RAM Overclocking

I've never overclocked ram before and I don't want to use XMP. Can I just bump from 2400 to 2666 and leave the rest on auto? Will i get a performance increase? idk what I'm doing with this never overclocked ram before and I can't find a video from a reliable youtube channel.

Any advice would be appreciated.

bump voltage to 1,4 volts and plug in the speed 2933mhz or 3000mnhz. 

 

that should yield some good results

 

no need to touch the rest

I think linus has one with 1st ryzen gen also

Forgot to mention its hyper x fury ddr4 2400, is 1.4 going to be too much? I see most people using 1.3-1.35

Will I get away with a lower voltage like 1.3 or 1.35

Probably, but 1,4 volts is just fine aswell. It will be down to how much you want to tweak. Just dont do more than 1,45 volts

1,4 volts is just more the "click and forget" path. With tweaking you can probably get more by tweaking the voltage.

Iirc, that is the one. 

 

I think you change the one next to XMP though instead. Since it is Ram overclocking. 

 

XMP should dissabled and whe it is you should be able to input Voltage and speed there

Its different depending on the motgerboard vendor.

I set dram voltage to 1.3v and 2933, is aida64 system memory test good enough to run overnight? And is there a way to monitor errors

If it error it should crash. There are memmory tests you can run. If its stable for 2 hours its most likely fine

Been running aida64 for 8hrs, getting lower cinebench score.

What are memmory timings at? They should be at 16-xx-xx-xx or 15-xx-xx-xx.
