I have airtel xstream fiber (AOT-4221SR router model) I am having concerns regarding continuous exposure to RF/ MW all day long, I got a LAN cable and want to turn off WLAN/ Wifi from router. But I am unable to do so by logging into router. The checkbox is greyed out. So I called my ISP, technician on that end were able to turn it on and off. But I want to do so myself. He tried to give me access but was unable to. I may frequently want to turn it on and off and will have to call them. That's the only option for now. I have tuned down the bandwidth for now from 40/80MHz. But I am unable to turn down transmission power. As I make it 20% , it turns itself to 100%. Other services let customers do it.

Hi All, I have repurposed my old laptop with i5 processor and 4GB RAM(I know its less) as a NAS Storage device which is connected to my Archer AX50 router through ethernet. I have even used a usb to ethernet adapter just to make sure I having a gigabit port on both the laptop/NAS and the router. The laptop is using a HDD internally though. When I transfer the a file say a video file through my Laptop (which is wirelessly connected to the network) to the NAS it is giving me a speed somewhere between 2 MB/s to 6 MB/s which considering the potential of Gb port and taking into account some interference and signal loss is still way less than what it should be. I was expecting maybe 40 MB/s but it is not the case. I even went wired and the results are the same. Also, don't have any way of going wired permanently for now so don't want that as an option. The wireless band is 5GHz and I tried different channel width like 80, 160 and even 40 MHz but to no avail. Am I doing something wrong here? or missing something? Is there any bottleneck as I am using an old laptop or is there something that can be done for this. I have been through multiple forums but could not find anything substantial. PS: Router supports WiFi 6 while the network card on the laptop is WiFi 5. But I have tried the file transfer on my OnePlus 8 Pro as well which supports WiFi 6 and it is the same story so even android to NAS is limited. Any help would be appreciated. Considering I am just starting out with NAS any thing dumb I have mentioned in the post, make sure to pint that out too. Edit 1: Forgot to add that I tested it on MacBook Pro M1 as well and its the same on wireless as well. Did not have the dongle so could not check the wired speed but definitely wireless is lacking.

Does anyone have experience with Watchguards Enterprise-Accesspoints? We're searching for APs and Watchguard makes a head to head race with the Aruba Solutions for WiFi-APs... To compare we need especially the realistic range of the accesspoints wifi. Of course, we're trying to do mesh-networking, but having better ranges results in fewer needed APs.

Hey again. I just got my new Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge. So here is my problem. Im tethering my phone WLAN to my PC via USB connection. But my PC is like.. NOPE.. i don't want any of those weird junk on my USB ports. For the first 5-10 seconds the tethering works just fine but after that, nothing will load on my Chrome Browser. Im still online in Discord, Steam and other programs like these. Well, i can't load pages on steam, just like Chrome but downloading patches from games works in steam. After 1-2 hours my PC kinda catched it and the tethering works fully normal. Sometimes nothing happen after a whole day if i don't remove my phone from the PC. My old S4 Mini handled is without any problems (It's broken). I tried to check my WLAN options on my phone to make sure it's not turning off the WLAN but after chaning these options nothing happend. -Icefly

I recently bought a DWA127/B1 WLAN adapter and since I installed the driver included in the CD, my old WLAN adapter, an EWN-1600LUN1BB stopped and working while my new DWA127/B1 isn't working too, they both don't detect any access points and aren't even detected on my Kali Linux virtual machine using the airmon-ng command. Although, the device manager list them both as working with their drivers up to date (Screenshot 1 and 2). I tried uninstalling and reinstalling both drivers aswell as rebooting my computer. As you can see in Screenshot 3, ethernet connection is working perfectly. I need wifi/bluetooth adapter (m.2) that supports osx sierra. Here's the catch, I need it to arrive in Vancouver within a week or so or I'm kinda screwed. The wifi adapter everyone seems to use, the dw1560, only ships on ebay from China and would take forever to get here. What are my best options?

Just one question to ask, I have a desktop connected to a wireless router via ethernet cable. I also have an all in one printer (Canon MP568) which has built in WiFi. Can I scan documents on the printer wirelessly from the desktop. The desktop does not have wireless though.

Hey guys, so my brothers internet worked fine yesterday but today it doesn't work anymore. It's connected to a DLAN receiver that works perfectly fine but on his pc it says "not identified network" and his pc also can't find any WLAN networks (i gave him my Mainboard since i upgraded) and it worked on my pc. his IPConfig: Hostname . . . . . . . . . . . . : "dasjd"; Primäres DNS-Suffix . . . . . . . : Knotentyp . . . . . . . . . . . . : Hybrid; IP-Routing aktiviert . . . . . . : Nein; WINS-Proxy aktiviert . . . . . . : Nein; Ethernet-Adapter Ethernet: Verbindungsspezifisches DNS-Suffix: Beschreibung:Realtek PCIe GBE Family Controller; Physische Adresse:bnbnbnbnbnbn; DHCP aktiviert: Ja; Autokonfiguration aktiviert: Ja; Verbindungslokale IPv6-Adresse:bnbnbnbnbn(bevorzugt); IPv4-Adresse (auto konfig) :bnbnbnbnbnbn(bevorzugt); Subnetzmaske:255.255.0.0; Standardgataway: DHCPv6-IAID:fghfghfghfghfghf7; DHCPv6-Client-DUID:fghfghfghfghfghfghfghfgh; DNS-Server :8.8.4.4 and 8.8.8.8; NetBIOS über TCP/IP:aktiviert; Drahtlos-Lan-Adapter WLAN: Medienstatus: medium getrennt (disconnected but is shown in pc options); Beschreibung::Qualcom Atheros AR9485 802.11b|g|n WiFi adapter; physische adresse: bnnbbnnbnbbnbnbn; DHCP akt.:Ja; Autokonfig. akt. : Ja; Drahtlos-Lan-Adapter LAN verbindung* 1: Medienstatus: getrennt (disconnected); Beschreibung: Microsoft Wi-Fi Direct Virtual Adapter; physische Adresse:16-DB....; DHCP:Ja; Autokonfig:Ja; i think you should understand most of it but if you dont understand something pls tell me and i will translate it to you. just to be clear, im talking about both LAN and WLAN both aren't working and the PC troubleshooting doesn't seem to find anything wrong.

Hey Guys, I've got a problem with a HUAWEI P8 Lite. I can't get the WiFi to work. It does not even turn on (WIFi). So the problem lies with the phone not the router. Problem: Whenever I want to turn on it's WiFi it either turns itself off or it freezes while graying out like it is turning on WiFi. Already tried: Restarting Airplane-Mode Would like to not do a factory reset, as it's not mine, but if there is no other way around this problem I've gotta try it. Thanks

Hey Is it possible to share my WLAN with my second pc via LAN cables? Like.. putting the LAN cable into my PC and then stick it in my second PC? And do it need a special thing or do i need some settings to adjust before it works? I read something about a Cross Over cable but it seems like it's not needed with newer LAN boards. -Icefly

I have a larger network on my hands which is set up as follows: The modem connects to the internet on one side and on the other to the main switch which goes on to connect to the router as well as more switches and some clients and a server. Now everything is fast and reliable and works except for one thing: The router will sometimes let me connect to the network at amazing speeds and sometimes it will conenct but give me no internet at all. The router is a FritzBox, however, the same problem presists with a backup TP-Link router I have lying arround. Any help or Ideas would be greatly appreciated!

Hello, currently I got an internet connection with about a download speed around 6000 KBit/s Download - ( I think it´s 6000 for DL) - I use a "Power Line" solotion from Devolo because the walls in between my router and the over all layout of the house do not allow me to connect direclty into the router via a cable. Next month I am going to switch to new ISP and the speed will be increased to around 28 KBit/s up to 51.300 Kbits Max download speed and 2.700 up to 10.000 kbit/s Upload speeds. Up to this point I ´ve been using this Power Line solution : https://www.amazon.com/Devolo-09085-dLAN-WiFi-Starter/dp/B00C5IA4TW/ref=sr_1_fkmr0_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1498223231&sr=8-1-fkmr0&keywords=devolo+dLAN+500+WiFi+Powerline+(500+Mbit%2Fs+Internet+über+die+Steckdose%2C+300+Mbit%2Fs+über+WLAN My question is : do I need to get a better Power Line Set like the "Devolo 1200+" version or something now that the speeds will be much higher (VDSL) to keep up with the Network speeds my new ISP can povide (Bottleneck?) or do you have some other suggestions for setting up my network ? I´ve never used anything else in terms of Internet Network other than cable and Power line most recently so I don´t know much about it myself. I use my internet for school related tasks and some Movie streaming via Netflix and some gaming if I have some spare time. Thanks for your help

Hello, so I have recently downgraded from windows 10 to windows 7. The process was smooth and install the necessary drivers were easy however, when it came to installing a wireless network driver there was a problem. I installed my motherboard drivers and my graphics card drivers. The motherboard driver seems to only come with a LAN driver and not wifi. When I go to my device manager it shows 802.11 n WLAN and a yellow exclamation mark by it to say that there is no driver installed for it. I previously had the 802.11bgn 1T1R wireless adapter driver on windows 10. I have tried downloading that driver and installing it however it does not seem to work

Hi there, very new to this forum, but I am a big fan of the yt channel. Asking here because I just dont know where to get help with this. So I bought the archer ac1200 ( Model t4u ) wlan usb stick from TP-LINK, running windows 10 on my desktop. It should be compatible with windows 10. When I got the stick, I downloaded the win10 driver from the website, means the actual driver for the stick and the utility software. Everything worked but the softap mode, it was greyed out in the utility software. So I reinstalled it, the nightmare begins here. I tried every possible combination of utility software and driver, win10, 8, 8.1, ... Deinstalled everything about 20 times, currently running (again) the win 10 drivers. So the stick appears under devices as "TP-LINK Wireless USB Adapter" with following Hardware-ID: USB\VID_2357&PID_0101 The utility software works, but only if the stick is not plugged in. If I start the utility software and plug the stick in, it will crash. If I start it when the stick is already plugged in, the icon will appear in the system tray icons for a few seconds until it disappears again. No software starting whatsoever. Win 8 driver worked, but it would not find Internet Sharing Devices when I try to turn softap mode on, even tho ICS is turned on. Guess I should mention that sometimes I plug in a USB device the whole PC freezes and only a restart would make it work again. The stick works fine with my old ass XP laptop. I hope someone knows better than me. Thank you so much.

I have a Dell Latitude E6430 laptop that uses a Dell Wireless 1540 (DW1540), but it is somewhat limited and want to upgrade it to something that has 2.4GHz/5Ghz band and bluetooth... Like the Intel Centrino Advanced-N 6235 (6235ANNGW) which I found at an afordable price. They both seem to be Half-size Mini PCI-E... I would like to know your advice on whether I could have any issues?

Hello Guys, so I have a Cisco Access Point 2802E-E-K9 with a lightweight image applied on a testnet just connected to a switch and my laptop. I want the AP to load an Mobility Express Image from my TFTP Server I have simulated with TFTPD on my laptop but as far as I could come, the AP sends the request to the TFTP server but under an compleatly other IP address as I configured it. So as result the ACK back to the AP fails and the image can't be loaded.... Does anybody had a similar setup before and maybe knows where the IP address, I also couldn't find anywhere in the AP config, comes from? The Laptop (TFTPD Server) has the 192.168.10.23 and we gave the AP the 192.168.10.50 but on the TFTPD Server the AP registers as 6.222.... so a compleatly different network, I've never seen before. Would be amazing if anybody may have a clue!

Greetings, While watching a simple video on fb I got the BSOD Critical Structure Corruption. A similar thing happened when I open a game and mostly happens then for example if I open AC origins the game plays fine sometimes it crashes when I open LoL it happens all the time, after automatic restart it plays ok. After viewing it in Event Viewer it showed that during the time of the BSOD Rtlihvs.dll was at Critical error, which indicated at my TP-Link wireless USB that I use for my laptop. Some older thread showed it helped if I downgraded the driver. The thing is when I try to uninstall the device ( no option for Roll Back is available ) after trying to install it manually it just installs by itself with the latest driver. I disconnected the wifi and tried it that way also nothing it keeps putting the latest driver. Since I just did a clean install for W10 ( previously had a BSOD with Video Shredding, which only resolved after reinstalling the OS ), I have not did all the updates, so I updated all the drivers, but the issue persists, it's really bothersome I can't play any games and PC crashes almost every time, especially in LoL while more video demanding games have no problem running ( offline games like AC ) and crash less. P.S I use also the second monitor which just had an issue where after Rtilhvs.dll BSOD crash it just froze while pc was running ok and all I could do was closing LoL from task manager and reopen it again. It's a Dell Inspiron 7000 series i5 GTX 1050 1tb SHDD 250 M.2 ( which after installation I did a clean install again and after that w10 install I had the video shredding and did another one format. ) More exact regarding the issue: I have the dump file, I use the USB Wireless tp link tl-wn8200nd to be exact, I have disabled the inbuilt WiFi and use that one since the distance to the router is quite far and the inbuilt does not have a good connection. I wanted to clarify some things that I tried and how this error occurred. Firstly all started when I bought the Samsung m.2 SSD 970 EVO, for which my laptop had a slot so I just opened and put it there ( there was something like a transparent sticker also in that slot which I thought needed to be removed but after trying to remove it and it seemed to have some resistance I left it and put the SSD on top of it which plugged in fine ), after that in the W10 installation screen there was no show of the 970, so I searched for the issue for which the solution was some option I needed to check or uncheck in BIOS I don't quite remember atm. The installation went ok I managed to install the OS ( i had some problem with explorer.exe before installing the SSD also it just did not open and every boot I had to open it with Task Manager after reformatting it was ok ), then after some time, not right away maybe a month 2-3 weeks of usage I encountered Video_shredding BSOD, to which I thought the problem was the Video Card, so I did some reinstallation of drivers and device after that, but the problem persisted so I did format once again, now I have encountered that Critical_structure BSOD and not the event viewer showed the rtlihvs.dll . I have tried so far using a different tp-link ( same model though which I have on a desktop ) and so on. The issue is still there and occurs only when I open a video game ( mostly in league of legends it happens the moment I log into the game, not the login screen or loading screen ), it does not happen as often in single-player offline games, but still has happened a couple of times. I've got a strange issue accessing local files on my network. Connection to the internet and between wired devices is fine. My laptop with an Intel AC 8265 pulls the full 70Mbps download speed from the router but when transferring from a wired desktop with a new sata Ssd and the laptop with an nvme Ssd it maxes out around 40Mbps. The speed in windows wifi status fluxuates somewhere between 900-600Mbps and I about 10ft from the router with no walls. 2.4ghz band sees transfer speeds in the high 30Mbps on a 144Mbps connection to the router. There's nearly no other wireless networks close enough to be a problem and I've already picked a channel that is pretty much barren. The router is an Asus AC-3100. Router firmware fully updated. All wired and wireless adapters have the most updated drivers available. Transfers between wired desktops even to a mechanical drive are 112MBps+ so I'm getting the full Gbit speeds on wired. However the laptop has only type c and I dont have an adapter to test wired connection and I'm really not wanting to run cat6 all over the house any more than I already do. Anyone expericed this and have a fix? I'm guessing there is a setting on the router or deep in the network adapter settings that I am missing. Thanks in advance for any suggestions!

In advance, I am not sure this is the right community to ask this question. For college I am working on a project where I allow users to influence my music composition. For this I use a socket.io server combined with node.js. I used to do this project with a colleague, but he cannot help this time so I am alone on this one. We know the program works because we used his wifi router before. This time I cannot borrow his wifi router. People will only connect to the server in groups of 5-6 people. Also I know I can run a hotspot on my laptop while being connected to my uni's network, but that's not really the way I would like to do it. The problem is that I would like this to work without an active internet connection and just use my laptop as a WLAN device, is this possible in Windows 10? Thanks in advance!

Hello forum Members, My current situation is: Potentially 250Mbit Connection and fitting Router. The Problem is, I cant use the full bandwith because I am using Devolo Powerline 1200 Adapters to get the connection to a few devices in the house which only offer a lan port. Why can't he use the full bandwith? Because the 250Mbit Connection ((S)VDSL - (Supervectoring DSL)) uses low frequencies to get the internet connection to the customers router (around 16Hz a technician told me). Due to the fact that the Devolo Adapters are using the same low Hertz technology these two are interferring and the 250Mbit Connection is not stable. Therefore i swapped the 250Mbit Router with my old one, which only supports the normal VDSL configuration of up to 160Mbit, not the low hertz supervectoring technology needed for 250Mbits. As you can probably guess, I do want to use the full bandwith i do pay for. What i thought of, is replacing all Devolo units with WiFi moduls, to connect the Devices which only offer a lan port to the WiFi, so i can get rid of the Devolo Units and swap my Router back to the new one. I sadly cant lay lan cables. Thats not an option. Devices that only offer a lan port are 2 TV boxes or a normal office PC. I heard of WiFi Ethernet bridges, like the TP-Link TL-WR802N N300, which i could use in client-mode for the TV Boxes and the office PC if I'm correct. Problem is, my Gaming PC is also connected via Devolo Powerlink Adapters to the Router for a low latency and constant connection. That means I am searching for an strong WiFi Router (, that is placed behind the delivered 250Mbit capable SVDSL router,) that supports a few parallel 2.4Ghz connections for Mobile Devices, the 2 TV Boxes and the Office PC and a strong counterpart of the WiFi Router (maybe a 2nd one?) which is able to maintain a stable, low latency 5Ghz (or 60Ghz) connection to the router behind the 250Mbit router. I do thought of these new Nighthawk Netgear routers? I do hope everything was understandable, if not don't hesitate to question me. Thanks in advance, Ledury
