So I noticed my laptop was overheating and I decided to open it up and blow out dust from fans and coolers (there was a lot) after that i decided to stress test the laptop. This is Prime95 running for ~15 min on stress test settings. Is CPU being pegged at 100 C normal, this was with Performance mode on, when on balanced mode it would get up to 90-95 c for a min or so and then drop to 87 c, along with core clocks dropping from 3.1 to 2.6 - 2.7 Ghz. On battery saving it would peak at 67 c while not going above 2.1 Ghz. In reviews i managed to dig up the reviewer said that it would peak at 80 c when running prime95 stress test(didn't mention the performance mode, but i doubt it was battery saver). Will these temps cause problems, I've had the laptop for 18 months now, and it was probably running like this all the time (although only on balanced or power saving modes) and not being stress tested. Laptop Specs are as follows: CPU: AMD R7 5800h RAM: 16Gb GPU: RTX 3050

Having a lot of issues with my connection lately. All I could find on the web were speed tests, not stress tests. I could find a few, but they either only had download option, or testing my buffer bloat. Is there any good internet stress test (website or program) which has both, upload and download stress test for a long period of time, and has all the other stress tests?

Hi guys, so I noticed that when I do heaver stuff on my laptop, like building an app using expo, it started freezing and even the mouse input was lagging very badly. Sometimes it froze for upwards of 10-15 minutes. So I decided to clean install the Windows and run a Crystal Disk stress test, after like 30 seconds or so into the test (reading) it blue screens me. After restart it starts right into the BIOS and there isn't any bootable device present, only after another restart. The error code that I got is WEA_UNCORRECTABLE_ERROR. Do you think is only SSD related or there is some other problem with my system as well? Any help will be appreciated. :D

See title. Not sure what to do. PC runs great during any game and even streaming but crashes a few minutes into prime95 and cinebench. I have applied no overclocks at all. Every bios settings is default other than XMP enabled. The most recent crash the cpu hit 65c during prime 95. I had it crash at 50c the time before though. I monitored the vrm temps through armoury crate and it also only maxed out at 55 degrees. Well i am a little confused. Some recommend prime other linpack others swear on occt but almost nobody i look up exactly writes with setting they use. so i want to know which of these test are the heaviest and best for what reason and how long should i run one of these test for stability. something like a overview. i mainly looking at these test : prime95 small fft ( extremly hard on everything so i quit it ) xtu cpu stress test (all xtu test doesnt seam as hard as the other options) xtu cpu stress test with avx or avx2 - occt "cpu index tab" small auto or avx/avx2 mode normal ( also extremly hard on thermals and power draw so i also quit it beforhand ) occt "cpu index tab" big auto or avx/avx2 mode normal (harder then some other options but much more easly then occt small and/or prime ) occt "linpack index tab" 2019 or 2021 (are this good test. these seams hard but not unmanagably like other options) linpack extreme ( not tryed jet ) occt mode extreme (is this the same as linpack extreme? - also not tried jet ) cinebench r23 (from what i can tell okish for thermal testing but for stability are better options elsewhere) so i was thinking on going with occt linpack 2019 because of all the options that i run and read about it seams to be a hard enough test right. i currently want to undervolt my cpu 10gen because of powersaving any insight from experienced overclocker/ undervolter would be great.

Hi there, I was hoping you guys tell me if this is normal. I have a 9700k with only intel boost enabled and i noticed that my temps are always fluctuating, sometimes 10º C from one second to the other, so i decided to do a stress test so that i could see if it would stabilize. The temps keep rising and faling and i dont know if it was a bad installation due to bad contact from the paste, if the cpu is defective or even if this is normal ocurrence. I leave a Print so you guys can see and Hope you could help me. By the way my cooler is a NZXT X52 an the Mobo is a MEG Z390 ACE.

I'm new here so hello ... Okay so I’m just wondering what exactly is going wrong with this cooler, I’ve seen numerous people run stress test benchmarks such as prime95 with temperatures maxing in the 80’s with my CPU + Cooler Config. However, after conducting a short 7-minute stress test with Prime95 my temperature shortly exceeded (TjMax) for my processor. Which is 100 degrees Celsius. Tjunction Max is defined as the maximum temperature the cores can reach before thermal throttling is activated to prevent damage. NB: I’m fully aware stress tests are unrealistic loads applied to the CPU, this was conducted to set my upper limits for water loop temperature and custom fan curve. After reading around there are a few people who have said their mounting screws were a little loose, I've checked and it seems stable, any suggestions on what this may be or if this is just normal behaviour for AIO's with P95. Thanks in advance for any replies. So, I just bought a new gaming rig: MSi B350 Tomahawk Arctic Ryzen 5 1600 Trident Z 3200MHz ASUS Dual GTX 1070 8GB And I decided to OC my Ryzen. I am on 3.9GHz and 1.35V right now. Cinebench is working perfectly normal, but when I run Aida64, the program alone crashes. And that got me confused because when the OC wasnt working, the PC crashed entirely when I ran cinebench. So is the Aida crash a problem of the problem itself or is it the OC Thanks!

Hello Guys. I am planning to build a new pc after a few month .I don't have one now.Had a shitty laptop of 2005.Now its broken. SO i gained most of the hardware knowledge by watching youtube videos and pretty much selected the parts. But i have no fucking knowledge what to do next after building it.??So i need some help starting from bios. What to do in bios. What gpu and other drivers to install. What test software to install. How to select boot druve, overclocking and all that stuffs. Can anyone suggest me some guilde or youtube videos or something else which will help me in all that cases. THANKS. Please ingore grammatical errors ?

Hey, I was running a Aida 64 extreem stability test and the system was experiencing thermal throttling so I stopped the test. Right after I stopped the test the system shuts down and restarts. What could this be? HP elitebook 850 g4 I5 7200U, 16gb ddr4, AMD r7 350m The cpu was undervolted but I was using it stable for a 3 weeks.

Cpu Thermal Throttling Xtu stress test
jasonyaputra posted a topic in CPUs, Motherboards, and Memory
Hi fellow tech guys, so i have a i7 4710hq cpu on my laptop and i undervolt it only 50mV which is the ideal limit for this cpu. So far gaming from light to hardcore has been fine with no drops and temp is only 85°C at worse case which is still good. Thermal paste is arctic mx4 i just reapplied it. But yesterday i decided to run a 30minute stress test for no reason just cause im bored and the temps are constant only 55-71°C but why is it throttling ? I noticed the throttle occurs only when maxcore frequency is high enough above 2GHz then it will drop and repeat for 30mins. Looking at the graph I uploaded will be clearer than me explaining. See the orange line graph goes up and down constantly. When the throttle occurs, the orange graph drops then it repeats. My temps are never above 75°C. So is this a problem? -
So I‘ve been trying to overclock my Ryzen 7 1700 and I‘ve noticed something strange. When I run Asus RealBench (2.56) from my HDD (at 3.7 GHz, 1.250V) it fails and is unstable. When I load RealBench from my SSD though with the same settings, it‘s absolutely stable. I tried replacing my HDD‘s SATA cable and even used a different SATA header but no luck. Is my HDD failing or is there some other explaination?

Hey all, brand new pc. Running a NH-D15 Cooler for my Ryzen 3900X. I am worried its running too hot, and was hoping to get input as to if it is, why it could be, etc. This screenshot on HWinfo was taken after after I had been running Prime95 Small FFTs for ~10 mins (Was taken while running the stress test), and I was wondering if there's any evidence of my CPU running too hot in the screenshot. Any help is GREATLY appreciated since this is my first costly pc build.

It's been a long time since I did a stress test on a cpu, but I got a Ryzen 3700x with stock cooler on and want to see what will my gains be with my old Noctua NH-D14 (had to wait for the mounting adapter to come). I tried running Prime95 small ffts, but HWInfo only showed a max temp of 70C with the stock cooler. Last time I did something like this the temps on my 4790K went up to 85C in a second. So, are those values ok? Is Ryzen really cooler? What temps should I expect? What's the best software to use for testing? Thanks

My PC fell to sleep when doing the Aida64 CPU stress test and now there is 40min missing from the log (test started 11:43, elapsed time 4:57 and current time is 16:40). I assume this shouldn't happen and how do i prevent it from happening again? EDIT: Im gonna try rerunning the test but disabling the sleep function.

So I ran a cpu stresstest for my cpu (an i5 4670k overclocked to 4Ghz) and I got some weird results : In the task manager windows was telling me my cpu was running at 4.68 Ghz ? While the max speed is set to 4Ghz ?? How is that possible ? http://imgur.com/a/uYn25

Hey there! I used CpuZ on my laptop which has a Core i3-3110M. It is a **** cpu, but I tried it out. This is a little weird tho, since when I didn't stress the CPU, the disk was at around 70-80%. But when I did stress it, the disk went to 0%. I thought this was weird, because I thought they were like, better when they did it together. I don't really know, but thanks in advance

Hello guys! I am currently overclocking my system and I had the idea whether it would be possible to mine while testing the CPU? If I run a CPU Test for 2 days, I could run a miner and get at least a few bucks back. Are there any complications? Greetings! DJS

So i tested my build i finished a week ago in firestrike and i got a weird error. I tabed out to look after the temps (GPU was at 85, CPU at 60°C) and when i dragged a window around they multiplied(?).. like they did in windows xp sometimes. Is there something wrong?

Hey, So ive been using Ai Suite for Fan expert for the last month and i was just doing a stress test today as i plan to overclock next week, but i noticed something Semi-worrying.HWMonitor was reading temps as 60-65 whereas Ai suite was reading them as 50-55 (both under load)And since my fan curves are set through Ai suite they arnt spinning as fast as they should when they reach a certain temperature (in HWMonitor). I did read somewhere that Ai suite reads temps from the socket, which is reccomended by intel, where as HWMonitor reads them from the dye. Anyway, what do you guys suggest?Keep using Ai suite or just do my prefered curves in BIOS?

Hello, i am here to ask for help once again. This is probably the last shot, i'm giving at this since i have wrote 9 threads all across the internet. I received some feedback, but I haven't met the fix yet. Enough with the introduction let's get to the deal. I have bought myself a computer from scratch. I bought every piece by myself, i put it all together myself. When i got my computer all put up and ready, i installed myself Windows 8.1. Everything is fast, looks fine, no problems. Until I try to play games. In CS:GO 1280x1024 resolution, everything on medium. I get 150-200 FPS max. Which is not enough in my eyes. In H1Z1 ultra or high or even medium. I have same FPS on all the different graphic modes. The FPS goes from 45-70 and that's the most it's going. When i get into a firefight it drops below 40 which makes it impossible to play, since i die in every firefight almost. In GTA V ultra, i have 70-80 FPS, but when i crash my car or make some explosions it drops below 40 aswell. So in conclusion i have a good gaming PC which is brand new, but its not giving me the full potential it should be. I should be running these games with ease. I don't know i'm getting kinda desperate and running out of hope. I got messages telling me to reinstall Windows, and I did. I bought myself an SSD, and i reinstalled my whole windows, and activated it. I still have the same problem, so i know its hardware one. I would like to know which part of my computer is causing the lag problems. I am willing to pay a skin in csgo, thats worth around 60 in steam market, i can also cash it out for paypal cash in opskin, and then make you a paypal transaction, but there will be a fee, and u wont get the full 60 euros that its worth. This is just for motivational purpouses. Feel free to ask me anything, ill try to awnser fast, such as stress tests, and temepratures and so on. PS: Power options set to high, and processor power options 100%. Maybe something is broken/underclocked i don't know much about computers. Temperatures are around 35-60 degrees celcius. Sorry for english mistakes, its not my mother tounge.

Title pretty-much sums up everything, I wan't to try OC:ing my CPU a little. OS: Win 10 CPU: 6700K Cooler: Arctic cooling Freezer i30 Mobo: Maximus VIII ranger RAM: 16GB ballistix, 2400Mhz. Guide me. 1. What programs should I use for monitoring the voltages and temps. I am using Win 10, and coretemp for some reason freezes my PC, it does this by pumping all my 16GB of ram full of data, and then even fills the additional 16GB I apparently have on my HDD's. So a total of a 32GB memory leak... Quite worrying. Could be just an old version of the program but... 2. What programs should I use to stress test my CPU. IIRC Prime 95 isn't recommended for Haswell, I can't see how it would be recommended for Skylake either then, any insight to what I should use here? 3. What voltages are fine, what settings should I modify in the BIOS. I have an Asus Maximus VIII ranger, options are a plenty, I just don't know what all of them do. And if I do know what does something do, I won't necessarily know if it needs to be changed, and if it can help.
