching to anything above 60hz dp signal not found (Monitor AlienwareAW2518HF, Gpu Asus Strix 2080Ti)

Specs:
Gpu - Strix 2080 Ti
Cpu - i9-9900k

Monitor - Alienware aw2518hf

This monitor is supposed to support 1920 x 1080 240hz through dp cable, I bought a vesa certified displayport 1.4 cable from club3d so I should be able to run 240hz on this monitor. Whenever I try switching to 240hz or anything above 60hz the screen goes black and says there is no dp input, I already tried to ddu but that didint work. plz help lol.

Updating the Firmware should solve it.

I already tried downloading these earlier, but it still didn't fix the problem.

Did you install it too? And are you sure you´ve set the Hz in the Panel?

Yes theres this file called CFVF0 with an application called Dell Monitor Driver Installer, so I just clicked that and it said the drivers were installed, I tried setting the hz to 240 on both nvidia control panel and the windows display settings.

For now, try 144Hz and see if this works.

Anything above 60hz just gives me a black screen and says dp signal not found

Have you enabled intel graphics in the mobo by chance? I had a friend having issues while trying to run a 144hz screen when his i-gpu on the 9700K was on.

After disableing the dual GPU configuration in bios he was able to just feed everything through his GPU (2080)

Planning on trying StarCitizen (Highly recommended)? STAR-NR5P-CJFR is my referal link

You have the right cable, you have the right Firmware. And you say you´ve set all settings correct. The last thing i can think of atm is a bad PSU cable and the Powersupply goes off when try to reach higher Hz. Try another if your PSU have some. Thats i wild guess tho.

Otherwise Contact Dell Support.

It may just need a reset; try unplugging the monitor from power for 10 seconds or so.

none of this worked sadly
