CPu Temperatures

hey guys, my cpu temperatures are going upto 90c while gaming, do i really need to buy cpu cooler to maintain my temperatures while gaming?

what is the ideal CPU temp at gaming?

what is the red zone temp? for Cpu's

and finally which is the best app to check temperatures and stuff because i am using Msi after burn and Intel tuning utility both show different temps which varies up to 5 to 10c sometimes

Mobo :-  gigabyte b150m-ds3h-cf

Ram :- 12 gb DDr4 - 2133 cl 14 288

Gpu:- ASUS ROG Strix Gaming RX 570 OC 4GB

are you using stock intel cooler, if so, buy a better one

Ideally your temps would go up to less than 85C under a synthetic cpu load (prime95, aida64, etc) and would be under 80 in any game, but technically the chip shouldn't degrade under 100C on Intel, 95C on Ryzen/Threadripper. I'm a fan of HWiNFO for checking temps.

Cord temp is quite good for checking, it even tells you the tjmax and the current temps are shown in yellow and red when they‘re too high

How about cleaning your PC and replacing the thermal paste? That would lower your temperatures back to normal.

seems like my thermal paste has been dried up pretty bad is this the reason for overheating??

yeah man now the temps are at bay, guess i dont need any CPU cooler

A better cooler is always recommended.

 

What you need is dust filters for the intake fans.
