Ultrawide vs 2 16:9

TheHiddenCreeper

Im looking to upgrade my monitor setup from two old horrible tn 1080p monitors. I primarily focus on content creation and coding/development and game on the side. Any recommendations on whether i should continue with two 1080p's or look at a 1440p ultrawide or 2 1440s? My budget is around 350$

Edit: My rig is a i7-5820k and a gtx 1080

Cpu: Intel i7-5820k at 4.6 Ghz // Motherboard: Asus X99 Pro // Ram: 32gb of Crucial Balistix at 2400 Mhz // Gpu: GTX 1080 Founders Edtion // SSD: Samsung 850 evo 250gb, Samsung 950 pro 256 gb, // Cooler: Cooler Master ml240r // Case: NZXT h500i

Personally I'd go with 1 ultrawide. It's less work to setup, no bezels in the middle, you don't have issues with color matching 2 monitors etc.

Asrock 890GX Extreme 3 - AMD Phenom II X4 955 @3.50GHz - Arctic Cooling Freezer XTREME Rev.2 - 4GB Kingston HyperX - AMD Radeon HD7850 - Kingston V300 240GB - Samsung Spinpoint F3 1TB - Chieftec APS-750 - Cooler Master HAF912 PLUS

Any recommendations on a monitor and should it be a 1440p or 1080p?

in your budget you'll probably find the 29" LG ones (don't know the exact model) and 1080p should be perfectly fine for that size. In case you want larger ones (34") you would want to step up to 1440p but that will get you over your budget real quick.

I would still rather have two monitors for differnt applications it sounds like you use your computer for a vast majority of tasks so why not get the best of both worlds?  For your content creation and computing use coding etc get a 1440p or 4k 27" monitor with a nice IPS panel for color accuracy and for your second monitor get a decent gaming monitor at 144hz 1ms 27" 1080p or 1440p if you can afford it.  This is what I would do.

EDIT: sorry I did not see your budget..  I would still go for two and maybe just buy them separately and save some cash up for next one.   I bought my wife a 27" Benq IPS 1440p monitor for under $300.00 and its a fantastic monitor I was blown away with the colours compared to my gaming ASUS monitor (MG248Q)

My wife is a graphic designer and enjoys working on the BENQ
