Hi! Built a new computer, need it for work. Context: - New parts: i7 14700k + Maxsun Z790 + 64gb ram corsair 6000mhz + MSI MAG A850GL 850W. - Old parts: RX590 TDP 175W (need to use old GPU, I test games). Cleaned and put new thermal paste. Extra info: Updated bios, drivers, everything. Mobo has 2 CPU power headers, I plugged both of them in. Extra info: CPU is not overheating (PS120SE), GPU is not overheating, memory is not overheating. Problem: - Computer crashes if I leave the RX590 at 100% power limit. Mouse/image freezes and I need to reboot manually. - Stable if I leave the RX590 at 85% power limit. - Stable if I put my old PSU (old model CX600M) even with the GPU at 115% power limit. Tests I did (all with stock CPU/mobo, except for first): Hypothesis: a) New 850w PSU is optimized for PCI-E5 (16pin) so it can't "deliver" much through a 8pin (6+2) RX590. b) Some stock config is letting the mobo pull insane amount of powers (its at default/stock). c) Faulty 850W PSU. d) RX590 (TDP 175W) + 14700k is "too much" for a the MSI MAG A850 850W (gold rated, tier A) - this would make no sense as the CX600M was holding the same setup fine. e) I'm dumb and I'm missing something obvious. Questions: I) What should I do? I'm tweaking for 5 days and getting insane, I can't return the PSU now as I need this pc to work, I got a newborn baby and money is short. II) Does it make "sense" that the new PSU is optimized for new cards and deliver "too little" on the old 6+2 pci-express cable GPU? III) Does the type of "crash" with the image freezing, fans still spinning means something in particular? Or is it generic? Every error I had was 41-(63) Kernel-Power. I'd love to test a PCI-E (16pin) GPU as it would be de definite test but I don't have money for one. Thanks, sorry for the wall of text, trying to make it as organized as possible. Extra: PSU specifications, I don't know how to check how much power it delivers through the 8pins pci-e default (the "main" one is the 16pins)

Hello so my AMD RX 590 (MSI Armor 8GB Edition) for the past couple of months has been experiencing this weird issue where the driver seems to time out after a while of being doing some gaming even garry's mod causes it, the game will freeze followed by a black screen and a return to desktop giving me only the AMD bug report tool. It only seems to do this once per boot it seems. Ive tried DDU and redownloading then re-installing the driver and that didnt work. I thought it might be a thermal problem so i replaced the stock thermal paste which was still quite maluable on the card with Arctic MX-4 and i still have the problem. Ive tried under clocking the card and under volting as i thought the card might auto reduce the clock speed when it crashes but no luck. Ive tired maxing out the voltage on the control panel and that didnt fix it either, Ive tried different power supplys and double checked current modules and tried different modules on my 1100w 80+ gold rated PSU Old drivers dont seem to make much difference either even ones from when I knew it was working properly. I hope someone can help me fix this problem as it really bugs me as this started to happen on my previous build before this one... Thanks My full specs are: GPU: MSI RX 590 Armor 8GB OC CPU: Ryzen 7 3800x RAM: 16gb Corsair Vengence @3000mhz MOBO: MSI 570-X PRO PSU: Aerocool Strike-X 1100Watt 80+ Gold

My GPU: Radeon RX 590 Sapphire Nitro + Greetings, yesterday morning my GPU froze twice. The first time a restart fixed it, but after the restart I couldn't open AMD software saying that its not compatible with the driver. I continued on but after about an hour it froze once more and this time after the reset my monitor resolution was messed up and my both screens displayed the same image and I still couldn't open AMD software. My monitor is still connected through the GPU and its lights/fans are still working, but the only place I can see that it's connected is in Device Manager. Other than that in Task Manager and User benchmark it shows me that I don't have a dedicated GPU. So far I've tried reinstalling drivers and installing updates, but nothing has fixed the issue yet. The GPU is only about to be 3 years old. Now that I think it might have crashed it brings back memories of times when it was acting weird. For example, according to AMD I'm supposed to run Shadow of The Tomb Raider at 1080p max settings with around 69 FPS, but last time I played I was getting sub 30 FPS on min-medium settings. Would like to know how can I make sure it has truly died, since from the outside it seem still functional and It does show up on Device manager as an display adapter.

Hello everyone. I’m trying to get my XFX Radeon RX 590 Fatboy OC+ to a stable and fast frequency. My core clock is at 1545 by default... I am running uningine superposition and it always thermal throttles. So I try undervolting the gpu by every reasonable amount MSI Afterburner allows (6, 12, 18, 25, 31, 37). All of them eventually crashed. And so did standard voltage and frequency (about half the time). The only stable frequency / voltage combination I could get (no throttle) is 1500 / -31mv fyi: this is my first pc build so I’m fairly new but I do know quite a bit about this type of stuff. Also yes, I have tried the two newest gpu driver versions and made sure windows is most up to date. any help is appreciated, so thanks in advance! ps I added a picture of my settings for reference.

So recently I've noticed global warning is affecting my gaming experience. System specs: - R5 2600 @ 3.9GHz on all cores - Sapphire RX 590 Nitro+ @ 1650MHz GPU and 2250MHz Memory with fans running at 100% - Aorus Gaming Elite B450 motherboard - 3 intake Azza Hurricane 120mm fans - 1 cheap exhaust 120mm fan that came along with the cheap case Marvo CA-210 that has slots for 3 exhaust fans (1 at the back and 2 at the top) I don't really care about aesthetics that much because I put my case in a dedicated hole in my desk, but don't worry because it has plenty of space for a fairly good air flow. Acoustics are not a problem either because I'm a solo player so I just use my headphones and that's it. The problem I've been having is that since about a month ago, I've gotten crashes while playing because of the GPU. I noticed the crashes happen when the GPU temperature reaches +73C° approximately. I guess this temperature is unstable for the OC, because I used to reach stable 68-70C° and would never crash. I mostly play only AC Odyssey and I was able to notice the temperature reaches these values when I spend too much time in the menu. One other factor I think is affecting me is the room temperature. When I bought the system back in December 2018 the temperature was more stable at night when I play at about 21-22C°, but right now it's 24-25C° (I live in Costa Rica btw, tropical weather basically). Yesterday I played The Division 2 for like 20 min and the GPU reached 79° and the game crashed and then I said "no that's it, I need air flow..." In summary I used be able to play at the very edge of the crash before thanks to the room temp, but now I can't because it has increased. Since I'm no longer able to get around with the cheap air flow solution I have, I'd like to upgrade the intake and exhaust fans as well as get a heat sink for my R5 2600 to see if I can reach 4.2GHz. My questions would be the following: - What are the best high air flow fans I could get for my system? I need 3 intake RGB fans for the front (because it's the only part of the PC that can be seen), the other 3 exhaust fans can be ugly but with good performance. Maybe you can provide silent, value and high performance options. - What heat sink would be able to get me the 4.2GHz on my R5 2600 without being super over killed for my CPU? Again, maybe silent, value and high performance options would be good. Preferably high static pressure fans in the heat sink would be appreciated. - Would this even improve my situation with temps at all? Remember my RX590 is already running its fans at 100%. Thanks in advance!

Hello, I am just wondering if anyone can see any problems/improvements to this build my budget is around $700 and can't particularly move from that point. I believe that all of the parts which I have chosen will fit into the case and the fans will aswell. I would rather retain the mini ATX case due to the portability of it. the power supply is another worry of mine due to it being so close to the estimated wattage.IF you have any questions about the build or anything else I will attempt to answer back as soon as possible. Hi, so a while ago I decided to upgrade my GPU. The problem is that I can't decide which to pick. I also have a Ryzen 5 1600 CPU. My first option is a RX 590 Sapphire Nitro+ S.E. model, which comes with a 3 month Xbox Game Pass and is 215$. Second is a GTX 1660 Gigabyte Windforce OC model, which does not come with anything and is 230$. And the last option for me is a GTX 1660 Ti MSI Ventus model, which does not come with anything and is 270$. I'd go for GTX 1660 Ti without asking but in a few benchmarks I've seen my CPU bottlenecking it so I wanted to ask here aswell. Thanks for answering!

For my first PC build, I chose to get a Radeon RX 590 as the graphics card. I'm wondering what a safe temperature for this card to be running at is. At idle it sits around 37-38°C, which I know is fine. However, when I play more intense games, it gets pretty hot. When playing Forza Horizon 4, it gets up to around 75-77°C, which I feel okay about. However, when I play Apex Legends or Titanfall 2, it heats up to around 82-83°C. I'm not sure how safe this is for my card long-term. I've heard conflicting things about whether it is okay for a card to run at this temp. The card can handle games fine when it gets this hot. I don't experience any freezing or lag of any sort. I'm just not sure if it is okay for it to heat up this much. Is this an okay temperature, or should I try to cool the card down more? I already have all the fan slots filled in my case, so I can't really increase airflow any more. The only thing I know of that I might could do is increase the fan curve, but I'm not sure how to to that. I would appreciate any advice on whether this temp is okay, and what I should do if it's not.

Hello, I've been watching LTT and Techquickie videos for a long time. This is my first post here. I want to get a new PC. Here is the build: CPU - i5 9400f Motherboard - ASRock B365 Pro4 RAM - 8GB (3200MHz) HDD - 1 TB Meachanical drive (SSD maybe later) PSU - 500 watt Monitor - HP 22f GPU - Sapphire Nitro RX 590 or Colorful 1660 (both have same price in my country; 1660 a tiny bit less) Here are my questions: 1) Is this build ok? I mean would you change anything within approximately same price point? 2) Which GPU would be better? My monitor budget isn't much. I can't get a G sync monitor. The monitor I've chosen have free sync. Please share your knowledge and help me to make a decision. Thanks in advance :)

So my RX 590 XFX (I understand it has terrible cooling) has been thermal throttling with no over clock. What I did was take off the side panel to make sure it wasn’t being chocked of air and it was still having thermal throttling issues and idk what to do. I can’t buy a new GPU for a long time so as long as it’s cheaper than a new GPU I’m down to try (please stay cheap like 50 dollars). If you have any suggestions it would be greatly appreciated. Have a nice day.

so i have a rx 590 fatboy and a amd ryzen 5 1600 with a 650w power supply and i would like to know some good overclocking for the system since recently i cant play battlefield 5 without lag. im a newbie and i dont want to destroy my system

Power supply is Seasonic s12ii 520W 80+ bronze and my question is whether it's enough for RX 590 or 580(though I could get former for the same price).

Hello I am currently upgrading my pc and wanted some opinions. I have a GTX 1050ti, i5-2500, 1TB HDD, 16gb 1600Mhz RAM, and the basic Optiplex 990 06D7TR motherboard. I am hoping to get an ASUS P8Z68-V PRO/GEN3 motherboard, RX 590 graphics card, i5-3570k CPU, DIYPC Zondda-B black case, and a Cooler Master Extreme Power 500w PSU. I was wandering if these upgrades would be worth it for VR and triple A games in 2020 or if I should save up and get a new higher end pc in the future. Even though I already bought the graphics card, case, and PSU and there is no going back now I was wandering others opinions. I appreciate all opinions!

So, I am trying to undervolt my GPU with latest Adrenaline software from AMD. I do not know which voltage is safe to go with this card, so if someone can help me with that I would be grateful. Also, I think something is not good with stock voltages on my PC, because "stage 3" voltage is larger than on "stage 7". Is that normal? Look picture: Thank you for your help!

Heya!I recently built my cousin a new PC equipped with the following specs: AMD Ryzen 5 2600 Asrock Phantom Gaming RX 590 8GB One stick of 8GB HyperX Fury 3200Mhz CL16 Gigabyte B450 S2H 600W AeroCool VX PLUS (https://www.aerocool.com.tw/au/psu/value-series/vx-plus-600w ) But unfortunately, the GPU driver crashes and recovers while playing games for a while (every game crashes after a certain time):Rust - 5 minutes after joining a serverGTA V - After a couple of hoursDestiny 2 - After around 30 minutesCSGO - Around 1 hourFurmark - After around 30 secondsWhen the driver crashes and recovers the game crashes and sometimes even the whole PC freezes. One time actually while he was playing CSGO his screen turned gray, the fans started spinning really fast and the whole machine froze. He actually never actually got a bluescreen. What I've done so far (in the same order): Update the BIOS to latest - F50 Download the latest drivers Downloading Windows Updates Overclocking both RAM and GPU - didn't work - same crash Run Memtest86 - no errors Speed up the GPU fans by tuning the fan curve - no changes Look for the crash in the Event viewer - the logs say that the display driver crashed and was recovered successfully DDU the driver (20.1.4) and install a WHQL one - 20.1.2 - I think it fixed Furmark crashes, but still all games crash after a certain time Clear CMOS - no changes I think I've tried everything software-wise. I'll meet him on Saturday and I'll look if everything is good hardware-wise and if all cables are attached firmly. After all of this, I'm starting to think that the issue is caused by either a defective GPU or PSU.Let me know what you guys think. Do you think it's a hardware malfunction? 600W not enough for the system? Bad PSU or GPU?Thanks in advance! ?

Hi, I recently upgraded my GPU from a GTX 950 (EVGA) to a brand new RX 590 (Gigabyte), everything seemed normal until I tried running minecraft. The results were horrible (fps averaging at 20ish). One weird point is that the GPU clock speeds stay at idle numbers at most of the time: 300 for the GPU and 400 for the memory. I've already tried to: Reinstall all GPU drivers using DDU Overclock the GPU Reinstall Java and Minecraft Switch the installation folder to an SSD Windows 10 Pro, Build 18362 Joshua-H61-uATX (Joshua) -Intel core i7-3770 @ 3.4GHz - RX 590 8GB Gigabyte -BIOS: 015.050.003.000.000000 -2x 4GB DDR3 @1660MHz -Kingston 960GB SSD -Seagate 1TB HDD -EVGA 550w psu

Hey, currently Centrecom is currently having a Boxing day sale and included are the Gigabyte RX 590 Rev 2.0 ($289) Gigabyte GTX 1660 Super ITX ($330) MSI Aero GTX 1660 Super ITX ($339) So with mainly temps on my mind, is it worth getting either 1660 Supers or stick with 590? NOTE: I got a CM MWE White 80+ 550W PSU inside a ATX case, so while it may be considerable for the 1660 it might pose a problem for 590.

I'm running that GPU with Thermaltake smart se 630W PSU. And maybe it started facing some issue. Like PC restarts in UPS's switch over time, I'm using an offline UPS, I'm not completely sure if UPS is faulty or the PSU. If i can find out it's PSU then most likely I'll just buy a new one instead of sending it to the warranty. So which PSU should i get for my spec? I'm using i5 6400 with stock cooler Gigabyte h110m series mobo Ddr3 8+8gb 1600BUS 5 cassis fan, If someone can choose me from this list that it'll be great, and please keep in mind that i can't spend more than 100$ for the PSU http://www.pcgardensylhet.com/index.php?route=product/category&path=88_227

Hi everyone, i'm going to explain a weird problem that I have encountered with the XFX RX 590. Before that, I need to tell you some things. My working build (without this problem) was: CPU: Intel i5-4460 GPU: Zotac GTX 1050 Ti Mini MoBo: Lenovo Sharkbay (Proprietary) RAM: 1x Ramaxel 4GB 1600MHz + 1x Samsung 8GB 1600MHz (both DDR3 obv) OS: Win 10 x64 build 1903 Monitor: Samsung Curved 27" with FreeSync (1st Gen) no HDR 1 month ago I replaced the 1050 Ti with a brand new RX 590... and the problem appeared. When I turn up or down the volume with the dedicated button on the keyboard (Lenovo Silk USB Keyboard) and the volume popup appeares in the high-left of the screen, I've got an FPS drop by 3-5 in games during the animation of appearing and disapperaing of the popup, and during fullscreen videos, they stuck for 1/2 second or less. Same with my new build, these are the specs: CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 3600 GPU: XFX AMD Radeon RX 590 8GB MoBo: MSI X570-A Pro (latest bios update) RAM: 2x Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4 3200MHz OS: Win 10 x64 build 1903 Monitor: Samsung Curved 27" with FreeSync (1st Gen) no HDR Same Keyboard and Mouse designed by Lenovo. Everything (OS, Programs and Games) are on SSDs (1x Kingston 480GB and 1x SanDisk 480GB) I tried everything. No OSD overlay (MSI AfterBurner, RivaTuner, AMD... EVERYTHING) No FreeSync. No V-Sync. I really don't now how to fix this problem. Thanks! (In this moment I can't upload a video of this problem, but if someone need to see in practice how is this problem in execution I'm able to upload) Sorry for my english... I'm italian!???

**Disclaimer** [Still testing, and Tuning but feel free to comment are post questions - recommendations below] Just like I did with the RTX 2080, saving some from a bad investment, when it comes to price to performance for mining. Below are some of my results when testing the new AMD RX 590 graphics card mining performance, now so far it is just ever so slightly better than the RX 580. I have tested one Bios mod on the RX 590, applying an RX 580 modded bios with no problems, and the website says the Graphics card comes with a Dual Bios switch located by the 8 + 6 pin connectors, which is handy if your Flashed Bios makes the card unstable. There are two Bios modes "Performance" or "Quiet" mode, the card comes stock with Performance enable which is what I was on when I flashed custom Bios to allow Memory clocks of 2300 Mhz. This card is using MICRON memory, just FYI. At stock settings, the card hated anything about 2000 Mhz and kept crashing, but after the mod certain Algos let me use 2300 Mhz.
