https://www.asrock.com/mb/AMD/X570M Pro4/ Currently in the process of building a server/NAS and after days upon upon days of searching for a decent motherboard I have came across the Asrock X570M Pro 4. Has all the specs I'm looking for, 8 SATA ports, 2 PCIe 4.0 X 16 slots, 2 hyper M.2 ports etc. I have read that it had a shaky release with some issues in relation to fan control. But it is quite old now and is still getting BIOS updates (as recent as January 2024) Was wondering has anyone used this board for a NAS/Server setup, all information is greatly appreciated!

Hey All! IDK if this is the place to post this, but I would love some guidance on how I should proceed in getting a MOBO replacement. TL;DR - My Asus Tuf Gaming X570 PRO-Wifi has died yesterday and my warrenty expired back in October 2023. After reaching out to Asus, I have determine that my choices are to either send it in for repair (which they said could cost anywhere from $75-$200 depending on the hardware issue) or purchase a replacement (either new or used). I would Like some advice on If I should send my board in for repairs, or just say "screw it" and buy a different one. My current system core components are: AMD Ryzen 9 5900x Radeon RX 6900xt 64gb (2x32gb) of Crucial Ballistix 3600mhz cl16 RAM Samsung 980 Pro 1TB SSD (OS) Crucial P5 plus 4TB (games and projects) Corsair RMx1000 PSU The key features I want/need on my MOBO are: 2.5g Lan Onboard Wifi 6 or higher + bluetooth two M.2 slots (at least one being PCIe 4.0) USB 3.2 Gen 2 USB-C Front panel connector So far I have narrowed down my choices to the following MOBO under $200: New Boards w/ 3 Yr Warranties: Gigabyte B550 AORUS ELITE AX V2 ($140) MSI MAG B550 TOMAHAWK MAX WIFI ($160) Used Boards w/o Warranties: MSI MAG X570S Tomahawk Max WIFI ($175) ROG STRIX X570-E GAMING WIFI II ($200) I am leaning towards buying the Gigabyte board, as it does like 80% of what my old board did, comes with a new warranty, and it seems like the best bang for the buck. However, I am not opposed to sending my board for repair. I have a laptop and an Xbox Series X, so I'm not deviceless on the computing and gaming front, but I dont know if its worth it to potential spend the same amount of money to repair it as it would cost to just by a replacement. As for used options, I am hesitant. While they are high end MOBO's, and newer than my current one, I have heard a lot of horror stories in regards to used boards, and I don't necessarily what to be in a similar situation in a year or so (at that point, it might make more sense to just upgrade to the AM5 platform). So, what do you guys think I should do, should I go new, used, or repaired? I am also open to different options/perspectives if you have them! I dont REALLY want to change platforms rn, but if you have differnet MOBO suggestion, I am all ears!

My motherboard (Gigabyte Aorus X570s Master)'s rear ports can't recognize my keyboard and mouse plugged into its USB 3 ports in UEFI/bootloader. In this picture, the only ports I have yet to try are the USB 2.0 (few years ago, my keyboard or mouse doesn't seem to power at all, IIRC) & the USB-C. Front panel ports are confirmed to be working in UEFI/bootloader. All ports are working when it's fully booted on Kubuntu. What's the purpose of the blue one with "BIOS"?

Essentially what I want is a new motherboard that doesn't feel like I'm downgrading my motherboard but it costs less than my taichi mb. I spent around $270 for that mb and It was a good board but I don't want to spend that much again for an older generation cpu. I bought my mb 3 years ago and I'm pretty sure it's out of warranty by now. The most important thing for my new mb is that it has 3 m.2 slots since I have 3 ssds.

Hello! I got a faulty Asus PRIME X570-PRO motherboard, and I'm trying to identify the root cause of the issue. Symptoms: when the power supply is connected the board, the RGB lights from I/O and chipset do turn on when I try to power on the system, the fan on the CPU and chipset do turn on the system does not POST-s, there is no Video output there is no activity on the Asus QLED indicators (DRAM, CPU, VGA, BOOT remain all Off) the system does not Turns Off / Reset from the Power / Reset switches (with long hold) - need to power cycle the PSU for Turn Off Tried two different CPU-s: Ryzen 5 3400G (2nd get with graphics) and Ryzen 5 3600 (3rd gen). RAM: G.SKILL F4-3200C16D-32GVK, DDR4-3200 16GB GPU: Radeon RX 4600 (tried with and without external GPU) PSU: 550W, 24 pin (MB) + 8 pin (CPU) connected (all the above components are known good) Tried CMOS reset, both with jumper and battery removal method. Any ideas what could be wrong? Is the lack of activity on the Asus QLED-s indicate something? Maybe a corrupted BIOS, or an electrical fault? In case of an electrical fault is there any chance to get a schematics (or repair guide) for the board? Thanks, Attila

Hey guysI just bought a bunch of new components and couldn't get the build to power on. I put everything together and couldn't get anything to power on, the PSU wouldn't even turn on when connected to the motherboard but would power on with the paperclip test. I couldn't jump the motherboard, tried different ram seatings, 1 stick of ram in different seatings, checked GPU on my old motherboard and double-checked PSU at the same time, made sure fans weren't shorting the motherboard. The only things I couldn't check individually were the RAM and CPU as my previous board is an intel B360 Gaming Plus board and only supports up to 2666mhz. I've returned the board and their testing team has said they couldn't replicate the fault and that the board has no issues. The components I bought wereGigabyte X570 gaming + motherboardAMD ryzen 7 3800x CPU16gb DDR4 FlareX ram @ 3200mhzThe components I added wereCougar GX800 V3 800W 80+ gold PSURX Vega 64Do you guys have any idea what could be causing the issue? need help urgentlyThanks in advance Should add that the PSU and GPU are in the computer I'm using now and working perfectly

So I try to install windows on this PC Asus x570 tuf plus Ryzen 9 3900X 32GB (4*8) Gskill trident Z RGB 3200 cl14 RX 5700 XT nitro+ Sabrent rocket 1TB nvme I do this over USB 3.2 using a 32GB kingstone flash drive that works perfectly fine and I used the official microsoft media creation tool Motherboard sees the nvm drive just fine (before that on the same computer I had a windows installation already running on an SSD and I could browse the nvme and transfere files to it without issue) passes all the test... I trid setting compatibility mode from auto to gen3 I trid disabling the AMI nvme support. MoBo is up to date. I tried stripping off everything (only 1 8gb ram stick no other devices or SSD/HDDs connected only the graphics card) What happens is that on "where do you want to install windows" window I can see the nvme I delete all the partitions (from previous failed install attempts) I create a new disk (and windows makes its own small partitions) then I format the main bulk of the disk then I click next.. On the first installation window (image not from my computer just for reference) The "copying windows files" procedure happens instantly ok the flash drive is fast the usb 3.2 connection is fast the nvme is fast but I mean really it takes 0 to 2 seconds max I doubt it could have really copy that from the flash drive that fast.. the the "getting files ready for installation " part takes reasonable time.. then everything seems to finish fine and a pop up window tells me that the pc is going to restart in 10 seconds or so... pc restarts windows logo .. "preparing things for you or what not" 10% --> 40%---> 80% boom BSOD with error code bugcode_ndis_driver !! its like the 7th time I try stuff and nothing works.. the worst part is that the computer parts are brand new and that a couple of hours ago windows (on the other ssd I initially had as main one) worked fine with no issues what so ever!!!! Please tell me that you have a hinch on whats going on here because I am tired worked all day and now I have to face this P.S I also tried to install windows by clicking "I dont have a product key" incase it conflicts somehow because the mobo used to have a windows license ssd installed

Having an issue with a new PC build. After I power it on it runs through boot sequence and runs through all the LED indicators on motherboard, then within about 5 seconds of launching BIOS or start g Windows 11 USB install it powers off. Then if I try to power it back on it dies sooner, only. Making it thru 1 or 3 of the boot sequence leds on the motherboard. If I turn off power supply and let power drain and then powr back on it will make it thru boot sequence leds, begin to try to install windows again and does a few seconds later. I've checked all cable contacts, I have tried swapping out ram from another machine I have, tried using a different video card, moved video card to another pcie slot. Completely baffled at this point. Possibly a bad power supply or cpu? Thanks in advance for any help! Components listed below... Had this combo for a while now, don't really have any issues (although I get random stutters every now and then, not sure if this is because of it) just wondering if it's worth upgrading the motherboard to an x570/s. I use 2 m.2's and a sata SSD currently, but will eventually use all 3 m.2 slots instead as I understand this would be the main reason to upgrade since the m.2's would use the chipset instead correct? PC Is used for gaming and heavy multi tasking. 5950x b550 aorus master RTX 3080 32gb RAM

Hey, seems I'm making one of these again... I have an ASUS x570-E Gaming board. Yesterday I used the PC normally, without issues. Today it refused to start. It wasn't even willing to post, just threw a 1F error. Removed the CMOS battery, shorted the reset pins, took the graphics card out and put an old r7 250 in, but none of these helped. I checked the site, there was a new BIOS released 3 days ago, figured I'll install that through BIOS Flashback, maybe there was something important in it. Now I'm getting a 22 code, which seems RAM related. So I tried different sticks in different slots, tried with only 1 stick, tried without ram, nothing. This borad feels like a brittle POS. It took me almost 2 weeks to troubleshoot all the issues it had back when I put it in. It's barely been 2 month and it's started again. Full specs: Ryzen 9 5950x 4x8GB G.Skill Trident Z INNO3d RTX 4090 EVGA 1000GT 80+ Gold Alpenföhn 360AIO for the CPU. Any Ideas on what I could do with this garbage other than throwing it out?

Hey so i tried to make sense of this manual https://www.asus.com/supportonly/prime x570-pro/helpdesk_manual/ but it didnt give me a clear answer to this question. Does having my GPU on the bottom row affect its performance? its listed as pcie 4.0 and the 2 others are as "pcie 4.0/3.0" the manual is also referencing the two of them when comparing "1 gpu" vs "2gpu" on how the lanes differ, but they only use the top row and the second top rown when comparing, not the bottom row. so anyone with knowledge, am i losing anything by having my 6750XT on the bottom row? (top row the little know which locks the gpu in place is broken, 2nd row the gpu is so big it squishes the small cooler on the mobo, so 3rd slot is only one usable)

Hey there. I've recently bought a Zotac RTX 4080 AMP but I can't get my x570 mobo to detect it. The PC boots up just fine but there are no display adapters in device manager. My CPU doesn't have an integrated GPU so I use Teamviewer to connect to the PC. I had a GTX1060 and an old HD6450 laying around and those work with no issues. I previously had an RTX 2080 Ti back when this PC had a custom water cooling loop, but it stopped working after I've reinstalled its original air cooler and shipped it across Europe. Now that I got the 4080 and I'm still having issues, I tested the 2080 Ti again and noticed it's the same exact problem. So far I've tried upgrading my BIOS to the latest version, clearing CMOS, forcing PCIe 3.0/4.0, swapping to the 2nd PCIe slot, unplugging one of the 3 8pin power cables from the 16pin adapter, uninstalling GPU drivers with DDU and uninstalling all my NVMe drives. The GPU is getting power as the LEDs light up and the fans spin. I tried both the 2080 Ti and the 4080 with all of the changes. I do not have another PC to test the 2 GPUs in. If anything at all comes to mind, plase let me know. System specs CPU: AMD R9 3950x Mobo: Gigabyte x570 aorus xtreme RAM: G. Hello all, I have an AM4 X570 system with the following configuraton: CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 5800X Motherboard: GIGABYTE X570 AORUS Elite Memory: 4x 8 GB Corsair DDR4 3200 MHz GPU: AMD Radeon RX 6700 XT I wanted to update my BIOS from F38a to F38b, I removed the CMOS battery from the board, waited for it to clear and put it back in so I could go into Q-Flash and flash the new BIOS, on stock settings. However, upon trying to power up the system, it never seemed to complete the POST. Fans spin, motherboard LEDs turn on, CPU & GPU were getting warm - but even after waiting 5-10 minutes the system never got to the UEFI BIOS. I was banging my head against the wall trying to work out what the issue was, swapping memory modules around, reseating the GPU, etc. This is rather difficult as board vendors like to not include PC BIOS speakers in the box these days... However, through some trial and error I found my system boots with 1 or 2 sticks of memory - but not any more. I can't populate 3 or 4 slots any more. This is odd as I've been running these memory modules at their XMP profile speed of 3200 MHz for over a year with no issue. I tried an individual stick in each one of the slots to ensure the slot or channel wasn't dead - and sure enough they all still work. It is also important to note at this point that even though all of these modules are CMK16GX4M2B3200, they're two separate kits. They all have the same SPD data when read out. Same JEDEC standard speeds, same exact XMP profile on both. Same voltages. Same everything, except for the fact two sticks are version 4.32 (supposedly Samsung C-die memory) and the other two are version 5.39 (supposedly Hynix M-die). What's confusing to me is that this setup was working fine for almost 2 years with no issue at all, but one clear-of-the-BIOS-settings later and it doesn't even boot. I'm at a total loss. I was reading online about increasing memory voltage or SOC voltage or IO die voltage but I've never touched those settings and don't know what the safe ranges are or what's recommended. I hadn't needed to before as it was working fine on Auto everything and XMP enabled. The system works with 1 stick or 2 stick in any configuration - but NOT if I mix the 4.32 and 5.39 sticks. Any help or potential solutions are much much appreciated. Thank you.

ok long story short, asus x570 wifi viii or whatever. 5900x, used to be OC'd but since this problem, ugh. recently got a 4090 strix OC blah blah. tossed on a waterblock, now it fits. 1000w seasonic psu plus a 6700, 2x nvmes, 8x sata ssd's, i mean my case is packed full of stuff. prior to my 4090 install i had it overclocked at 4.9 running steady/stable. now just running nordvpn/utorrent my pc blows up randomly at 4.6ghz and nothing special in the bios - eliminating points of failure. the Q-code goes to 00, yet all the "rgb" stays lit up. force restart then shes ok for a good few hours. ill run these apps and swap my input to the ps5 and let the other 2 monitors display progress/taskman. utorrent even crashes randomly which is why i "need" the other 2 screens working - off of my 6700xt. weird thing is the last few days i have been on F1 2022 and it gets hot as (bleep) in here but the pc never crashes. I got tired of playing then swapped to safari/youtube. maybe an hour in the pc blows up again. Checked event log and its a bunch of ethernet trash before the random pc crashes. Its hard to tell the exact time of said crash due to the boot up taking less than 15 seconds. I imagine im drawing too much power? As i said i used to have this thing massively overclocked, not to mention a 6700xt (still inside), 6600 and a quadro 4000. Suddenly im having issues with a barebones "overclock"??? Ordered a 1500 platinum, that will be tons of fun... So how can I diagnose whats crashing the PC? It has to be power, i cant think of anything else that would have made such a change. Sure, pushing to 5.2 would explain a blow up - but 4.6 and no overclocking on either gpu? Should be noted my tor files goto the sata drives (raid) - so having 4 on raid 10 and 4 as global spares might also be cause for power issues... Ideas appreciated! Thanks peeps

Can this issue corrupt files in Windows 11? Intermittent System Stutter Experienced with fTPM Enabled on Windows® 10 and 11 Or maybe this one? SCEP Certificate Enrollment Initialization Errors Are Back Again w/ Windows 11 22H2 I have an AMD setup that had been fine for the last 2 years or so but a few months back I upgraded to Win11 on a work boot drive and a boot drive for gaming. Both are NVMe SSDs. About a month ago I had a few large CD ISO files go bad and had to download them again. Then a few weeks ago a number of VM files went missing and others were corrupted 0 bytes. Out of 6 VMs only one showed up in VMware Workstation and had all the files but still would not boot. Luckily I'd just backed them up to the NAS. I don't know if the RAM or CPU are having issues. I ran Prime95 for a few days with no errors. Also ran MemTest86 a few times. I'd not looked at motherboard firmware for some time and sure enough there was one for the AMD fTPM issue. After installing it the system seems a little more responsive. The second data loss and corruption was with the VMs files. On Friday I backed them all up and then when I went to use it again on Monday files where missing and others corrupt. Over that weekend I did use the PC but I used the other boot drive for that. I've had it setup this way almost 3 years. The work boot SSD is not mounted in when using the gaming boot drive. I don't have any hacked apps just play games from Steam and Epic and so on. But the VMs are on that game boot drive. About a month ago I upgraded from a 2TB SN850 to a 4TB SN850X. I've been using that Game boot drive from extra VM drive space with the 2TB and now the 4TB version. It seems fine but the system seemed fine for the last 3 years. Now I got two of the 1.8TB Samsung 990 Pro drives on sale. I removed the SN850 and SN850X SSDs. WD immediately offered to replace them both, but their site is all messed up at the moment. Just using the new 990 Pros. The SN850X is under the RTX4090. I'm running Win11 on the 2 new 990 Pro drives now. But today I got a Windows repair your drive message. chkdsk had many errors in the Windows Event log has lots of Recovering orphaned file and Found corrupt basic file structure. I also get the SCEP Certificate enrollment initialization Event message. Hello all, my pc buddy isn’t responding. Probably out doing stuff, oh well. Moving on.. what happened? Was using win 10 pro, had WSL kali, and Ubuntu going, both upgrading/fixing dependencies, and dist-upgrade. Had 2-3 tabs open in Firefox, one for college (blackboard), one was another for a radio station for music/background noise, and another prob related to college stuff. Word was also open so I was probably doing a virtual lab on JBLEARNING.com. So, follow instructions, do a screenshot and paste into word. As all of this was going on, hey my amd 6700xt and 6600 have a new driver available, let’s install it! So it’s installing while all this is going on, then BSOD, not sure how far into the install but I specifically remember the error code was amd*(gpu-related).dll, yada yada please wait while we report to msft and reboot for you. Pc reboots, no gpu output as expected. The ROG logo showed up (booting windows), and screen goes blank. I presume Windows loaded fine and was on the login screen, but of course couldn’t see it. fudge right? No onboard output, so wtf. what have I tried? -Reboot, then I force it to do the Windows “diagnose” BS. Go into CMD from there as the objective is clearly to remove the AMD drivers and fall back to basic display adapter. Well, diskpart shows my two nvmes when in reality the two 1tbs should be “one” physical drive as it’s raid 1. Hmm, looks like this pre-Windows boot isn’t loading the NVMe RAID drivers so C:\ isn’t accessible. Damn! Can’t even go back to a restore point! -shoved a bootable win10 usb install disk into pc and boop, fires up. Goto the part where it wants u to pick a drive to install on. Hey there’s my 2 nvmes! Then I shove in my AMD RAID usb, install the drivers, bam, there’s my partitions. Cool. Shift+F10 (I think) to get into CMD. Well fudge, the raid drive is there just not “mounted”, as in can’t access the media/file system. Shoot! -rotate my chair 90 degrees, now I’m playing off my server (2022 datacenter) off a kvm switch as it’s in the basement not the 2nd floor office. Hmm…. Ok let’s make a Windows 2 go flash drive. Fire up Rufus, make the drive, shove into pc n reboot. (Long time later) windows desktop. Ok, now we’re getting somewhere? Diskpart shows the two nvmes yet again. As expected, no access. That’s ok, I’ll just install the raid chipset drivers and the raidx utility from AMD. Reboot, wtf? Still can’t access the “drive”. -Alright so now obv we have an issue. Shutdown, insert my hiren boot “cd”, Windows PE fires up fine. Of course I can’t install the NVMe raid drivers since it’s such a lightweight version of Windows (figured I’d try). Sure enough diskpart shows the nvmes again but no access to C:\ or whatever letter it would assign if the array was functioning properly. Now I’m using some tool for data recovery to “deep scan” one of the drives. Hopefully I can just get to my desktop folder and copy my “college” folder as that’s where all my assignments and stuff are. That’s really all I care about salvaging. Probably less than 200 meg of data. It’s still scanning, drive is in good Health and it’s happy. (Still going as of now) -the weird thing i have 8x 1tb Samsung SSDs, 7 are EVO’s and 1 is a QVO - all identical firmware. Anywho, 4 of those are on raid 10 which pull up as a drive letter (I use it to store backups as for some reason the SATA raid never has a problem, even without drivers windows 2 go can see it and I can access). Also the other 4 drives are deticated hot spares (global spares?) just in case - right?? Been there before, had a SSD/HDD setup before on 10 and one drive pooped, another, then u guessed it, everything went to the trash and I swapped my config. -what I probably should have tried remember initially how windows WOULD boot but no output? Assumed it was sitting at the login screen? Well, should have tried to RDP from the server to the pc. It has a static IP of 192.168.1.19. Maybe I could have pulled up the GUI off the server and reinstalled the AMD video drivers -here is also a consideration, but I’d like solid advice on this one as again, it’s crucial data I want to recover - a whopping 200mb or less. go into bios, set to ACHI (on nvme’s), make one of two dynamic so I can *maybe* access the drive. I mean, they’re raid 1 so it’s a 100% mirror right? In theory it should work ALTHOUGH when setting up the array in the bios (NVMe, sata, don’t matter) the drives need to be unformatted Blah blah. Also, they need to be “initialized” in preparation for making the array. This leads me to beleive the bios is writing data to the drives making them say, hey I’m gonna be a member of an array, I’m special. Then ya make the array and now they’re “bound”, blood brothers I guess. So with that said, the drives must have a portion of data written saying “that other guy who matches my data signature is also me, I can’t work alone”. Of course whatever data it is, has to be stored at the very beginning of the drive in raw storage. Idk let’s say it’s only 128kb worth of code or something. U have the NVMe firmware and whatever else specific to the drive (serial number, sequence data blah blah) then that part of code associating this drive to that one, and then of course all your data - efi partition, NTFS partition, and all the other stupid ones Windows tosses in there. -so where to go from here? ideally, I’d like to break the array. I’ve contemplated simply removing one of the sticks (after disabling raid and selecting ACHI) and see if it can figure out wtf is going on. Or perhaps leaving raid on (that little part of data right?), then removing one of them. Maybe bios will see one drive is “down” and figure it out? -things to consider in bios AND windows 2 go, the NVMe raid array is “offline” - zero clue why. I didn’t mess with anything in there as of yet. Well actually no, I did clear the cmos but that still retained the raid arrays. Again, the sata array shows up totally fine, it’s online and happy, all the spares show up too. But wtf is going on with the NVMe raid?? NOTE, the cmos was not cleared until after I did the whole win2go/install raid drivers/reboot/check to see if I can access the “drive” any ideas? It be nice if I could just salvage my college folder at a bare minimum. After that, then try to recover one of the disks as a whole (so Windows can physically mount it as a letter) and remove that half-installed driver. also under disk management (computer management, whatever), the drives do pull up but for me to assign a drive letter I need to convert one of em to dynamic, from gpt. From what I’ve read online when u go dynamic u can’t convert back to gpt. Basically, I’m not quite sure if it’ll help or set me back even further. after all, it would be nice just to get windows back n working like it was yesterday prior to the BSOD. I don’t mind a fresh format either, so long as I have my college folder (finals are in like a week). -Pc specs x570 asus/rog dark hero WIFI on 4402 bios (latest last I checked, feb 02 of 2023 I beleive) 5900x OCd to 4.25 bclock set to 101.25 (could be lower now, probably just 100, not that it matters) 4x Corsair dominators, 3600, 64gb total (16g each) with docp enabled Xfx 6700ti and another xfx 6600 1000w seasonic 80 gold psu a (bleep) load of watercooling stuff. Let’s just say over 1800mm worth of radiators. Yes my case is packed! a crapload of fans, forget the brand, but non RGB. I do know they do 2500rpm, the 120mm’s at least. Same model line, 5x 140mm fans, just a tad slower but fastest fans I could find. They all match so yeah, irrelevant but good to know? 2x Kingston fury (rampage?) 1tb nvmes, latest firmware last I checked. Made in same country, same model, everything is identical about those aside from serial number 8x Samsung’s on raid10 (sata) as mentioned, no need for further details on those. They all match but one which is one of 4 global spares hardware NOT installed yet, or ever (could be helpful for anybody that has ideas) -one gigabyte NVMe pci-e 4.0 16x enclosure packed with 2x 980 pros and 2x Kingston rampages (fury’s, whatever) here’s the copy/paste off Amazon if you’d like to look it up ”GC-4XM2G4 (AORUS Gen4 AIC Adaptor, Full PCIe 4.0, Advanced Thermal Solution for PCIe 4.0 SSD)” ^again, never installed in pc, never setup, nothing. Just put the drives in the enclosure, closed it up and it’s sitting on top my case waiting to be installed after this mess is figured out. oh and should this get fixed, should I just put all 4 of my Kingston’s into that and put the two 980s on the motherboard? I plan on raid’ing the enclosure thingy - IF it has an onboard raid controller (that will eliminate the need for drivers as it’s made for my motherboard) Should it work, assuming butrificatuon isn’t a problem, put my main OS on that? How should I configure my HD’s in relation to my default boot drive? geez sorry for the long story. Still waiting on this hiren app to deep scan the drive anyway, thanks in advance. I really really need some help on this one, very very desperate OH and the server is literally a server, idk if it helps with ideas but yeah. It’s got like 10 NICs on her, U2 form factor, dual Xeon somethings, 384ish gb of ddr3, registered, ecc, blah blah. There’s also a quadro rtx 4000 in it, which I probably should have just shoved in my pc had I thought about it back then…. Full ipmi access, latest firmware. Supermicro something. So I could always do pxe boot, although I don’t quite understand how to mount a iso thru the interface as it wants a location, like \\yadayada\this.iso. I imagine it wants either \\Server\SAS-RAID\Downloads\ISOs\windows10.iso OR like linux, \\pci{03840283957302947}\somestuff\morestuff\noidea\modelnumber\sda1\Downloads\ISOs\windows10.iso ^its also raided, Intel 120gb SSD as boot, 6x 1tb sata3 SSDs on raid 0, also another array, 8x seagate somethings, 2tb each on raid 0, SAS drives plus a WD direct access storage, 14tb strictly used ONLY for backups. I mean we got a lot of terabytes here on raid 0, so B/Us are done frequently just in case For right now it’s just a storage server, static ips are set. 2022 datacenter. After college is done with it’ll become a lot more, and I’ll toss in my other 2 laptops as servers doing different roles. (That’s why I have the kvm balun, once the laptops are setup as servers they’ll be wired to the supermicro and I’ll just RDP to each of them as needed) ugh ok that’s my bit. Help!!

I am building a new PC around the 5600X and 3080 and CRG9 Monitor. I read that it would be preferable to use the CRG9 with a Display port 1.4 and I also regularly play VR using a HTC VIVE, which requires an HDMI Port. PC Part Picker does not appear to allow you to filter based on HDMI and Display Port. Can anyone recommend an X570 that has the above requirements? How do you decide which Motherboard Brand is best? USB issues I believe. Need your advice. Thanks. System: Win 10 64 pro updates done & enabled 5900X X570 ASUS Dark Hero BIOS to 3401 AMD chipset driver 2.13.27.501 Here what the ASUS website said: "ROG CROSSHAIR VIII DARK HERO BIOS 3401 - Update AMD AM4 AGESA V2 PI 1.2.0.1 Patch A - Fix USB connectivity issue" As you can see above, I've updated Windows, the BIOS & x570 chipset driver. My usb powered external sound card Sound BlasterX G5 stopped working. I noticed it would only partially power on (a single led lit up but not all). At first I was able to plug it into a new port & it would all turn on again. Then later on, after the PC wakes from sleep, the G5 wouldn't turn back on. I tried other USB ports with none powering it on. So then I tried a USB stick to see if my ports were off. The stick worked and lit up. Occasionally if I plug the G5 into the same port the stick was in afterwards it will suddenly power on. Its not consistent and almost points to partial power being given to USB ports. So what gives? I guess Im having AMD x570 USB issues and cant find a fix. Help.

Hello there good ppl of the great forum-lands, Today I finally fulfilled my dream of assembling a decent gaming PC! asus rog strix x570e Motherboard 5600x; RTX 3070; 1tb (something-Evo) M.2 SSD, 32 Gigs of Gskill 3200 Mhz Ram topped off with a H115i AIO cooler. (Integrated Hardware from old Build: 1.CX600 PSU 2.850Evo 500GB SSD 3. WD Black 1TB HDD); 850 Evo still used as boot drive. Upon first boot eveything was fine. The Thing was running as fast as I had never seen before! Now I can't get windows to load up anymore. All of this started, when I tried to make the RAM run at 3.2 GHz. DIDNT WORK! The PC didnt even boot anymore. [I am dumb so I just typed in 3200MHz in Ramspeed] So I shut it down and Hard reset it via powering down + unplugging + taking out CMOS Battery. I waited a bit and I tried again. This time the PC did boot up again, so I tried using the DOCP Profile instead. Now the PC crashed againg and was stuck in its boot cycle again. I cleared the CMOS again, but I couldnt get it to give me a video output anymore. I have switched out the 3070 (was in 2.nd slot) for an old 1060 (now in first slot, all others empty) I am currently back to the bios. Now the Bios recognizes all drives (M.2, EVO, WD B) but can't boot from any of them anymore. "No Bootable Drives Detected" is the reoccurring response. What in the Lord Linus' name can I do now? I really wanted to finally play some flight sum :( I appreciate all the help! Thanks in advance! Adil

Hey guys, i am new here and this is my first post, so please bear with me plz :). I have the following setup: The problem is when i setup DOCP i get random results. sometimes the computer beeps and turns on into bios safe mode sometimes it boots just fine and windows is stable, I ran AIDA64 stability test for 8 hours and nothing crashed, problems happen only on boot up, once it boots not issues at all. I also believe i have a good cpu chip, the 5 way optimization gave me +34% performance increase to 4.5 GHz at 1.283 volts. Any idea what should i do to get the system stable? P.s: when i set DOCP i get fabric speed at 1800, should it be 2000? Thanks guys

Got a little problem. I can't access the UEFI / BIOS anymore, unless I reset the CMOS. The BIOS splash screen does not appear during boot-up, even tho fast boot is disabled. I have never the opportunity to even press F2 is I wanted. And if I hold it down during boot-up, it simply won't boot. If I hold down the shift-key while clicking restart in Windows 10 to get into the advanced settings and try to get into the UEFI from there, the PC simply end up in a boot loop. Interestingly enough I had this happen on another AsRock X570 board and with a Ryzen 2700 aswell. I wonder if my GPU plays a role in this or even my boot SSD. XMP and Thunderbolt 3 are enabled. CSM is disabled. Specs: AMD Ryzen 7 5800X AsRock X570 Taichi 2x 16GB 3000Mhz CL15 EVGA GTX 1080 Corsair MP300 1TB (C:) , Samsung PM9A1 2TB (D:) beQuiet super power or whatever 11 Platinum 750w (Same problem with an AX760i)

All, older and wiser (49), but having some trouble understanding how x570 motherboard manufacturers advertise 2x, 3x or even 4x PCI-e x16 slots in their datasheets, but when I read the manual for the board, the PCI-e slots are only 1 x16, some are disabled, and some only run x8, x4 or even x1 when using up the first x16 slot. I'm just really confused. Admittedly, most manuals only show up to Matisse support for now, so I'm not sure if the Zen3/Vermeer CPU's change this behavior of the slots or not. Would someone be kind enough to explain it to me, please? What I am trying to build is this (when they become widely available this year): Fractal Design Define 7XL case 850W power supply (?) x570 MB AMD Zen 3/Vermeer CPU (leaning toward the 5900x) Crucial Ballistix RGB 3600 MHz DDR4 (BL2K32G36C16U4BL) (64GB now, add more later) 6800XT/6800/3800 series GPU (overkill for what I need, but I only want to buy once) AIO (EK/Arctic) or Noctua NH-D15 (not sure for what I need) Samsung 980 Pro 1TB NVMe Avago/LSI/Broadcom 9560-16i RAID controller (needs a PCI-e x8 lane) x6 (for now) Seagate Exos x18 SAS drives (backups and PLEX movie server with UHD support to NVidia Shield Pro 2019 x2) My son won't be gaming on this machine (nor will I) but I do get tired of uploading mkv movies as slow as possible, and my wife is a professional violinist, so we convert a lot of performance videos or her and her University students.

Every time it boots* I will have to wait for 10'' to show me the screen that it actually tries to boot, I have no problem with that. If I shut it down or even take it off the power it will boot "normally" .However, when I try to restart by pressing the windows key, going to power and then hitting restart, 100% of the times it will get stuck on the CPU led. I updated 4 bios versions, I checked that the CPU has no problem, I did everything and still cant find a solution. What would it be? *My normal boot sequence is CPU problem for 5-8" then RAM and VGA problems for some ms and then it will post.
