  1. hello considering the 7900x3d is 50 euros more in my country is it goin to give a boost to gaming paired with an rtx 4070 super at 1440P resolution? the build is goin to do some productivity tasks to but gaming is a big part of the build(7800x3d is a no option).thnx in advance
  2. I currently have a Ryzen 9 3900X paired with an RTX 2080 Super OC 8G and 64GB ram at 3600mhz. I am planning to replace my 2080 Super OC with an ASUS Dual 4070 OC 12G. Will that be a problem with performance? Or will there be a bottleneck with my Ryzen 9 3900x. I thought my CPU was super powerful due to the core count and all that but apparently the Ryzen 7 has some newer CPU's with less cores that are better. Anyway just seeing if someone can help shed some light, I also plan to get a 1440P monitor when I get the 4070 aswell, thanks!
  3. hello its been a long time since i visited this game lots of patches ago,and with the same settings DLSS Quality i used to have 80-100 fps+ on 1440p after updating im playing with 39-55 fps, totally unplayable with low gpu usage,i know it may be cpu bottleneck but what can y do?Same setup since then!even lowered crowd, nothing!any thoughts?thnx RTX 2080 Super OC R9 3900x 16gb ram 3600mhz
  4. Greetings! I am looking to upgrade my computer with these 3 components. Do they work with each other? Will there be any compatibility issues with my current setup? I know Ryzen is very sensitive when it comes to ram, is the one I picked going to enable my cpu to perform at its peak? Any bottlenecking? My Current Setup: LianLi Galahad 240mm MSI RTX 3060 Seasonic Focus Plus 750W NZXT S340 White Ryzen 9 3900x Corsair Vengeance LED 2x8GB 3000mhz Asus Prime X370-PRO But of course these last 3 will be replaced. Thank you in advance.
  5. Hello there, I just recently created another new topic regard my newly built PC with the following specs: Cooler (Top of Case, pushing air out): NZXT Kraken X73 RGB 360 mm AIO CPU: AMD Ryzen9 7900x GPU: ZOTAC 4080 TrinityOC MB: ASUS TUF GAMING B650-PLUS WIFI RAM: 32GB (2*16) Corsair Vengeance DDR5 5600 SSD: 2*Samsung 980Pro 1TB + 2 TB Case: Sharkoon ELITE SHARK CA300T I already tightened the pump on the CPU and I changed the cooling settings in the bios. Before it would go max. speed at 70°, I changed it so it goes max. at 60°. My expectations were that the CPU temp. is gonna be acting similarly as before, justt roughly 10° degrees lower (I know it doesn't quite work like that, but it was worth a try) Now to the problem itself: My CPU gets too hot (for my liking) and doesn't get cooled down properly. I tested this with a few games and the cooler doesn't do as well as I'd hoped. Also, it's different for each game, so here are the scenarios: 1) Cyberpunk: Start-up of game is fine, playing the game the temp. is around 70-75° and rarely spikes to 80°. This was before and after changing CPU fan settings. CPU usage is at 10% max. the entire time. 2) Hogwarts legacy: Start-up of game the temp goes up to 92-95° because the CPU usage is at 100% momentarily. Now, sometimes this spike is a bit longer and the cooler just can't seem to handle the CPU temps at 100% usage. It is kinda scary to me, because I would imagine/expect the cooler to be able to handle the CPU at its full capacity. After the start-up the usage goes down and the temps go between 68 - 78° during actually playing. 3) Horizon Zero Dawn: Start-up approaching 90-93° at 35% CPU usage. Doesn't really cool down. Once the game starts it's between 65-75°, occasionally spiking to < 80°. 4) HWInfo + prime95 stress test: The results are attached. I apologize, I am unfamiliar with the software and it did track everything, although just putting it into excel or similar should do the trick hopefully. Anyway, it is weird that in the beginning the temp. is at 95° and doesn't get handled. Eventually it jumps down to ~70°, after some time spikes back to 95° and then goes back down to 70 ish... and then eventually one last jump up to 95° where it stays. As a conclusion: I'd like my CPU temp. to easily stay BELOW at least 90° if not less. I heard about this Ryzen Gen having higher temps, which is generally fine with me. But this doesn't seem right, does it? I feel like it should be able to keep the temps below 90° at least, especially with the 360mm AIO... What should I check? How should I check? Do you guys need more input? Or is this maybe normal for this CPU? results.CSV
  6. Hey everyone, I upgraded my 1070 to an RX6800 very impulsively today after my 1070 died while playing battlefront II. After lots of troubleshooting before purchasing my new GPU. My motherboard ASUS X570 Tuf Gaming Plus (wifi) was displaying the troubleshooting code for VGA. We tried clearing cmos, booting without GPU, switching PCI slots, etc. my system is as follows. R9 3900XT, RX6800 GPU, 32GB Corsair Vengance 3200MHz, ASUS X570 Tuf Gaming Plus (wifi). We were able to boot once with the new graphics card in place. But now it’s not booting and stuck at the original problem. White VGA light and not finishing the post sequence. Please heeeelp..
  7. Or any ryzen 9. Doesn’t have to be the exact CPU above. All I’m asking is: 1. How many vehicles can be spawned in before the game is unplayable
  8. Hi guys, I read through the manual of the TUF board hoping to find anything about SATA Ports being disabled when using 2 NVMe 3.0 drives. Although the manual mention no such thing, it seems that the board will still disable half of it Ports when using dual NVMe: If that is the case, that means I need an additional 4 SATA Ports from something like a RAID controller to connect all my storage I plan on using, but will I even have enough PCIe lanes for that? I plan on using: -2 GPUs with bifurcation -2 NVMe drives -2 SSDs -4 HDDs. That means 24 lanes are in use, so I should have at least 4 more lanes for my RAID controller, right? Summed up Current specs: Proxmox 7.1.1 -R9 3950x -MSI B450 Carbon AC (because of dual NVMe all PCIe slots except the first are disabled, 2 Sata ports are disabled) -GTX 750 -Dual NVMe -2 Sata SSDs -2 NAS HDDs my planned upgrade: -ASUS TUF X570 Plus (bifurication, more PCIe lanes) -GTX 1660S for Hardware encoding (Plex) -2 or more additional HDDs for expanding my storage pool I already asked a similair question yesterday, but its still not quite clear to me, if this will work as I expect.
  9. Hello, i just finished my new PC build (100% new parts, new windows etc.) Can someone tell me, why my cpu is hot and the aio H170i "cold"?
  10. Hey so I’ve been receiving worse and worse Frame rates sense building (about 6 months ago) on my rig. I’ve tried everything from replacing my Gpu through Nvidia to upgrading my cpu to replacing my motherboard (and everything software wise as well that I can think of). I really am looking for out of the box (or overlooked basic) solutions to try and somehow fix this problem! I’ve reached out to Nvidia, Amd, And Best Buy as well as Bringing my computer in to be diagnosed at 2 local computer stores and one couldn’t find an issue and the other said the monitor is capping the pc’s frames at 60 which I figured was bogus, but either way my monitor’s 144hz and my (2070 Super) laptop gets 300fps on the same monitor so either way, bogus! I’ve tried darn near everything, any suggestions would be much appreciated! Specs: Gpu - FE RTX 3090 Cpu - Ryzen 9 5950x Psu - Corsair Rmx 1000w Mb - Asus ROG Strix B550-A AM4 ATX OS - Windows 10 Pro 64-bit Ram - 32Gb 4x8 G.skill Trident Z
  11. I have recently made my CAD workstation and have been having so many issues the machine is now unusable. Every time i update my display drivers or try to install my GPU (GTX 1050) drivers my pc always shuts down and upon reboot the screen has a strange glitch when trying to load windows. The machine works fine but as soon as graphics drivers are being installed it crashes immediately. See attached images of the issue with the screen glitching. I have been looking to buy a Quadro to finally finish the system build but I am obviously holding back on that in light of the issues am having. Please see attached images for info about the machine
  12. Alright so I've had no end of trouble regarding a CPU/MOBO upgrade that I've done recently and think I have narrowed down the root of my problems to software on Windows but that's where I run into a wall so here's hoping someone can help me out with this. Here are my system specs: OS: Windows 10 21H2 19044.1348 MOBO: MSI X570 Tomahawk WiFi CPU: AMD Ryzen 9 5950X Cooler: Corsair H150I Closed Loop Liquid Cooler RAM: 32GB - 4x 8GB 3600 mHz CL16 16-16-16-36 G-Skill Ripjaw V GPU: MSI Geforce GTX 980 TI PSU: Corsair HX1200I 1200 Watt The symptoms observed and how to reproduce them: have above hardware configuration, install Windows 10 fresh with no internet access, copy chipset drivers from MSI website using another computer and USB drive, install chipset and other MOBO drivers offline, install Nvidia drivers offline, connect to internet, run windows updates, install geforce experience, check geforce drivers with geforce experience, install steam, install Fallout 76, Fallout 4, Arma 3, launch Fallout 76, load into game world, experience 10 FPS. The steps I have taken to try and troubleshoot this problem: go out and buy currently running RAM to replace previously used 2400mHz RAM, check all BIOS settings, disable XMP, disable IOMMU, make sure all memory related settings are on auto, make sure BIOS is running latest update from MSI, run Furmark to see if GPU is issue, run CPU-Z bench to see if CPU is performing, run Passmark system test to see if all parts are performing. At this point I decided to install Manjaro Linux and Steam as well as Steam's Experimental build of Proton.... Installed Fallout 4, Fallout 76, Arma 3, tested all 3, ran smooth as butter..... Ready to rip my hair out since now I know that there is something fishy going on inside Windows that is causing this insane stuttering in every game I launch. See below for the benchmark results as well as the output from CPU-Z and GPU-Z.... Please help, I have no choice but to run Windows as my daily driver due to work and really shouldn't have to switch to dual booting Linux to get stable gaming performance after my work day is over....
  13. So, I've jumped the power supply, disconnected everything except the sata-4pin adapter that's connected to the pump & it isn't pumping. I just wanted to see the motor spin before I go full send & fill the reservoir but I've tried powering it on with 4 different PSUs & same thing, PSU on, pump doesn't go. Does it need water to run? Has anyone filled a loop like this who can help me out?
  14. I'm an engineering student who's recently built their first long-awaited PC with a Ryzen 9 5900X (and 3080, but that's a pipedream atm unfortunately). As a somewhat interested newcomer, I did a little bit of research into overclocking and dialed in a 4.45 GHz all-core with 1.33 V core voltage. This was the max I could get it stable at without going over 1.35 V. I also enabled XMP for my 32GB CL16 3200 MHz Corsair Vengeance LPX RAM, and enabled PBO+Curve Optimiser with Motherboard power limits. Here's the interesting bit - somehow, sometimes, my HWinfo and Task manager readouts give me 5.3 GHz as my CPU clock speed at max load. Seeking to confirm this, I ran Cinebench R23 on the 10-minute test and achieved 21 passes, a score of 27000+ and max temps of below 85C with a Noctua NH-D15 air cooler. I have no idea how this has happened. I'm not looking to do any record-setting here, just want to get to the bottom of this and figure out what's going on. Happy to provide info on the hardware/setup as requested.
  15. I just bought a new Ryzen 9 5900x to upgrade my build, and I am going to pair with an B550/X570 Aorus Master, but the motherboard was out of stock and I only could buy the CPU, I have a ASRock B450M Steel Legend with a Ryzen 3 3200G (OC 4.2GHz). Can I use the Ryzen 9 5900x (for now would be just gaming, after the motherboard change I will start doing productivity work) on this motherboard with out destroying my VRMs? (I intend to sell this board later on). Picture of the setup attach, air flow configuration is 3 intake, 9 exaust (top using push pull config), bottom fans with +/-1500rpm, side 800rpm, top 1100rpm. 16. I'm planning my jump from laptop to PC bc I need more power, issue is, said laptop has a Xeon e series cpu, 16gb of ram, & a Quadro p1000. The budget is dirt cheap & I've chosen the arbitrary bar that the pc need to be 4x the capability of my laptop to make up for the loss of mobility. So if with a bit of rounding, a Ryzen 9 5950x is just under 4x the cpu, x570 seems to be a solid chipset but so many chipsets are biased towards gaming, the content creator & workstation offerings look outdated & overpriced in comparison. I am favoring the idea of the Gigabyte Aorus Ultra or buying a more premium MSI or Gigabyte board used unless y'all have some nuggets of wisdom to share Budget (including currency): 350 Country: usa Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: inventor, autocad, Stella architect, adobe illustrator, editing 4k footage, slicing, podcasting, vpn, ISP, light programming
  17. I know this is repeated but I got no choice please I got to know those values
  18. i build a pc. specs: Ryzen 9 5900x mobo: asus x570 rog strix f ssd : samsung 970 evo plus 1t cooler, asus lc rog strix 360 rad ram: corsair vengence pro rgb 16 cl 16 3600 gpu: asus rog strix 2080 super how does it look with the aio cooler in front and fans inside also have 2 fans at top and 1 fan and back ps case is corsair 540 air flow
  19. Hi all, Been reading the forums for a while, first time posting. I have an opportunity to get most of the hardware for a new PC at a very low price, but it's available only through January, early February. Considering I can get the 5950x for a very low price, is there a reason to wait and see what Intel announces mid-January? Can the 11900K outperform the 5950x? From all the leaks it looks like Intel might show better performance in some games due to better single core performance but it at the cost of heat, power and worse multi core performance. I'll be using the PC mostly for Games, Blender, Illustrator and Photoshop. Am I crazy for thinking of waiting or is there a good reason to wait for Intel?
  20. Hello, this might be a bit of a long shot but I am planning on building a PC that will be partially used for virtualization testing. I plan on getting the new Ryzen 9, but due to type of applications, I would require as much RAM as possible, preferably 256GB. Would this be possible with AM4 board? Threadripper is sadly out of budget. Thank you.
  21. EDIT: If anyone finds this after all this time, I managed to get it to work with 4x32GB Dimms. I had to reset BIOS multiple times until the System was willing to boot. After that it worked as expected: Handle 0x003E, DMI type 17, 92 bytes Memory Device Array Handle: 0x0034 Error Information Handle: 0x003D Total Width: 72 bits Data Width: 64 bits Size: 32 GB Form Factor: DIMM Set: None Locator: DIMM_A2 Bank Locator: BANK 1 Type: DDR4 Type Detail: Synchronous Unbuffered (Unregistered) Speed: 3200 MT/s Manufacturer: Kingston Serial Number: EE935C24 Asset Tag: Not Specified Part Number: 9965745-039.A00G Rank: 2 Configured Memory Speed: 3200 MT/s Minimum Voltage: 1.2 V Maximum Voltage: 1.2 V Configured Voltage: 1.2 V Memory Technology: DRAM Memory Operating Mode Capability: Volatile memory Firmware Version: Unknown Module Manufacturer ID: Bank 2, Hex 0x98 Module Product ID: Unknown Memory Subsystem Controller Manufacturer ID: Unknown Memory Subsystem Controller Product ID: Unknown Non-Volatile Size: None Volatile Size: 32 GB Cache Size: None Logical Size: None ---------- Hello Guys, I plan on upgrading the RAM of my Homeserver that runs Proxmox and a lot of VMs from 64GB 3200MHz to 128GB ECC. Does anyone have experience with using ECC RAM on Ryzen? I looked at the supported RAM for my Mainboard, which seems to support Unbuffered ECC RAM: https://rog.asus.com/motherboards/rog-strix/rog-strix-x570-f-gaming-model/spec/ The cheapest Unbuffered ECC RAM per GB I found was the Kingston DIMM 32 GB DDR4-3200 ECC (KSM32ED8/32HC). Can anyone approve, that this will work with my setup? Thank you!
  22. Just wanted to see what people thought and speculated in terms of taming the heat output of the new upcoming Ryzen 9 CPUs. I think I’m gonna be upgrading to the 7950x personally, and am wondering whether Air Cooling or AIO would be best. With a high boost clock of 5.7ghz, I can only imagine that this thing will be generating heat like crazy. What are your thoughts? Do you think coolers will be redesigned at all for these new CPUs? Will Noctua NH-D15s be sufficient for air cooling? Are AIOs gonna be the better choice for those who don’t want to fool with custom loop water cooling?
  23. I want to sue YouTube for my Bricked motherboard. I was watching a tutorial on YouTube for enabling TPM 2.0 and installing Windows 11 on a Gigabyte B450m DS3H board. I wanted to upgrade to Windows 11 on my PC, but the setup kept telling me my system doesn't meet the minimum requirements. The guy in tutorial changed the TPM setting to enable and also changed secure boot platform key settings, so I followed the steps and behold, my motherboard is now bricked! I wish I could've seen the dislikes on that tutorial or read the description before attempt. Tell me how do I reach YouTube to get my motherboard's worth of money back or you guys give me good motherboard recommendations for micro ATX form factor pc. My current PC specs are: CPU: AMD Ryzen 9 5900X GPU: Gigabyte Windforce AMD RX580 8GB OC Cooler: Silverstone PF 240mm AIO ARGB Memory: Corsair Vengeance 32GB (8x4) DDR4 3000Mhz Storage: Crucial P2 500GB m.2 nvme SSD, WD Green 240GB Sata SSD PSU: Corsair RM1000X Case: Silverstone Fara H1M
  24. My system is stuck at 0.5ghz? Have changed power options etc, tried resetting PC, full reinstall sorted it but it has suddenly returned in game. Has been fine for months, all liquid cooled no high temps. Please help, at a complete loss. Ross.
  25. I need some help troubleshooting this weird situation. My machine is: ProArt X670E-CREATOR WIFI Ryzen 9 7950X 64gb Ram (2x 32gb of Crucial CT2K32G52C42U5) Geforce 4080 Noctua NH-D15 3x M.2 drives After I finished the build, I flashed the BIOS to the newest version and did not turn on any AI overclocking stuff, I kept everything standard and installed Windows 10 Pro. Installed all drivers (chipset, Nvidia etc) The issue is Windows 10 is super sluggish and the Ryzen 9 7950X runs at a clock speed of 2.5Ghz. Temps on full load are around 45c and idles around 31c. Running a Cinebench R23 test, Task manager CPU utilization is not going over 60%. I tried enabling AI OC in Bios and it’s the same exact results. Windows is super sluggish. So I called ASUS and after some questioning, they told me the motherboard was perfect and to call AMD. I called AMD, and after their questioning they told me to “ask a friend who has the same CPU to borrow and test in my machine..” I don’t have a friend with the same CPU so I ordered another one on Amazon and for good measure and further testing, I ordered 2 sticks of QVL approved Crucial ram. The ram I use in the machine are not QVL approved (Crucial website says they are 100% compatible with the ProArt X670E-CREATOR WIFI, whatever that means. So here’s the strange thing.. the new CPU and RAM are coming tomorrow am, so I decided to install Windows 11 just for kicks.. and the CPU is running full speed.. What the hell is happening? Windows 10 Cinebench multicore I was getting 2850 points, and in Windows 11 I get 21335 (I'm in third position)- the temps go to 90c on full load. Single core I get 2022 points and in 1st position. One thing though is that when Cinebench is running the test, the CPU oscillates, meaning it’s going to 100% then down a little, then to 100% etc.. I can also hear the fans kicking in the same oscillation pattern, is this normal ?or should it be full on to 100% all the time during the test? My score is not so bad I’m in 3rd position. I have to do more testing. ..But the thing is I need to use Windows 10 Pro and it's f$%# in there! It's my first build in 13 years so I'm a newb again and I need some help! What do you guys think is going on?
