I have a newly built pc with a 7.1 Surround Sound Box for audio. I have 3 amps plugged into it (Front, Side and Rear). I configured the sound in playback device settings, and surround sound worked fine during that. But when I try to use surround sound to watch YouTube, etc., only the speakers connected to the front speakers port does anything. Can’t seem to make it use the other speakers as well. Any ideas?

I have used this same headset before about a week ago on my desktop and it worked fine. I tried earphones and they worked fine too. Now I have tried both on my desktop and neither of them have audio coming from both sides. I tried the headset on two other devices and it worked fine, same with the earphones. I opened up my PC to see if my audio cable is loosely connected to my MB but it seemed to be fine. I did some experimenting and I noticed that if I put in my headphones as far as the second ring of the 4 pole headset jack, I get audio in both sides but no surround sound. If I put the whole jack in with the sleeve, then I have the problem of only hearing sound on the left side and not the right side. The sound is balanced equally on left and right in the settings. I'm hoping it's not a hardware problem as I've recently built this PC about 2 months ago and have barely had the chance to use it. How could I resolve my issue?

I remember having Logitech X530. with windows 7 it was plug and play. surround sound awesome. So nowadays, I just acquired Edifier S760d. I'm finally back into 5.1 surround sound. but wait, it's not plug and play anymore isn't it? it's plug and troubleshoot for hours and still no play. I use Sound Blaster Omni sound card.(laptop no bueno) https://us.creative.com/p/sound-blaster/sound-blaster-omni-surround-5-1 Yes, i installed the drivers for it. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the drivers (and yes i know how to connect physically everything correctly and double checked restarted the computer. turned off and on the speakers While in sound device properties, speaker test passes, all channels play correspondingly. but, while consuming content the surround sound is being played in through front speakers, while rear speakers are silent. yes, I have googled, tried many of the suggestions. without any luck while googling I found a lot of people have that problem from 2015 and even beginning of the win10 era I set audio format to 24bit/96khz and or Dolby Digital Live (DDL from now on) also while in sound device properties and advanced tab, there is no option for 5.1 only 2 channels or DDL but I set 5.1 in the Sound Blaster software. what the hell has happened, I remember al the volume sliders for different channels, they are not present anymore. yes I know DDL is basically compression method which is mandatory to use 6 channels in one optical cable. ( is it possible that Dolby Digital Live and Dolby Digital aren't compatible ... but then again I also tried analogue cables as well, same result, ah yes all three of them, and yes correctly and correspondingly. I tried all the audio formats. also also Enabling Dolby Pro Logic on the speakers doesn't do anything either. any help is very appreciated stay safe

Ok this is really weird setup I know, but hear me out. I have a decent pair of active speaker (audio engine HD3+) (connected via the USB) I have another set of active speaker of similar quality but not from the audio engine. (support USB connection) since the other pair of speaker is just lying around collecting dust, I wanted to set them up as a rear channel. Bedrock of this question is 1. How do I connect 2 different set up speakers via 2 USB connection and set it up as a surround 2. If [1] doesn't work then if I connect both pairs with 3.5mm jack (audio engine in green and the other pair in black(or the rear channel) will it work? 3. Can default window 10 surround system support this? 4. if [3] doesn't work then if I grab something like SoundBlaster x3 will it work as surround in this setup 5. Is there any good external sound card recommendation below $300 for this purpose? 6. will this be worth it? lol

Hello there everyone, I am fairly new to setting up a home theatre system, my expertise are definitely not in the audio department. I am been using the stock speakers on my TV (Sharp GB254WJSA) and I am using the Mi Box S 4K for all my streaming needs (mostly Netflix & Disney +). As stated in the mi box's website, it supports Dolby audio (Dolby digital (DD), DD plus, DTS) and not Dolby Atmos. I am planning on getting any reasonably priced (please recommend) Samsung sound bar (with sub woofer) that supports Dolby Atmos. Will a Dolby Atmos supported sound bar be able to play the full array of the DD plus format? Why am I getting the Dolby Atmos supported device? I am looking to upgrade to the Nvidia Shield TV Pro in the future (supports Atmos). Also, with the limited amount of ports available on the mi box, I am not sure how to get it to connected to the soundbar. Do I have setup as mi box > passthrough > TV > speakers or mi box > audio > speakers & > picture > TV. I am not sure whether my TV has a HDMI arc to allow passthrough or do I have to get a receiver to do this. So basically the gist of it is; 1. How do I setup DD plus from my mi box and connect it to the speakers and get surround sound? 2. Do you have any product recommendation? Your help is much appreciated, thank you in advance.

Hello yesterday I bought a pair of Razer Kraken 2019 headphones.I registered the product and downloaded the 7.1 surround sound app.At first there was an option for 7.1 surround sound in "chose default playback device" but there wasnt any sound so I decided to uninstall and install again. After I did that there was no longer an option for 7.1 surround.I ve been trying to fix this all day downloading drivers, installing and uninstalling and yet the problem still persists and Razer support say that they will contact me today but its night and there is no response (10hrs) after the first support ticket and still no response. Can you guys please help me Im desperate I'm guessing there is some hidden file or driver malfunction causing this. Can someone who knows more about computers than me help me thank you! Thanks in advance, you are a lifesaver.

So I hoard tech, and I refuse to let anything go to waste. When I was younger I decided to connect over 40 speakers together using Aux splitters and terrible cables. The sound quality was horrible. This includes 3 surround sound systems, 10 portable speakers, 4 radios, 3 iPhone docks, a PA speaker, a Car Subwoofer, and a piano. I will only post videos if needed as everything I recorded at that time is so cringe. So I want to hear if any of you guys have horrible/ weird/ cursed sound setups that are way better than my old one.

and currently looking to go wireless. At the moment I've seen recommendations for both the Astro A20 and the Logitech G77 in some "top 10" lists but what do you think? What kinda wireless headset would you recommend for gaming (PUBG for sound placement) and streaming? So need something that will help identify the direction of sounds in game but also be comfortable for long term use. Budget I'd say is between £100-200 roughly so please help me out

Hello all, so recently ive been looking around at buying surround sound system, however due to problems with the neighbours i cannot do this. However, I discovered online that there are some brands that do home theatre headphones. The 2 best ones ive seen so far are the Sony WH-L600, and the JVC xp-ext1. I am struggling to find places online that recommend headphones for this purpose. So I was hoping if anybody on here could help me out. It would be convienient if they would work with my PC and if they have an external transmitter or DAC sorta thing like with the JVC headphones. I am very interested in virtual surround sound, ive used it before and ive liked it in some situations as a substitute. I noticed weith the JVC headphones that the Dac thing is able to convert stero or 5.1 audio into some sort of 3d audio, but i wasnt sure if that would work on my pc if i used them on there, and with the sony ones aswell if any of the Dolby Atmos or DTS modes would work on my pc aswell. I am not necessarily fussed about price, but im not going to be paying extra-ordinate prices. Around what the JVC ones cost and maybe less. If anybody can help it would be much appriciated. Thanks, George

I've spent a couple of hours trying to find the best soundbar surround sound speaker system and I have come down to 3. They are all within my $300 budget and I was wondering which one you guys thought was the best. if you don't mind telling me in what order they are best and why the best one is the best that would be nice. Also consider the condition of the product whether used or new when deciding. Thanks! https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B093VH98JP/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER&psc=1 https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07R75J8BZ/ref=ox_sc_act_title_2?smid=AWBD3ZCLSW4I3&psc=1 Also if you don't mind telling me whether the two rear speakers on this https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08CGVTVMN/ref=ox_sc_saved_title_1?smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER&th=1 system have wireless capabilities that would also be much appreciated!

I am having some issues with my 5.1 surround sound set up. Please look at the hardware specs below to assist. The issue I am having is all to do with my subwoofer. When I enter the Realtek Audio Console, I can change the 3.5mm audio jack inputs for the monitors and for the sub. To get the sub to play anything, I have to change the blue audio jack, which the sub is plugged into, from "sub/center" to "headphone." Even then, I have to have the speaker configuration set to stereo instead of 5.1 surround. When I do change it to 5.1 surround, and launch into a game like COD, I lose all ability to hear vocal frequencies. I can hear gunshots, explosions, footsteps, but not any voice. The only solution I have found is to keep the sub as a headphone output and the speaker configuration as stereo. However, I believe that this is causing some audio quality loss as it isn't hooked up as a true subwoofer. Any help would be greatly appreciated!! I am running into an issue which may or may not because of certain standby modes or eArc features. When I have an HDMI from TV (eArc or regular) into the TV out, and have a Cable Box (optimum) into receiver, I will occasionally get sound and video. If nothing changes it may stay on, but its hit or miss and just seems to be random for when it works. The only way I found this setup works every time is having an HDMI from TV into the Receiver, and a separate HDMI from TV to the Cable box. It still handles the sound properly, but to me defeats the purpose of an A/V receiver. I have messed with the settings on the receiver and TV haven't found a combo that works. Any help would be amazing.

Did a random search and stumbled upon Cavern1, 2. Has anyone tried this? TL:DR of the video: Demo of Dolby Atmos sound trailer being decoded on the pc with the positional sound being animated in software Since I only have a standard 5.1 setup, I can't test it's effectiveness. Hey everyone, i recently bought an LG OLED C9 55" and now i want to upgrade my sound setup to better match the TV. I never had any surround sound system and would like to try dolby atmos if the budget allows it. Right now im running an older Sony SS-EX50 stereo system, which is nice for listening to music but in movie dialogues the clarity is not that great and sometimes makes them hard to understand. My budget is around 500,- €. Of course i should be able to buy it in germany. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

So title suggest I am fairly confused.. I am trying to find a good amp/dac and the biggest question I have now seems to be is 7.1 worth it on, for example, Soundblasterz g6 or would it be more worth while using an alternative like dolby atmos for the surround sound? I do not have experience in any of this so I wanted to reach out and ask to see if anyone can point me in the right direction. Of course I could buy a Schiit Hel but I am not sure on the whole extra features that the g6 provide due to that surround sound feature. To explain quickly is that I am a pc gamer who plays fps competitive. Could someone enlighten me and maybe point me in the right direction here on what would be better to go with? I am always for great sound but saving money is always a plus. To fill in some blanks here the headphones being used are DT 990 pros exclusively for gaming and music.

Hello everyone. I'm starting research for a new build. While looking at Mini ITX motherboards, I noticed a lot of them have just a single audio line out jack (plus the standard mic and line in). I've never done an ITX build, so I didn't know if this was new or standard. They also say they support 5.1/7.1 surround sound. As far as I know, you can't get 5.1 sound from a single analog connection. So, here is my problem. I have a 5.1 surround sound system with the standard 3x3.5mm jacks for the 6 speakers. How do I go about connecting this system to a motherboard with only one analog line out connection? Here is one of the mobos I was looking at that made me wonder about this. https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813130929

I'm wondering if there's a good/easy/cheap way to get surround sound with standard bookshelf speakers on my PC without running a $7-800 surround sound amp. For reference I have a Gigabyte 990fxa-ud3 I'm currently running surround on with two cheap pairs of Logitech speakers.

Hi there, I have the Logitech 5.1 speakers(X-540) for my PC which has the 3x 3.5mm jacks coming out (fr/fl, bl/br, center) which currently go straight into my pc for 5.1 pc output. However, I want to output my TV (LG 43UH603V-ZE) through optical to my speakers as well. I've found this on ebay - Sound decoder Would this then output TV audio to my 5.1 speakers using an optical cable from my TV as well as from my PC?

Hi all, I have an issue which I've been struggling with for a while and have not been able to get to grips with. So I finally decided to swallow my pride and ask all you lovely people for help/advice. I have been using my Panasonic 5.1 SC-HT845 home theatre system (with a sub-woofer) for ages and it's been great. Unfortunately, about 6 months ago, the DVD player (which is also the hub for the whole system - i.e. all the speakers connect to it)...died. So I'm not too distraught about losing the ability to play DVD's but I am sorry to have lost my surround sound system. All the speakers are great and well positioned in the room. Plus they are all installed and hooked up to the wall, etc. So...I have been trying to find a way of replacing the DVD player with some piece of equipment (doesn't have to play DVD's - in fact I'd rather it didn't) which I can hook my surround sound system up to and then plug into my TV so I can get my coveted surround sound back when I watch TV in my living room. Here's a link to the system specs; http://www.backoffice.be/prod_uk/Panasonic/sc-ht845_panasonic_sc-ht845_home_theatre_system_5.1_chan.asp Back of the DVD player; https://www.google.co.uk/url?sa=i&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=images&cd=&cad=rja&uact=8&ved=0ahUKEwj6gKzpqPLWAhUHRhQKHZ6oCowQjhwIBQ&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.nix.ru%2Fautocatalog%2Ftv%2FPanasonic-SC-HT845-Silver-DVD-Home-Theater-Sound-System_41926.html&psig=AOvVaw1d4d4iHb_Hltf9LD8mWaax&ust=1508146250386201 Links to equipment are great but please keep in mind that I live in Malta (E.U.) so it must be available in the European (or better yet, the UK) market and shipping is a plus. Thanks all!
