Remote Monitoring issues F@H. Cant connect to Internet Clients

So as you may have noticed I am all into cloud folding and I am running several GCloud, Azure and other servers to fold with.

I can do everything via SSH on them, but I am not able to connect to them via HFM.net or the normal client on my local box (windows). Wich firewall rules do I need to set up to get this working?

THX,

Metallus

So you don’t need gpu’s yourself to fold? But rather ‘rent’ it from companies like google / amazon? (Interested in the part of cloud folding)

-snip-

yeh I did read this post... but I am confused. To access my server with HFM: Do I need 7396? ?

I have enabled it in the config via

<!-- HTTP Server -->
  <allow v='0/0'/>
  <password v='myhttppasshere'/>

so HTTP server=7396?

What you need is just TCP 36330 but the naming in the config file is quite confusing. It appears the one labelled "HTTP Server" is the output from the FAHControl dialog box "Passwordless IP Address Restriction" which is necessary for local systems to access without a password but I'm assuming you will want a password on these unless you have a fixed IP address where you are monitoring from.

So what you should need is:

  <!-- Remote Command Server -->
  <command-allow-no-pass v='127.0.0.1 0/0'/>
  <password v='***************'/>

Works, THANKS! But only the CPU slot is showing up... I have 2x1080 in there but they are not coming up. Anny idea what this might be? And it doesn't care about PW? Also it cant fetch the percentage on the slot. Project, Core, Version etc is showing up but no Progress. Sits at 0 but acording to the server the status is 70%. Using HFM.Net. F@H control however is able to fetch all information, but only CPU slot...

Also: The readout for the progress % of the Client on the server and in the monitoring app have huge differences... how can that be?

They all work through TCP 36330 so I'm not certain why your getting only some of the slots and different percentages. If it shows up running the

FAHClient --send-command slot-info
FAHClient --send-command queue-info

on the server or by

telnet 127.0.0.1 36330
slot-info
queue-info
quit

Then it should also show up in a remote FAHControl or HFM.net session. Only thing I can think is it's really slow.

Try telnetting from a local system to the remote host and running slot-info

telnet <remote host ip> 36330
slot-info
queue-info
quit

and see if it's slow to display
