Hello everyone, The MSI RTX 3070 that I've recently bought started to run @ PCIe x1 3.0 speed randomly. I've bought it about 4 days ago, it was perfectly fine for 3 days or so and just yesterday when I wanted to play Forza Horizon 5, I've noticed my FPS, that usually sits around 80 to 130 in extreme settings, dipped below 30fps, even 0 at times. The weird thing is that even at the lowest settings in forza horizon 5, the benchmark score is horrendous, sitting around 40fps max at the lowest settings possible, with a RTX 3070. I've done many things to troubleshoot. I've just noticed that it shows up at GPU-Z PCIe x1 3.0, which should be the reason I'm having low FPS in many games with an RTX 3070. I've went through many Reddit and forum threads, yet found nothing that would fix my issue. The troubleshoots that I've done: Uninstalled Nvidia Drivers with DDU and reinstalled the latest drivers, twice. Updated the bios to the latest version, Cleaned the GPU and the PCIe Slot from any possible dust etc, Checked power saving settings, set everything to high performance, Reset bios settings back to default, Remove CMOS Battery and put in back in. Checked every single possible setting in NVIDIA, Windows Display Settings and Ingame settings for any setting that might cause this, such as V-Sync, frame limitor etc. Turned it off and on again My PC Specs: AMD Ryzen 5 3400g, Gigabyte b450m s2h MSI RTX 3070 8GB, Crucial 2x8 16GB @ 3000mhz 1x HP EX900 M.2 1TB 1x Samsung evo 860 500gb 1x WD Black HDD 500gb Corsair 750w 80+gold psu Note: I know that this setup might and will cause bottlenecks, I've bought the GPU as it was on sale and Im currently saving up to upgrade to an AM5 setup. Although, this shouldn't be the reason for the GPU to run at PCIe x1 3.0 speeds. Looking forward to any possible help, Thanks.

I installed it and continued gaming. I also stream on YouTube so I'll link one of my streams for a reference of the GPUs performance. I then proceeded to shut down my PC and upgrade my RAM (mentioned above). After clearing CMOS and booting up again, I logged in to Windows. And that's when Windows became extremely slow. I'm talking sluggish mouse movement, Start menu taking 5-10 seconds to load, any UAC window for launching Admin stuff taking 5-10 secs to load. My whole computer was extremely slow. I restarted into Safe Mode, DDU'ed the driver and booted back into Normal Windows. Everything ran smoothly again. Then Windows automatically installed an older Nvidia driver. Still ran smoothly. However when I launched Valorant, it ran at 25-30 fps. That was no good. I installed the latest Nvidia Driver again. Same problem. Extremely slow Windows performance. 10-15 fps on Valorant and Heaven Benchmark. I stumbled upon this troubleshooting video that JayzTwoCents had put out a while ago wherein he talks about disabling Windows automatically installing drivers so that it's a truly clean install. So I redid the entire DDU process again - this time checking the option to prevent Windows from doing that - installed the latest driver and... same problem. So then I thought maybe it's just a bug in the latest driver and Nvidia would release a hotfix for this driver eventually. In the meantime, I would roll back to an earlier driver. (All driver installations henceforth are done after DDU in Safe Mode.) I went through 4 or 5 different versions. Starting from one just before the latest driver (551.76), dating back to the version that I first had when I played Cyberpunk 2077 in December 2020 (546.33). All of them caused the same issue - smooth performance before the driver, sluggish performance after. I tried using 1 stick of RAM and clearing CMOS. Same issue. I tried my old stick of RAM. Same issue. I replaced the CMOS battery. I reseated the GPU and RAM. Same issue. Tried the Studio Driver. No differenece. Same issue. I eventually took my PC to my local vendor from who I had originally bought the parts (Prime ABGB, Mumbai). They swapped my drives for one of their SSD boot drives and it ran smoothly. Installed the latest Nvidia GR driver and was able to recreate the same problem. Slow performance. Then they swapped the 3070 for a 2080 Super from their test bench. And it worked smoothly. With latest Nvidia Driver, it hit 250+ fps on Heaven. Unfortunately, they do not undertake GPU repairs and it's out of warranty so I can't get a replacement either. I am aware that I'll have to shell out some serious cash and pick up a new one. But given that I have nothing to lose, I'd like to try and repair this one. Also, given the fact that it runs smoothly without a driver, I'm wondering if there is a plausible solution? Again, I'm at my wit's end. So any help would be greatly appreciated. Note: I am typing this thread out on that same machine and it's currently running super stuttery. Attaching a video of current Valorant gameplay shot on my OnePlus for reference: https://youtu.be/EJBztSxhK50?si=g8b1L1HQB77oh0Xo

Hi there, I recently made the very stupid mistake of flashing the wrong bios on my 3070 (gigabyte 3070 Gaming OC rev 1.0, accidentally flashed the 3070TI bios). ever since the card was essentially dead. it is not identified by the BIOS and does not show any signs of life (fans at 100% all the time). I purchased the following device in a last dich attempt to save my card: USB Programmer Module Flash BIOS Clip CH341A 5V-3.3V Drive IC Electronic Kit | eBay i made several attempts to flash the new bios on the chip with no success so far. does anyone have experience using such a device and came across issues or possible was able to resolve a bad flash? Thanks a lot!

I ran some benchmarks (UserBenchmark and PassMark) and they both tell me that my pc is running below its capacity, compared to other similar PCs. More specifically, the problem seems to be with the graphics card. I have a Ryzen 5 5500 with a RTX 3070 (I know there is bottleneck in this configuration), but when I watch videos on YouTube of games running in this configuration, they all run much higher than I can get. Also, I recently installed the new Horizon Forbidden West, and I got an average of 40 FPS running everything on very low at 1080p. Something is wrong, but I don't know what else I can check. Any tips, suspicions? I bought this card at the beginning of last year, but it was used. It is a version of Gainward (Phoenix) that has LHR. Could it be that if it was used for mining, the graphics chip may be "tired" causing low performance? Is there anything I can validate on my own? Well, I did everything I could do with basic recommendations I received on Reddit. GPU Driver: most up-to-date possible (551.86). BIOS: most up-to-date possible F19 (AORUS B550M v1.3). All drivers updated. RAM XMP active. All AMD video drivers deleted (deleted with DDU). Resizable Bar enabled. I didn't notice any FPS improvement. As I said initially, I have no errors or problems, only extremely low performance for the GPU, given the comparisons with the same GPU + CPU combo that I researched online. Would anyone have any more tips or have gone through something similar that they managed to solve? To consolidate, below are all the links to prints and benchmarks that I have done so far: Passmark: https://www.passmark.com/baselines/V11/display.php?id=206562112913 GPU-Z: https://gpuz.techpowerup.com/24/03/30/hru.png https://imagizer.imageshack.com/img922/636/vkhjNm.png(Horizon FW in game prtscrn) https://imagizer.imageshack.com/img924/3243/RMF53e.png(3D Mark Demo - Print 1) https://imagizer.imageshack.com/img923/6237/WNtBQd.png(3D Mark Demo - Print 2) https://imagizer.imageshack.com/img923/7117/OxvFPP.png(3D Mark Demo - Print 3) https://imagizer.imageshack.com/img924/9027/GiM0d4.png(CPUZ) https://imagizer.imageshack.com/img923/3707/O63x0Y.png(CPUZ) https://imagizer.imageshack.com/img922/3862/wkGdzi.png(CPUZ) https://imagizer.imageshack.com/img923/1589/ydOwRg.png(CPUZ) https://imagizer.imageshack.com/img924/8166/28I7qR.png(CPUZ) GPU installation: Full picture of Mobo (AORUS B550M v1.3): https://static.gigabyte.com/StaticFile/Image/Global/883819369cb3d1be25acc0ba9d5e72ab/Product/32692

I bought a second hand RTX 3070 back in January this year. I replaced my old RTX 2060 and for a good few months everything was fine. Recently, when I have been playing Euro Truck Simulator 2 I have ran into issues where randomly when I am playing both my monitors will say no signal. I can still hear the audio on my headphones though. To get it back I need to press the power button to get the computer to restart. Then it sometimes posts but has trouble going into windows until I unplug the monitors and plug them back in but sometimes the RGB will come on but the fans won't spin and it won't post or boot at all. Graphics card: RTX 3070 Gaming X Trio CPU: Ryzen 5 3600 750 watt PSU Motherboard: Asrock B450M Pro4 I have tried switching it to "prefer higher performance" in the Nvidia control panel as suggested by some sources online. I have dug out my old parts for some serious troubleshooting today. Do you guys have any idea what could be causing this? TL;DR: The monitors stop receiving signal when playing games on the computer (I can still hear audio however). To do anything I need to press the power button to restart it. Then it will either refuse to boot or just show a blank screen (not no signal).

Hello So, I recently got the SpeedFan Software, which is super awesome and I had it for a while for my CPU/AIO fan but when I tried it for my GPU, it detects 2 Sensors(for 2 fans), but I can only control one fan, so I started the Setup Assistant again and now booth fans of my GPU stoped... And won't react to the Curve, when I Exit the Software the GPU Fans start to spin again... So I guess the start and stop values got detected wrong... So for me it makes no sense that the Start and stop values are on 0 on the right: Specs: RTX 3070 i7 13th Gen AIO: Artic Liquid Freezer II 360 Windows 11 I hope I'm not too wrong... Thanks for your help!

Hi all! As you can see from my recent(-ish) posts I’ve been having lots of trouble with my current GPU, an ASUS RTX 3070 V2 OC, mostly because I’ve bought it second hand. It started black screening under load so I repasted it and changed all the thermal pads because HWINFO showed almost instant thermal throttling as soon as a load was applied. That fixed it but, soon after, the fan bearings both gave up the ghost and now the card is now SUPER loud whenever the fans kick in. At this point I’m just straight up tired of having to work on that thing, so I’m now looking for replacements! I’ve looked around a bit and I loved the look of the Steel Legend lineup of cards by ASRock, since it fits way better with my case and my motherboard (also a Steel Legend, the B550M), but since they’re AMD cards I’m not sure which model would work best in my setup and for my uses. I run an AMD Ryzen 7 5800X (stock speeds), 32GB of RAM at 3600MHz and I have a Fractal Design Ion+ 660W (rated 80 Plus Platinum). As I said my current GPU is an RTX 3070. I play and stream titles like Overwatch and Rocket League. I also play more demanding games such as Baldur’s Gate 3 on frequent occasions. I also edit and render videos from time to time with DaVinci Resolve. For now my main display is a 27” 1080p 75Hz monitor, but I was looking into replacing it by a 1440p 144Hz monitor sometime in the near future. The options that are available to me are either a RX 7600 8GB, a RX 7600 XT 16GB or a 7700 XT 12GB. Since the fans on my current RTX 3070 need to be replaced, all my games’ settings are turned down already so that they don’t come on too often (and because I’m scared of damaging the card further), so even if the card technically performs somewhat worse than a regular 3070 I wouldn’t notice a difference, as long as it doesn’t bottleneck my CPU too much. So in this case, would one of the 7600s work, or would I need to spend more and instead go for a 7700 XT? Thanks in advance!

So, with the Christmas season around the corner I'm looking forward to upgrade my rig from a GTX 1060 6gb with the money I saved until now, but I can't find a solid answer for my PSU problem. My pc config is : Ryzen 7 2700x with the included Wraith Prism cooler ;Asus TUF gaming x570-plus mobo; 16gb ram; Asus ROG strix GTX 1060 6gb and a Corsair CX550M PSU. The thing is that I'm not sure if I have enough wattage budget for a 4070. Every wattage calculator I used gives me an estimate of around 350w used for my build with the RTX 4070. The CPU is 105w and the GPU 200w. But Nvidia recommends a 650w PSU minimum. Can i get away with not upgrading the PSU? PS: I know I will slightly bottleneck the 4070 at 1080p, but in my country the RTX 4070 and the RTX 4060ti are almost the same price, and in the future I might consider upgrading the CPU also.(and I also use the 4k tv sometimes for couch gaming). In the same context, what about a 3070/3070ti? They both chug more power, but I found deals for them for much cheaper than the 4070 and might be a better fit for my CPU. Can they fit my power budget?

I've just bought a new (to me) Gigabyte Vision RTX 3070 and I am having a couple of issues. The first issue I am having is heat. It is heating up to 85C, and the fans are running at full speed. Airflow isn't an issue - if I take off the side panel this still happens. I know 85C isn't an issue in itself, but it is causing it to lower the boost clock to keep the temperature from going higher, which it shouldn't have to do. It is loud and I feel it should / could be performing better. The next (and more major) issue I am having is that I am experiencing crashes. I find that sometimes my screen will randomly go blank, my monitor will go into standby, and nothing responds, meaning I have to press the reset button on my case. This is worst case scenario - sometimes the game just crashes, but one of the two will almost definitely happen if the GPU is under heavy load. This only happens when the GPU is under load. The last issue I am having is I have noticed that when i enable G-Sync i get some flickering in some games. I understand this can be caused by the game FPS exceeding the possible refresh rate of the monitor. This is strange as I enable an fps limit at 144fps, V-Sync is on and my monitor is set up correctly. I am at a loss with this one, but I haven't looked into this too much due to the time taken up by the previous issues. Tomorrow when I get a chance, I am going to use two separate PCIe power cables, as opposed to one split cable. I have heard mixed opinions on whether this makes a difference or not, but I feel it is definitely worth a try before trying to get my money back for the card (if I can). Does anyone have any other suggestions for what I can try? I am aware that I can try undervolting for the GPU; if changing the power cables resolves the instability, I will also look into that and see what can be done. Any advice relating to that would also be appreciated. I have just upgraded from an RTX 2060 Super and I had neither of these issues. My PC specs: Ryzen 7 5800X (NO OC) Asus Rog Strix B550-A Motherboard 32GB DDR4-3600MHz (D.O.C.P) Corsair RM750x 750 watt PSU 1440p 144hz HDR10 Monitor Sorry this is so long. Any advice / suggestions would be strongly appreciated. Thanks.

(Reposting this from reddit, as I did not get much help there) Specs out of the way: - i7 12700F - B660M Aorus Pro AX (DDR4) - 16gb 3200mhz DDR4 RAM (8gb x 2) - Gigabyte RTX 3070 Good day! The specs listed above is my new PC that I had just built last year February. This year starting February I've been having issues with it. Particularly, it won't turn on. The issue started when one day, It wouldn't turn on automatically with just one press of the power button. The fans would spin for just a split second but my PC won't continue powering on. I found out that if I hold down the power button for around 3 seconds, it was effective in making it boot up. Call it brute force if you will. I didn't really mind this issue because I was too busy with work in general and thought it might have been just caused by my UPS's battery dying which I can easily replace later. nonetheless, it was an effective way for making my PC turn on for a while (around 1-2 weeks). Until one day, it just wont power on anymore. At that point I realized that it was definitely a problem with my PC, as it still won't turn on when plugged directly to the wall. The first thing I (or anyone this case) would suspect to be the problem would be the PSU. I was using a Gigabyte P750GM (yes, the one that's known to explode, but it never exploded and never smelled like burnt electronics). So I ordered a Seasonic Focus Plus Gold GX850 as a replacement. So I installed the Seasonic PSU and to my surprise, my system still won't turn on as I spam the power button. I thought I might have been just unlucky and got a unit which was dead on arrival. I was lucky I was able to send it back. Alas I settled for a Corsair HX850 (the latest model I believe). So I installed the Corsair PSU and it STILL won't turn on. However, I did not spam the power button this time. I figured it was definitely some other hardware problem. After hours of tinkering. I found out that strangely, my PC turns on when my RTX 3070's power cables are removed. At that point I was convinced that my GPU was dead, but after trying it on my old 2015 PC, it would still turn on and run, and is detected correctly by windows. I need a GPU to make my newer PC work (because my CPU doesn't have an iGPU) so I tried plugging in my GTX 960 which I scavenged from my old system. The strangest thing is that my PC runs with the 960, but not when the 3070. It is still my current setup. Does this mean that my motherboard was the problem this whole time? Before I decide to buy a new motherboard, I would just like to ask your opinions if that would be the correct move to finally resolve everything. Why is it that my PC refuses to turn on with a 3070 but turns on with a 960? Things I've tried: - Tried using different power cables - Tried reseating RAM - Tried plugging the 3070 in the PCIe 3.0 slot - Cleaned the 3070 as well as my entire PC - Opened up PC case's power button and checked if it's working correctly Things I haven't tried: - Updating bios (I have little faith that this a firmware issue because the PC does not boot up in the first place. No fans spinning or signs of powering on if the 3070 is plugged in, and it was working well for a whole year prior to having these issues). Currently, I am still using the same PC but with the GTX960 installed. It has been working well and has no issues when gaming. Any knowledge / information regarding how this could be a motherboard issue (or if you have any other ideas) would be a great help. It would also help me decide whether to get a new motherboard or not.

I have an MSI RTX 3070 and Gigabyte B450 Aorus M MOBO on BIOS update F42a. I downloaded the Resizable Bar firmware update from MSI Dragon Center and now I have a black screen. My boot drive is GPT, the boot mode is UEFI, CSM is disabled and 4G Encoding is enabled. I reset the CMOS and changed GPUs and everything works well with the this GPU but when I try to plug the RTX 3070 back in I still get a black screen. I should also note that my cpu is a 3600 and so I can't connect the display output to the MOBO and still have the RTX 3070 connected. Any help?

12k Tight budget 8k60fps And/Or 12k60fps editing PC
AB6591 posted a topic in New Builds and Planning
Hey Guys, I am building a tight budget 8k60fps editing PC. I even want to push it higher to say 12k60fps footage? But, hope it won't take more than 5-6 hours for rendering 20 minutes of 8k60fps or 12k60fps footage. What do you think time required will be for both 8k60fps and 12k60fps in Adobe Premiere Pro or DaVinci Resolve??? So, is RTX 3060ti or RTX 3070 good enough with say i5 13500 or 13600k with 2x16GB DDR5 6000hz ram??? Will it crash in 8k60fps or 12k60fps even after using 2k or 4k proxy files for editing? Can you please specifically tell me what will happen?- 3 replies

So i was cleaning my pc before installing my new antec a400i after stock cooling for years! (Temps while gaming went down from 92 to 62 at max load) on an i5-11400 But while cleaning i noticed a small dust thingy that was stuck on one of those lies, so my stupid butt tried using a pin to get it out but i accidentally pushed it in more. Its so small it cant be seen even inside tho. Will it damage or do anything? Its only on that spot too. I tried running cyberpunk on max settings and everything worked perfectly fine. Should i be worried?

Hi all, first post here. Late last year i upgraded to a ryzen 7 5800x, shortly after the 5000 series was released. I didn't realise at the time that my Asus Prime B450 Plus was not really intended to run the 5000 series processors, however i managed to get it working with a beta BIOS update that was released (in december i believe). I've been wondering lately if this setup is actually limiting my processors performance at all, and wether an upgrade to something like an x570 is worth the time and money. Any advice is greatly appreciated. Hello there good ppl of the great forum-lands, Today I finally fulfilled my dream of assembling a decent gaming PC! asus rog strix x570e Motherboard 5600x; RTX 3070; 1tb (something-Evo) M.2 SSD, 32 Gigs of Gskill 3200 Mhz Ram topped off with a H115i AIO cooler. The Thing was running as fast as I had never seen before! Now I can't get windows to load up anymore. All of this started, when I tried to make the RAM run at 3.2 GHz. DIDNT WORK! The PC didnt even boot anymore. [I am dumb so I just typed in 3200MHz in Ramspeed] So I shut it down and Hard reset it via powering down + unplugging + taking out CMOS Battery. I waited a bit and I tried again. This time the PC did boot up again, so I tried using the DOCP Profile instead. Now the PC crashed againg and was stuck in its boot cycle again. I cleared the CMOS again, but I couldnt get it to give me a video output anymore. I have switched out the 3070 (was in 2.nd slot) for an old 1060 (now in first slot, all others empty) I am currently back to the bios. Now the Bios recognizes all drives (M.2, EVO, WD B) but can't boot from any of them anymore. "No Bootable Drives Detected" is the reoccurring response. What in the Lord Linus' name can I do now? I really wanted to finally play some flight sum :( I appreciate all the help! Thanks in advance! Adil
