Okay, So I have had my PC for about 3 months now. When I bought it off of craigslist, it came with: Fx 8320 8-Core 3.5ghz GTX 750 1GB 16 GB DDR3 1600mhz MSI 970 Mobo Hitachi HDD 500gb 1200w PSU I bought a brand new western digital black 1tb HDD. I installed windows 10 64-bit onto it and dowloaded a few games. I want to play GTA 5 online but I averaged about 20ish frames with the GTX 750. (All drivers have been updated) I bought a new graphics card to see if I could get better frames on the game. (PowerColor R9 380x 4GB) My current harware lists as this Fx 8320 8-Core 3.8ghz (Overclocked to see if that would help) R9 380x 4gb 16 GB DDR3 1600mhz MSI 970 Mobo Western Digital Black 1tb (Brand new) 1200w PSU That STILL didn't help the issue. I did a fresh install of windows, downloaded nothing but steam, GTA 5, and the AMD drivers and still I only got 20-25 Frames. Afterwards, I installed Minecraft to see how well that would run and I averaged about 50-60 frames. (My last PC with a R5 230 ran about 70 fps) Is there anyone who has any ideas about why my computer is running games like crap? Thanks! -Danny

Hey guys! I' ve got an unexpected problem with my 7-yrs laptop. Yeah, that's right - 7 YEARS! Damn. Of course it's not a huge problem, because I have 2 more laptops and 2 more PCs, but I want to fix my Acer 7740G either. It bumps white screen and turns off. Usually (95%) when browsing Net. Chrome or MS Edge. Doesn't matter. What I have already done: 1) Changed thermal compound 2) Updated drivers 3) Checked RAM and HDD health 4) Scanned with CCleaner, Norton and Malwarebytes And that still takes place! Oh, I could forgot, no battery, only a charger - I use that as a deskop replacement in the basement. No overheating - checked that and vacuumed inside. One thing I have observed is nearly every time 100% HDD usage. That' s strange, isn't it? I have already turned off any unnecessary services. And till last Saturday it was ok, but today it happened one more time. Does anyone know what it could be?

So I'm posting this with my phone so hope it all makes sense. I have a complicated stream setup, basically I stream my PC to my laptop, I use a 180hz monitor and want to see my game at 180hz and stream at 60hz 1080p, I have an Elgato HD 60 S not using audio over the Elgato as it cracks and pops at high volumes. I want to be able to hear my game sound through my headphones and my discord/teamspeak as well so when I turn my speakers up you won't hear my friends on discord talking. I managed to get this sorted by buying a Beringer Mixer, bare in mind that my front output for headphones works simultaneously with my speakers out to my 5.1 speakers which are plugged into the back of my motherboard. So that's all fine, but now the problem is noise from the audio, when turning up the volume on my mixer, the audio makes a high pitched buzzing noise which is horrible, I am looking for a soundcard that has no noise/buzzing and will allow me to output to Front/Rear/CSUB & headphones at the same time simultaneously, any ideas?

VGA on ASUS GTX 680 for watching movies on projector
lukeakascooter posted a topic in Graphics Cards
Hello, I just bought a used projector to watch movies.etc (SANYO PLC-XW200) However when I connect it via a VGA cable with a DVI adapter into the DVI-I port on my graphics card, I don't get anything displaying on the projector, but windows does recognize the projector in the NIVIDA control panel as you can see in the attached screenshot. Not sure what I am doing wrong here... I do only have a 14 pin VGA cable, would that be the problem?, that is the only conclusion I have come too, I'm just posting here before I go buy a new cable. Any help would be grateful.. Thanks -
Hey, I was just wondering if any of you know the date of the wan show where linus talked with the guy that helped design the interior of the new headquarters. I'm fairly certain it was a wan show because I remember it being a lengthy discussion, however I cant seem to find it in the playlist of wan shows.

Hello, I have been trying to get a good computer build and have been really stressed because I cant decide on one thing, on one hand I need it to handle rendering, editing, etc. Really well but I also want to be able to run some games (h1z1, fallout 4, etc) smoothly and be able to play them on high settings. I dont know what to pick especially with the budget that I have right now I am looking at a high $800-$900 budget and would like some advice so I wont mess up on my purchase. Here is my build feel free to help and edit the build to make it better! P.s. I need the motherboard with wifi because I am not in a position were I can be wired, also I need the O.S. http://pcpartpicker.com/p/9dQhnQ

Hey guys and girls. So I have an NZXT H440 case and I'm trying to keep this damn LED strip in place haha. Because it really does look beautiful with it. Anyway, the original tape doesn't seem to want to stick for long and nor does the new double sided sticky tape I have just used. I don't want to ruin the case at all so do you guys have any tips to keep it there in place? For at least longer than a couple of days haha Cheers <3

I've currently got a Logitech x530 hooked up to my PC, http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16836121126 and a Logitech x240 that is gathering dust. http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16836121010 I was wondering if there's anyway possible for me to merge them creating a 7.1 system? (I would say 7.2 but I don't think my onboard sound on my z77a-g45 supports it...) Anybody else attempted this sort of thing?

WARNING: Before you read this post, it is very long. I'm including a PCPartPicker link to my build w/o the mobo, psu or cooler, but please read my post afterwards. Thank you. Build: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/3b9RrH Missing parts are to be suggested in the replies. The three HDDs are only candidates - I'm only going to pick one of them, but the SSD stays. The case is also debatable - I picked it because it's an ATX Mid Tower, and has sound dampening material. GPU most likely stays. I might reuse the cooler from my current PC, it's new and good. So my current PC is doing terrible, and even the slightest CPU overclock (150x22 MHz was the max I was able to push out of my 7 year old i3 530) causes Windows to blue-screen after some time. So I thought it'd be a good time to start saving up for a new PC (budget then isn't much of a problem, as long it's not $2000, but $1200 with a bit of tolerance is my maximum) but the thing is, I haven't built a single PC in my life, because my current one is a prebuilt (except I added a normal graphics card). I had already made a thread earlier, but that one died, also leaving many questions behind, so I guess I'll start another one. I was scrolling around PC Part Picker, trying to put together a normal PC for a reasonable price. Now you may think that I'm crazy for choosing Intel over AMD in the very beginning, but after reading countless articles that AMD performs worse at the same clock speed than Intel because it does less work each cycle. Plus, I need less power consumption (which Intel is better at), less waste heat and better future-proofing. What I'm yet to pick, though, is my motherboard, cooler, case and other case add-ons (case fans, power supply, etc.). Before I present the parts I decided to pick, I want to point out that I want to run almost every game at 60fps without any stuttering. I like to have a lot of apps, background programs, like Steam, Skype, Overwolf, antivirus, lightshot, nVidia GeForce Experience (duh) and some other programs in the future - and foreground programs - Chrome, VLC/Windows Media Player for music and whatnot, File Explorer, Calculator, heck, even more that I wouldn't have to close, but that's my programs open RIGHT NOW on my PC - I'm used to having a lot of things open, but when I'm running games, I'm forced to start closing down most of the programs . Video editing? Nah, not really, though from time to time, when my sister or I have to do some sort of video, it's terrible having to wait literally MINUTES for stuff to open. So I went with an i7-4790K, mainly because it was one of the most popular picks on PC Part Picker, but also for it being a Quad-Core, has hyperthreading, Turbo Boost 2.0, and 4.0 GHz stock clock with up to 4.4 GHz Turbo Boost, and maybe well beyond that since it's unlocked (K). I currently have a GTX 650 Ti Boost with 2GB of VRAM, which is enough for playing less stressful games. Now by enough, I really mean only playable. I do usually get 60 fps out of unmodded Minecraft, TF2, LoL (though I don't play it now), Terraria, Rocket League, even War Thunder with maxed out graphics (which states that "movie" graphics should not be used for playing, heh). Games like World of Tanks, (heavily) modded Minecraft, GTA V with minimum graphics, sometimes CS:GO don't go up to 60 fps for some reason, even when they seem not to be graphics intensive. I thought getting a GTX 970, because, according to the GeForce "Relative GPU Performance", the biggest improvement is going from GTX 960 to GTX 970: As you see in this graph, going from a GTX 950 to a GTX 960 doesn't make much of a difference, and so does going from 970 to 980, though going from 960 to 970 is a HUGE increase (linearly, 3000+ higher rating). And since mostly going to a higher card, each one doubles the price, I thought a 970 was a perfect deal right there. For a CPU cooler, it was replaced from a stock one to some Hyper something from Cooler Master, and right now, it cools down extremely well even with the fan spinning at 600 RPM (max is 1600 RPM), and it makes very little noise. However, since the i7 is a lot more powerful, it will produce more heat, and thus, more cooling will be required. Is water cooling an option? I have had NO experience with it, and I'm barely wetting my feet watching videos about it. Will it be quieter if I were to spin the fans slower, and will my preffered case support it? For the mobo, as I said, I don't know. Probably an MSI Z97 PC MATE or a Z97-GAMING 5. I don't know where the money goes when buying a motherboard - don't you just put other components in it and calling it a day, without putting much effort into looking into the "features" of the motherboard? What features should I look for, then? I'm not a constantly-tweaking-everything geek, I just need a motherboard with audio, LAN and USB ports (though I'd prefer to have more of them. What motherboard supports, like, 8-10 USB ports on the back only? Most only seem to support 6, as I've yet seen). Oh, right - RAM, heh. DDR3 or DDR4? Do I really need DDR4 for the extra megahertz and jiggahertz that it has to offer right out of the box? Or is the cheaper DDR3 counterpart good enough right now? Because I currently picked a Crucial Ballistix Sport XT, 2x 2x4GB 1600 MHz for a total of 16 GB of RAM - I really feel I need that much. If I want many programs open + future-proofing, I will spend the money for that amount. For storage, and SSD is no doubt - I'm tired of the slow bootup speeds of my WD Caviar Blue hard drive, so I thought a Samsung 850 EVO 500 GB SSD is quite a good choice - I do want to put some games on the SSD aswell, not to be bottlenecked by a slow HDD. I may even purchase another one later down the line if I'm really low on space. Maybe I could buy a brand new 2TB or 4TB HDD for very heavy storage. And PSU - I have NO experience about those. I just need one that would be enough for powering my PC, that's it. You get to decide. WOW, that was one HELL of a post. I'm tired of writing it. I'll be waiting for your answers, and please follow the topic so you can see my responses and not let another post of mine die.

Hi guys, I got lucky and got a new, unopened AMD FX-9590 with water cooler from my local thrift store for $10. They must have had no idea what it was. My question is what motherboard would you recommend for it for around $150?

I've been watching some Jayztwocents videos and i've noticed a lot of little rips towards Linus that are seemingly out of the blue. Is there some sort of tension I am not picking up on? Do they hate each other? EDIT: This is not intended to stir any arguments up or cause a flame war. I was just curious.

Hey LTT Im currently using wayyy to much RAM on my rig, so im looking to get another 8gb. Case is i found an offer for 1*8gb stick with the same specs (except size) as my current RAM (Corsair LP) My MOBO is an Asus Maximus VI Formula. Would it work? The offer is as cheap as 4gb stick so it would leave a possibility for another stick in the future.

I have recently sold my rig... And I'm looking to buy a laptop, I know....... I am looking to continue my work with Sony Vegas, the laptop I'm looking at has an i7-4710MQ, what is this like for rendering? What would you recommend instead of that?

So I've run into a bit of an issue with the graphics card setup I'm trying to do. At the moment I have a single msi Gtx 760 OC. My idea was to instead of replacing it with a 960, to just get another gtx 760 and run it in 2 way sli to get the desired power. The only problem is, I can't find anywhere that sells a 760 anymore where I am (Ireland). What's going on? Do they just not make them anymore or is it just a local thing that they've all decided to stop selling them? In any case could anyone suggest a place or way for me to get a 760 or some similiarly priced alternative that would give me much the same result?

The Story : So currently the Thermaltake Urban T81 comes pre-installed with 3 x 200mm Fans. Included Case Fan : http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835106224 What To Do : I was thinking of buying High Static Pressure fans for all the fan mounts but that came out way to expensive ($95 - $105 +) The other option is to re-use my Enermax fans Enermax Fan : http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835214043&cm_re=enermax_cluster-_-35-214-043-_-Product (3 x 120mm as front intake / 2 x 120mm bottom intake / 1 x 120mm back exhaust / 2 x Stock 200mm top exhaust) or should I use the stock setup and add one more 200mm exhaust fan & 2 x 120/140mm bottom intake : (2 x 200mm front intake / 2 x 200mm top exhaust / 2 x 120/140mm bottom intake) or last option : Replace all 200mm fans with higher quailty 200mm fans & 2 high quality 120/140mm fans. Recommendation : What would you guys recommend? Let me know! Thank you.

Hi! So I got a 690, as you can see. The problem is that my 770 runs ALL the games with higher fps. My GTX 770 runs Final Fantasy XIV on ultra with 5760x1080 res with 60 fps. My GTX 690 doesnt even get 30 fps when i run that game. ALL my games is slower. I get sooo much lower fps with this card. What the heck happend? Wasn't GTX 690 supposed to be a "high end" card? I 've enabled Multi-GPU and I got the newset drivers for GTX 690. Specs: GTX 690 I5 3550 (clocked to 4ghz) 12gb RAM MSI Z77A-S03 motherboard 750w + gold PSU Please help!! <3
