I have a problem with the fingerprint sensor on my laptop. The operating system behaves as if it does not exist and is not ready to set it. After updating the drivers, OS and firmware got me nowhere, I used Dell's troubleshooting software. In the end, after all else didn't work, I called their customer service, who told me to do the things I had already done. So I reinstalled OS and went to sleep. In the morning, the sensor still didn't work. I called them again, and after a few minutes of exchanging details on the computer, they referred me to local customer service, claiming that they would be able to resolve it. They were miserable. After over half an hour of conversation in which they asked me to change all kinds of settings in the bios that are not related at all and asked me if I even know how to install a fingerprint sensor in Windows, they had to seek help from those who really understand. After fifteen minutes of waiting on the line they said that there was nothing to be done about it and that apparently my computer simply does not have the fingerprint sensor. Of course, after that I checked, and I couldn't find any store in my country that sells it without the sensor, so I called them back, and after a moment they put it on hold, and two minutes later they hung up. The next time they did not transfer me to a service representative. The fourth time I called they answered and explained that there was nothing I could do and I had to go and replace the entire keyboard at their service center at my own expense, even though the warranty clearly also includes hardware issues that require replacing components. Just to clarify, the warranty package I have is the proservice. Does anyone have an idea what can be done?

Hello, I'm going to sound like the biggest wuss ever but I need to update my bios for a certain update. Now I'm actually scared of doing this but I know what I'm doing. For some reason I think my power is going to suddenly go out and that's it for my motherboard even though it has a dual bios. Why am I like this, I don't understand why I can't bring myself to update the bios. Any ways on whihc I can reassure myself. Many Thanks, Fire!

I have had this before early last year. i Fixed it but after lots of playing around for a whole day. And cant exactly remember the way i went about it in the end. Just after some advice on what's the best way to go about fixing it and not loose any personal data on the PC Thanks in advance

Hello, Recently I've been looking on windows 11 and my tpm is turning off and on irregularly. I looked on my motherboards website and clearly states "Change default status of AMD PSP fTPM to Enabled for addressing basic Windows 11 requirements (https://support.microsoft.com/windows/1fd5a332-360d-4f46-a1e7-ae6b0c90645c)". Now I'm really not a person who understands bios updates, however I know how to use the bios ... typical. Now I have a 2nd gen processor and one of the updates says "update AMD AGESA ComboV2 1.2.0.3 B for Ryzen 5000 G-Series processors support". It will still support my ryzen 7 2700x after the update right? I also want to install a new bios because mine is 4 years old. Any help is greatly appreciated, Thank you!

(Sorry for a bit of a preamble but I'm trying to cut off some of the non-helpful post ahead of time) I need Windows 7 on real hardware for some older proprietary software who's vendor is long dead, And no suitable replacement is available to me. I have gone the VM route for some time but it doesn't play nice with them. It also will not even install on Windows 10 due to the (I'm guessing 16bit) installer failing to load. And the one rig I had it on before updating to 10 proves the software has major stability issues on that platform. The software in question doesn't need internet to run, So the system will be limited to the local network only making online security issues after install and update a moot point. (The real question of the post) While installing 7 is as simple as burn the ISO to DVD and slap it in the old rig. The issue comes from updating it to the best patch levels due to Win7 being EoL. So my question is, Is the builtin updater still alive to the last patches released or will I need to find alternate ways like with XP and older? And if I do need other ways what are the best ones people have safely tried?

Last night saw that Gigabyte Center had some updates for me and just updated everything without even looking. Turns out one of those updates was a bios update for F20 and since I've updated my CPU has been overheating to anything I open. Before I would average around 38 to 50 Celcius now opening any application shoots me to 70 - 80 Celsius causing my fans to go to 90-100%. I tried doing a fresh Windows install and that did nothing, then Q Flashed an even newer bios F21, which helped a little bit now my idle is back to 35 Celsius but opening any application still shoots me up to 70 Celsius. I tried downgrading back to F8 (which I think I was on but not entirely sure) but no change there. Could use the help and if you need any info I'll do my best to provide it. I have recently been asked to update a laptop (Lenovo) of a family member that has not been updated beyond Windows 10 Version 1909. I try to run the windows update tool in settings and it is attempting to download Version 21H2. It stays at 0% of a few minutes then suddenly goes to 96% before failing and throwing the following error after a minute or two: "There were problems installing some updates, but we'll try again later. Feature update to Window 10, version 21H2 - Error 0xc1900223" I have (not in this order): 1) Gone into Services and changed the Windows Update properties to Automatic from Manual 2) Windows Troubleshooter does not find any issues 3) run sfc /scannow in cmd 4) run ipconfig /flushdsn in cmd I have found a couple of forums here that mention a similar problem but there are no answer on them. Can I plug in a bootable USB stick with the lastest windows 10 image ISO and update the laptop or is there another "better" way?

I haven't been able to access my bios for the last few months. While frustrating I have needed this workstation for a project I am working on and didn't want to play around with it too much as the system seems to be working fine while in Windows. I've finished the project and now feel more comfortable troubleshooting, hopefully a solution can be found. In the past I would normal hit the Del key on boot and have no problem accessing the UEFI. Even with Fastboot enabled it was not a problem in the past. My first attempt to troubleshoot was disabling Fastboot which did not seem to fix the problem. I then attempted to boot into the bios using the Shift + Restart to open the Troubleshooting menu on boot. I was able to access the Troubleshoot menu and select Advanced then UEFI Firmware Settings which according the Microsoft website should have put me in the UEFI, instead, it immediately booted to desktop. My last thought was to update the BIOS hoping that would correct any issues. I normally would do this with a USB drive in the UEFI but since I am unable to access the UEFI I tried using the ASUS AI Suite (The board does not support ASUS USB bios flashback). The update checker in the AI Suite showed no new updates (currently 3302), but there was a newer version on the ASUS website (4201). I downloaded the CAP file and manually selected it in the updater. The update appeared to process normally showing complete pending a restart. I agreed to the restart and the system booted correctly. However, upon checking, the bios is still 3302. My guess is the same issue preventing me from booting into the UEFI prevented the bios update from completing. I have thought of just wiping the bios and starting clean, but the X570ws does not natively support AMD 5000 series CPU's. I was able to update the bios on the board originally with an older AMD CPU that I have since sold. I am completely stumped at this point. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Is there someone else that can't update their iOS right now? Me and my family has been trying all day on our iPhones but we get an error message saying that the servers can't be contacted and a "Try again" button. Anyone else having the same issue? Does Apple have servers in Sweden so can it be local to Sweden? iPhone 12 Pro Max, iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone XR.

No POST after updating to windows 11 Decided to update to windows 11. When the update was finished installing, it prompted me to restart my PC, when I restarted it, it wouldn’t boot. I tried power cycling, clearing CMOS, flashing bios, nothing works. Have a green BOOT light on my motherboard. Before I updated the bios, the motherboard lights and light strips connected worked but after the bios flash, no lights or connected lights on the motherboard work besides the debug lights. Any Ideas on what I should do? I tried all the recommended things to do in this forum short of reseating the CPU and checking power cables since it worked fine before the update. Main specs are: Intel 13700KF Asus z790 Strix Wi-fi D4 32gb Corsair DDR4 3200 EVGA RTX 3080ti

Hello everybody, I'm planning on updating my system this BF, and I have some questions. Should I update my CPU and MB too? I feel I can go with them for a few more years, but I am afraid of bottlenecking, what do you think? 2. Do I need a new PSU for 4070 or 6950 level? 3. Regardless, what is the best Bang for buck GPU now? 4. I also so that RAM speed are really high now, what is the relative mid-high speed now? Thanks for any help.

So, I'm stuck here. Minecraft crashes after less than a minute sometimes, or can play for more than 10 mins but then crashes. Especially quickly crashes when modded, but also in vanilla. I attached a pic of the error message. Yes, we've assigned more RAM to Minecraft (10GB). I have the latest NVIDIA driver, did a clean install. I did DDU as well. The whole PC was set up recently, with a clean Windows 10 install. I've tried a different GPU. The one in the PC is a GTX 970 Strix, and I swapped in a GTX 1650 Super, which is much newer. Same problem. So, I don't think it's the hardware. Besides, the 970 runs other games without issue (Red Dead 2, The Crew 2, Phasmaphobia...). gggggg The other game that crashed is Spiral Knights, a game that also runs on Java. But, I have the latest version of Java as well. I have tried using a different monitor. I've disabled GeForce overlay, screenshot softwares, etc. Turned off Xbox Game Bar... So the framework 16 looks like something I want: detachable gpu, big screen, numpad. However they said spring this year and they haven't updated since then (with it being spring for a month now). I want them to do well but the silence is deafening. I hope they haven't lost too many sales of FW13 because of this and have what happened to Osborne happen to them.

I have a MSI b450 Tomahawk and a Ryzen 5 3600. My bios version is E7C02AMS.1C0 and I have already attempted M flash. I purchased a usb 2.0 Memorex flash drive that was already formatted to FAT32. I downloaded 7C02v1I bios from msi.com and extracted the file to my flash drive. I did not name it anything else. Once I went into my bios and hit M flash, nothing but black screen. I reset the Cmos and now im back in. I have a very old bios, I think its the 2019 version which I believe is CSM. I found someone on reddit who mentioned I need to update it to UEFI first before I try and update the Bios? This has been extremely stressful as any research I do, all I find is people having crazy problems. Im trying to update my bios to accommodate a Ryzen 7 5800x3D I just purchased. This is my first Bios update ever and im scared to death to mess something up. Someone mentioned M flash dosent work over display port? I have a monitor with HDMI but im just trying to get to M flash to update bios. Or do I need to convert to UEFI first? Any help is appreciated as the only thing I know to try next is to make my main monitor connect via HDMI and hope to god M flash works. Thanks.
