I recently stumbled across this particular song by jet "Cold Hard B1tch" Now I'm looking for similar songs with the same characteristics. Those being: A change of pace at some points, but mostly at the same pace. It being some type of Rock, harder/softer doesn't matter. Lyrics being quite minimalist. I have been going through hit lists, and browsing through artists albums but yet didn't strike gold. There is no need to start looking for me, but in case you know a song just let me know Sidenotes: URL To the song if needed EDIT: Maybe this isn't the right forum to post this on.. If not just remove this post, since it isn't related to tech..

I am trying to use a Dark Rock 3 with LGA 2066, anyone know of an install guide?
-
SO! I won auction on ebay. I bought beQuiet Dark Rock Pro TR4 for... £20. With mounting kit + 2 fans. The problem is, I got AM4 mobo with 1700x on it. And it gets me thinking... Did anyone tried to mount TR4 cooler on AM4? Is it even possible? Should I go with the flow and just mash it together, or it's not worth it? Couldn't find any info on the internets, so maybe anyone else tried that before? Technically, from what I see, only the heat plate is bigger, and I think it could be possible...

So... I did a thing. Story begins with me, guy who likes DIY but can't afford a proper workshop. Or just don't have a space. ANYWAYS, I was browsing eBay and found a TR4 beQuiet Dark Rock Pro for £20. I thought, hell, it's really cheap. So I decided to buy it. I forgot about it until it actually show up at my doorstep. It is MASSIVE! I loved every single thing about this monstrosity. I had to mount it. But is it even possible? By googling through the vast internet I found like 2 threads about it. 1 says that it's impossible, the other one that you have to be magician with machine working. I'm not... ... but I have Dremel. It all started with checking the holes on AM4 motherboard. Since I'm lazy and I don't have any laying around, only in my main rig, I decided that I'll get measurements from the stock cooler. TR4 Dark Rock has one arm for mounting screws longer than the other. So first one, I just needed to drill holes through it at the ends. No big deal (spoiler alert - massive deal). https://imgur.com/DaGlVUX The other one, smaller, all I needed is simply make holes bigger. Maybe with a simple drill I'll be able to do it? (no.) https://imgur.com/SCQEo8D Now, the main arm needs an extra hole to make sure it will align with holes. (Impossibru. At least without any super strong/special tools) https://imgur.com/jDh2i1I So... Let's do it. First, I have couple of drills that might work. Decided to give it a try. https://imgur.com/SsEN6uW After 10 minutes, all I saw was just a small scratch. I gave up. https://imgur.com/rr4aem8 If I don't have a specific drill, maybe I can just do a hole with a Dremel? It won't look good, but it doesn't have to. It has to be big enough to fit a screw through. Try the first cut: https://imgur.com/RCIa6QR So after incredibly professional job from me, (and destroying one Dremel blade https://imgur.com/m5qkGeq) it came out like that: https://imgur.com/rA5EY5y Oh, so professional! https://imgur.com/Rg1qe6S But wait. I'm not going to leave it all silver and shiny. I need to be professional. https://imgur.com/9DExjzF Brilliant. Now, let's try if the screw will fit: https://imgur.com/Eoyqlma Surprisingly well. But I still have two more parts to destro... I mean, adjust. If I don't have a drill and I can't really do a star again... https://imgur.com/se9qWCX Meh, I'll be fine. And final fit: https://imgur.com/w5Vcj6t Holly crap, it might actually work. Or is it? Well, it's time to check. https://imgur.com/dA19YUP ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- After disassembly of Noctua cooler I did a test fit of my better, improved mounting brackets... https://imgur.com/DdBandH It did not work. I mean, it kinda worked. Long one was surprisingly tough, it could easily hold the cooler, but the small one, I cut too short. What now?! Wait... what about that Noctua bracket? Might work... https://imgur.com/9IvmIBv Well, from test fit I learned two things. 1) I didn't had to get any holes to make it work, 2) 1 screw less never killed anyone (did you ever disassembly laptop and had zero screws left? I didn't, yet they all work). So as a test was positive, I decided to check first without thermal paste. Let's check. https://imgur.com/SyFJYib https://imgur.com/YpxsxmY https://imgur.com/5PL0zpX https://imgur.com/9QNY3is It... works. I think. I need to tight the screws way too much that I like, but it does fit. I can lift a mobo by the cooler, and it has NO movement anywhere. So I'm happy. On this photo, you can even see how IHS makes contact with cooling plate: https://imgur.com/xVXU03R ... or at least you could see, if I had better camera. Redmi Note 8 is not the best for it. Back to DIY. I decided that it takes WAY too much time now, I need to mount it. If I break MOBO, I'll break it, but I need to make it work. So: https://imgur.com/waFEFe1 https://imgur.com/EiWAPC7 (here you can see it makes a decent contact with IHS) https://imgur.com/0yNlW32 (mounted middle fan and front) AAAAAAAAAND! https://imgur.com/NPbhDIG YES! But wait. It did not post... (because I'm an idiot and didn't fastened PCIe extension properly) 2nd try, and... https://imgur.com/arZJKrH SUCCESS! https://imgur.com/Y6tEFF9 Temps not bad... OCCT stress test, after ~ 6 minutes it stabilized around 67*C and stayed there: https://imgur.com/tvBTQxr So after all. The main questions: 1) Is it better than previous cooler? Yes, by 10*C. 2) Was it worth it? No. 3) Am I proud of it? Hell yes. 4) Would I do it again? Yes. 5) Do I recommend it? NO. It was pain in the ASS to do it, but I had fun. And learned that I need to buy some new tools. Hope you enjoyed it. I know I did.

Hello everyone. I recently bought a new cpu being the 8700. And i've been using the stock cooler (Which is SUPER loud). So i was looking for an upgrade. I decided i wanted either the dark rock 4 or the dark rock pro 4 from be quiet. But i'm not sure if the pro will fit. My motherboard: MSI H370 gaming PRO Carbon I also have 1 ram stick: Balistix Elite 3200mhz 1x 8gb Case: NZXT Razer H440 So will the Be Quiet Dark rock 4 Pro fit and will the non pro even fit?

What is your most frequently played music? What is your favorite? For me that would probably be Mick Gordon's brilliant Doom's 2016 reboots ( and remake! ) of the piece "At Doom's Gate". Give it a listen its really quite a piece...

Hi. I've been watching LTT videos for years now, but only now decided to join the forum. I did because I'm in need of some help. I'm somewhat of an audio-newb, but I figured, since I'm listening to music most of my free time anyway, I might as well put some money towards some nice cans. Question is, what to get? Now first up yes, I did try googling it. 'Twas kinda difficult though. Not only are most posts terribly outdated, all of 'em seem to contradicting each other. (Probably to be expected, with music being subjective and what not ) I listen mainly to soft- and Hardrock, as well as (power/ heavy) metal! I'm currently using VB Audio's "Voice Meter", mainly for my mic, but I got to play around with the included, but rather basic, equalizer it provides. Now, again, I don't really know what I'm doing, but I found increasing bass and highs by just a bit, made most songs sound a bit nicer to me. Dunno if that helps About open vs closed, I read somewhere a wider soundstage doesn't really compliment rock or metal. Not sure if that's true or not. Probably subjective as well. I've got a pretty short way to work (~'bout 10 mins), so I'll probably only rarely (if at all) use them outside, so leakage shouldn't be a problem I think. Except, I tend to use teamspeak a lot, not sure whether sound might leak into my (standalone) mic or not... In the past I've used exclusively Sennheiser cans, my two very first non-in-ears where some cheap "designer" on-ears, supposedly made by Sennheiser. I remember liking them at the time, but that was before I had the ones I'm using right now. Funny thing is, both of those designer ones cable broke within 6 months of owning (and excessively using) them, which is the reason I got a pair with a detachable cable, which I never had to replace in a little over 4 years now! Anyways, right now I'm using the Sennheiser 439's. I can't find my actual invoice, but I think I paid about 60 to 80 bucks back then. Also: Despite what I had in the past, it doesn't have to be Sennheiser again! Just thought I mention that.... I plan on using them 10+ hours at a time on some days, so naturally they have to be comfy. I'm a big guy though, so even though the 439's are supposed to be over ear, on me they're much rather on ear. I never had any problems with those hurting though, so if the the clamp isn't too bad, I hope that's not an issue. For my budget I heard 300$ is a sweet spot. Not sure if that's true. Could go up to 600 if you think it's worth it though! I've looked at a couple that I read were pretty good for that kinda music: Grado SR325e - I've heard both that they're great and awful. The cushions look terribly uncomfortable though, any experiences? Audio-Technica ATH-M50X - There seems to be somewhat of a cult behind these. Always someone recommending them. Heard they're somewhat of a Jack-of-all-trades. I don't really need that though... Sennheiser HD600 - Looks like these are pretty nice. Couldn't find anything about their performance in rock and metal though..... Shure SRH1440 - Read good things about the brand. Beyerdynamic in general - Heard somewhere european metal bands usually use this brand for their recordings. Not sure if there's any truth to that. Sadly they don't seem to have a product in that price category. Hard good things about the 770 though! Opinions? Any other recommendations? I'm at an impasse. 'Specially because I don't just wanna throw money at the problem and hope it goes away. In audio that doesn't seem to work very well...... tl;dr Headphones. Rock & Metal. 300-600$. What to buy? Thanks :3

So i'm planning on doing a silent build in a Fractal Design Define S (no window). Would a Dark Rock 3 without fans be able to cool a 4690K? I'm going to have 3 Noctua NF-A14's in the front.

Now, before all you master PC gamers get mad and start giving Harmonix crap over not respecting your gaming needs, lets understand why Rock Band 4 isn't coming out on PC and whether the reasons make logical sense. See, Rock Band includes the same music you are free to pirate already, only it contains multiple tracks. For each instrument. For vocals. Basically the entire song before someone presses "export" and creates the .wav master file from which every other version is spawned. So that can be a big deal to the rights holders (aka the music industry) because they clearly don't want what amounts to studio quality files being thrown out. They have a point, rarely do you see studio quality leaks (much less multiple track versions of songs) because that stuff just doesn't happen all the time. I can think of only one song in recent memory that had even a .wav leak. Does this mean Rock Band 4 will never come out? Who knows. Maybe they will figure out some crafty DRM that secures the songs or otherwise learn to deal with the environment and just release it. But there it is. Want to grove on to music in a game that is arguably based on a fun series? Go get a platform that isn't a PC. And before you all shit over Harmonix, this was a record label(s) decision. Harmonix doesn't get to say no to what they want when they need songs for their game. http://arstechnica.com/gaming/2015/06/threat-of-music-piracy-one-reason-rock-band-4-isnt-coming-to-pc-for-now/

I am looking for a over-ear headphone that best suit the genres I listen to. I mostly listen to: -Metal -All kinds of Rock (from led zeppelin to alterbridge) -A little bit of jazz and edm(deadmouse, daftpunk...) I don't really have a budget for this, I am just looking for the best value I can get. Not planning to buy something right away just trying to get to know and explore the market. Recently tried out Koss Portapros, they are quite good for rock like AC/DC and Led Zeppelin but sounds a little noisy when I listen to metal. I appreciate any input to the topic. Thanks...

I can get the Dark Rock 3 for 51€ and the Dark Rock Pro 3 for 66€ Is the Dark Rock pro 3 worth the 15€ more ? It's for my future build with i5 4690k, can I overclock it to 4Ghz or something like that with one of this coolers ? Sorry for my bad english !

First of all would the Dark rock pro 3 fit in my case? My Case= Zalman 11 Plus http://www.zalman.com/global/product/Product_Read.php?Idx=476 If Yes then is the extra performance worth the extra noise you get from 2 fans instead of one? My Pc sits on top of my desk Right next to me and the amd 8350 stock cooler drives me crazy! Plus I have to disable half of the bloody cores and underclock it to not fricking over heat! Grado SR225i Review: Pro's: Amazing overall sound quality, Superb mid-range, incredibly detailed sound, 32 ohm impedance and high sensitivity make them easy to drive with nearly any device. Con's: Cheaply built, Some treble frequencies sound bright, Comfort can be an issue. Equipment used: PC, uncompressed WAV audio, Rega DAC, Fred's 12AU7 tube headphone amp. Grado's, they have a very love hate reputation and i think the SR225i's are no exception to that. The SR225i's have a very forward sound like their siblings in the prestige line, make no mistake, they wont sit you 10 rows back in the audiance to enjoy the show, instead, the SR 225i's will put you right up on stage with the artist/band. The forward sound of being up on stage has its advantages and disadvantages in my opinion, the fact that your up on stage will stop the soundstage from being 3D, there's still ample space between instruments but its more of a wide short soundstage as opposed to being wide and long. The advantages of the forward sound of the SR225i's is that it makes detail levels huge, stringed instruments and vocals are layered with rich detail, Jimi Hendrix's Fender Stratocaster in the remastered version of Little Wing sounds incredibly real and natural and the dynamics dont sound forced. Moving on to some Dubstep and the SR225i's have no trouble keeping up with the fast bass line and brutal dynamics of Skrillex's Bangarang, this song really shows how fast the drivers in the SR225is respond, it actually sounds effortless for them. All this aside, i cant highly recommend these cans for this genre because i just dont think they quite have the bass weight and extension to keep most who like this genre happy, they also sounded a touch bright on the trebles in this song. Over to asthetics and build quality. The SR225i's aesthetics certainly aren't for everyone, they are a very retro design, a lot of people probably wouldn't want to be seen in public with them. With that said though, i personally wouldnt mind and i think most would use them for home use only because of their open back design (they leak a lot of sound and let a lot in!) and they have a 1/4 inch jack, with an adapter and the roughly 7mm thick cable they would be quite annoying to have in your pocket with an MP3 player. The build quality is decent its more the materials used that arent so impressive, the SR225i's are made up of mainly plastic and a thin metal headband wrapped in vinyl. The head band can be gently bent in order to lower clamping pressure if desired. The L-cush pads on the SR225i's can be quite uncomfortable for some people and i noticed a lot of people complaining about this while i was doing my research before buying, for me they can feel a bit tight but i think the foam will soften with time and if i have to i can bend the head band a little more to take a bit of pressure off. Overall i think these are worth their money easily because of their incredible sound quality. As said above the aesthetics aren't for everyone and the materials used are a bit cheap but their performance is incredible. If your into mainly instrumental music like rock, metal, jazz, classical, folk etc you wont be disappointed I think where they shine the most would be rock and jazz. As talented as these cans are i wouldn't recommend them for gaming due to their short soundstage, for me though, not being a super competitive gamer that needs that edge they are perfectly fine. I'm very happy with my purchase and i honestly think for me being as picky with audio as i am, they will be a keeper no matter whether i upgrade to a higher model later on, they have a way of stopping me from over analyzing the sound like i usually do with most speakers/cans, instead I'm just enjoying the music and that makes them extremely rewarding for me.

I am going to be getting this air cooler to cool my i5-4670K and i was just wondering if it will fit inside a Fractal Design Define R4 windowed and if it will interfere with my ram which is 2x8gb sticks of Corsair Vengeance Pro. The ram will be put on a Asus Maximus VII Ranger.
-
I currently have a Dark Rock 2 on my 4670K @stock speeds. It's configured in pull due to clearance issues with my Vengance Pro RAM. The temps i get on prime 95 are around 60°C which isn't too much but it's much imo. There are a few ways / questions for reconfiguring my dark rock 2 First off, i want to at least configure it in push again. For that I'd have to remount the fan about 3 fins higher due to RAM clearance. Will this be an issue for the temps at the bottom? Also the fan will probably cover the first RAM slot. My board has ABAB |cooler| RAM config. (see pictures) Should I/ can I put my RAM from A into B slots, so i can populate the other slots more easy later? Also count into consideration that removing my fan is not that easy, because it sits fucking tight. Then i thought about adding a second fan for push pull. This is actually not to improve temps but more importantly for looks and virtual penis extension. So where can i get another one of these fans, since this is some kind of special 135mm silent wing 2 with 120mm mounting holes? On a side note i want to put even more bequiet fans in my case and custom paint them a little bit, so i don't want different fans on my DR 2. More important question: how can i mount the second fan, since the DR 2 has only one mounting point. I thought about some springs with hooks, to attach it to the original mounting bracket's back (see pictures). The original bracket sits very firmly so you can easily try to mount something to it. But i might create some rattling noise from the spring due to vibration. That would suck. I also thought about rasping in a second mounting point. But on the other hand the aluminium fins are very sensitive and i don't have a 3D scanner nor a CAD machine to do it preciseley.
